@DagnalDiagonal yeah I definitely enjoyed seeing my country losing to F****** Benin (with all my respect to them) in the 2019 afcon ro16. Yet again, what an façon it was
And I thought that the 2011 Copa America was crazy when Paraguay reached the final against Uruguay without winning A SINGLE GAME for the entire tournament.
@@DagnalDiagonal yeah it was 100% a thing that happened - they DREW all their way to a Final - and I'm still in shock every time I'm reminded about it to this day.
The Nigeria vs South Africa game was also a funny game because Nigeria scored at the 85th minute of the game to make the break(at least they thought) and then var overturns the goal gives a penalty to South Africa which they scored to send it to extra time.
I'm trying to transition to more football stuff while figuring out how to edit these types of videos and finding what football topics interest me. I'm glad you and others enjoy it :)
This year it was so entertaining one thing is that i noticed most players there were giving their all since its not for the money unlike europe the passion and intensity from players and atmosphere from the fans was incredible. 👏
You missed out on the drama in the Nigeria vs south africa game. The var decision that turned overturned a goal and gave a penalty on the other end. It was so tense that people actually died watching the game.
I remember one boring summer I just got drunk all day and watched all of AFCON 2017. I don't remember much from that period other than it being super entertaining, now I know that wasn't just because I was drunk
I'm so glad that RUclips put this video on the recommended page. Subsequently I've subscribed, because I share your enthusiasm for AFCON. Here's to you gaining many more subs. The Euros are next and C'mon England! 🏴
What a great video ❤️ The Afcon is really underrated tournament and I am so happy to see someone outside Africa talking about it. Coming from an Egyptian fan 😅❤️ 7 🏆🥇
For the Namibia Angola match foul, you can clearly see he makes contact on his foot which makes him collide with his own legs. Clear red the footage is grainy tho.
I’m from Scotland and I tell you afcon is the best international tournament ever made I always try and watch every game and it can be the most unpredictable tournament and that’s what makes it great
As an Egyptian, i am still traumatized by this AFCON. We used to roll over other African teams with ease, then we became very bad and then we became very good again with the salah squad (which sadly didn't win any AFCONS but at least made it to the finals multiple times) and then we got drawn by cape verde, a country that is smaller than alot of egyptian towns (in size and population), losing to DR Congo was such a disaster here it was as bad as brazil's 1-7 against Germany disaster, like you couldn't escape it in the news blaming the government and mo salah etc.
So amazing how the winning goal was scored by Sebastian Haller, on his home soil, managed by an assistant manger after their manager got sacked during the round of 16, after beating testicular cancer. This story, as a nigerian, was fire
Keep in mind there is a THIRD country in africa called Guinea, which is Guinea Bissau, who did not participate in the Round of 16 because they ended up fourth in the Group Stage where they lost 4 - 2 to Equatorial Guinea because of course they did.
what you mean Afcon is the best? Asian cup have so many qualities dramas this year i can hardly breath. Titles contenders fall off short, everyone try so hard to avoid Japan just for them to get humiliated by Iran, Jordan miracles run, hat-trick penalties in the final,... that quality content right there. I laughed so hard when Qatar get that third penalties, funniest shit I've ever seen.
AFCON 🇨🇮 was fire because it was like a Netflix script the banters ( Cote d'Ivoire Vs Cameroon / Ghana- Nigeria/ Côte d'Ivoire -Mali / Côte d'Ivoire -Senegal... )between different countries - the amazing mascot - the songs - the amazing journey of 🇨🇮
One thing no one and I mean no one has realized is that AFCON is the best because it’s played mid season. The players aren’t gassed out from a whole year of football so that also add to the unpredictable and the enjoyment of the tournament. I mean just look at how the winter cup took everyone by surprise that was because all the players were in tip top shape bursting with energy unlike when the tourneys are at the end of the season and from the very first game you can tell the players are tired and just want to get over it.
Afcon is the reason why gambling exist 😂😂😂😂 anyone can win The qualifiers as well uffffff chefs kiss. I think the qualifiers are even more entertaining than the main tournament. One thing if I still remember properly is that they use head to head as well 🤣🤣🤣 the drama that creates is soooo heartbreaking it had to be taken away from the uefa champs league 😂😂😂
There is also a very strange shot that you did not talk about. In the match between Nigeria and South Africa, Osimhen scored the second goal for Nigeria in the last minutes, but this goal was canceled because a penalty kick was awarded to South Africa for the same attack 😂. Imagine that a goal was disallowed for your team and a penalty kick was awarded to the opponent at the same moment 😂😂
😂😂😂 some of these groups results aren't surprising if you look at the longer history of some of these nations. If you only look at rankings then Algeria had an easier group. The best part of Afcon is the HATRED. Seeing your enemies fail is more rewarding than actually winning 😂😂😂 And you should included all the memes 😂
People don't understand that the physicality of afcon is unmatched. Mo Salah regularly looks like he's a player of average speed when he plays in the Afcon. Thats the true issue most of the African players are extremely strong and fast. Most of the European teams would get doggwalked vecause they would not be able to keep up with the pace the strenght and the heat. Thats the simple truth
@@kaiblade760 colonialism, europe had the headstart, taking Africa resources, and use them to improve their economy , therefore infrastructure, then improve at football, meanwhile africa is still struggling at this moment to create even hospitals, let alone football infrastructure

Amazing video. AFCON is so entertaining, because so many random things are happening. I remember when Ivory Coast was in a final that went to penalties (I think it was 2015, but I could be wrong). Gervinho took his penalty and for the rest of the shootout he sat on a plastic garden chair we all have at home 😂 Also I was hoping you would show Gambias 3-3 against Cameroon where the gambian player literally volleyballed the ball in the goal and went celebrating like crazy just for it to get taken back by VAR. When he recieved the yellow for the handball he just smiled to the ref 😂
It's crazy how many moments I missed, i'm a little upset about it tbh. Some highlights didn't even make it to the official AFCON page on youtube, like red cards
