They can swear it was about it's hard to develop for two diff devices but I think it was their greed with the propietary memory cards it was not a cheap system but their storage choice was wildly expensive. I bought one once it failed because of a really good deal that was packaged with a small memory card I usually only play one game at a time so it was not a big deal for me also back then at the begining ps plus was a great service for a great price now it's been watered down and way more expensive so it just made sense to me!
The downfall of the sony playstation vita was the price point $$$$...and the fact that the things that was needed fir the ps vita was to high in price as much as the gameing console it self
The PlayStation Vita is considered a failure primarily due to a combination of factors including: poor third-party support, expensive proprietary memory cards, a lack of major exclusive titles, the rise of powerful mobile gaming, and Sony's focus on the PS4 which left the Vita under-supported; ultimately leading to a lack of compelling reasons for consumers to purchase the device compared to other options available at the time. Key points about the Vita's downfall: High cost of memory cards: Sony's decision to use proprietary memory cards for the Vita, which were significantly more expensive than standard micro SD cards, was a major turn-off for consumers. Limited game library: Many major developers did not prioritize developing for the Vita, resulting in a smaller library of high-quality games compared to other platforms. Mobile gaming competition: The rapid growth of powerful mobile gaming options on smartphones provided a convenient and accessible alternative to dedicated handheld consoles like the Vita. Focus on PS4: Sony's primary focus shifted to the PlayStation 4, leaving the Vita with less development resources and marketing support. Unnecessary features: Some features on the Vita, like the rear touchpad, were not widely utilized by developers and were seen as gimmicky.
Would the new playstation vita 2 be backwards compatible? I have so many vita games tgat i dobt wanna get rid of/ i have the playstation vita aqua blue 2000 model is my playstation vita compatible with my sony playstation5 slim?
I doubt it would be backwards compatible with the original vita but that would be cool if it was! Aww that blue vita slim sounds amazing, i really need to get my hands on one, unfortuantely it is not compatible with the PS5! So why do you think the PS Vita wasnt as succesful as it should have been?
We had 2 WII 2's. In our house, we literally used them like we do switches now. TV is on and someone is watching while someone else is playing on the screen. I had a charger dock next to my bed and would play in the bed, just like I do now with my PS Portal.
If he’s saying that the tv out was about sents why didn’t they include it in the portal?? Would have loved that feature! Just plug an usb c to hdmi on the tv in hotels or my iPad 9:07
Expensive launch price ($250US) unnecessary tech - rear touchpad, two cameras!, and proprietary memory. It also came out about the same time as mobile phone games were getting hugely popular.
Another thing I think, while a simple one and easily lost amongst the others, is why I can’t play the white PS Vita 1000 I have anymore. It’s not mine, and the actual owner isn’t careful with keeping track of things and long ago lost the charge cable. The proprietary charge port. By the time that was fixed in the slim model, it was almost too late.
The super expensive proprietary memory cards were probably their biggest mistake with the console, could have easily just used sd or micro sd cards. As well as the lack of support even by sony themselves for games.
It was uncomfortable to use and priority memory was too expensive. Started to play Vita after buying shock case/cradle with controller like wedges - 400 times more comfortable to use. They over engineered the Vita, yes it was expensive to get but proprietary memory was just too expensive. Poor support from Sony killed it completely.
@purepsx I have wifi with 3g and wifi only 1000 models and the 2000 model. I believe the lack of games was the issue for me but with the homebrew community that is a thing of the past. I play on my modded vita as much as any other counsel or gaming pc and I have them all. Not a lot of time for gaming with young children so I have a rather large back log.

Marking failed the vita. 95% of people didn’t know it existed. Even today when I bring it up people say “you mean the psp”?

True! Would you like to see Sony have another crack at the handheld market with a Vita 2?
This is my thoughts as well!
All the proprietary stuff made it hard to buy.

Great video .This is something the public should know. well gamers in the public
Thank you! After watching the video what’s your thoughts on why the vita wasn’t as successful as it could have been?

Nice! I had a Wii but never got a Wii U, I will need to pick one up sometime, is there any good games on it that haven’t been ported to the switch?
Still play my modded vita to this day.
amazing! what games are you go to on the Vita?
@@purepsx I got tons of games but my go to is cod online. I have just put on vitaki on it to test out the ps5 remote play on the vita.
How do i connect my ps vita 2000 model to my ps5 console for remote play? i don't wanna spend $200 on a playstation portal
you cant, its not compatible with PS5, why do you thnk the PS Vita wasnt as succesful as it should have been?
What do you play more Playstation Portal or Playstation Vita. Just curious
Portal right now, Why do you think the portal wasn’t as successful as it could have been?

For me, it was the experience. It was a different experience then playing on a console. I just didn't feel the same.
Cool, would you like to see Sony have another go at all full on handheld console?
We’re in different times if Sony dropped a Vita today with PS4ish capabilities at 400usd they’ll sell 50mil plus units
Totally agree, can’t wait to see it happen! Why do you think the portal wasn’t as successful as it could have been?
It was uncomfortable to use and priority memory was too expensive.

I love my Vita have multiple units.
Amazing what models do you have? And why do you think it wasn’t as successful as it could have been?

Still running like new
Nice what model do you have ?
@purepsx first one I it's crazy the technology the Vita have for the time and still don't have the support to have a good success
Sony portable is vita 2 because physical games are coming to end downloading games and cloud playing
It's the feature it's here
Sad to said
