A quick question were you have used epoxy glue to bond the ply in place. Does the poly bond to it where you have rounded off the edges to form your fillet?
Great progress. When appropriate, give a time and cost estimate for each phase of the transom repair. Three fibre glassed layers. Gluing, fibre glass, fairing. Inside hull fibre glass and stringers. How's the power outages and utility upgrade work progressing/ed?
You sir have talked me into getting a boat, not a fixer upper, one I can use straight up but you have been alot of the inspo. Thankyou for the videos 🙏
Hey mate, non stop watching your videos. Good work & very helpful info. Got a question if I may, where did you get those 1708 ? Saw a few online but not sure which is reliable. Thanks
Great work. That should be very strong. Don't forget to fill the holes you had to do for the nuts/bolts! That would be sad the new plywood gets damp and eventually rotten.
That is a lot of air in the top of that transom you should grind it all off, radius the plywood than go 2 layers of 400gram double bias The chop mat over the radus is whats causing the air under the laminate
Hi Micheal, thanks for commenting, the glass between layers creates more structural reinforcement to the transom as it’s laminated to the bottom of the hull and to the sides locking everything in. Yes it may be fine but the only structure you have when gluing them all in together is the glue from the outer skin to the ply and the fibreglass sealing the inner side. It’s going to have a lot of weight at the back, I want it strong 💪🏽
@@AngryMackAdventures I don’t work for Haines hunter but it just looks like a a lot of extra work that doesn’t really do anything in my eyes. You’ve only really now created a gavity of Timber to firbeglass to clue to timber again.

Hey Gary thanks for the comment, yep that it getting ground off prior to getting layers of glass to outside of the transom!
Why are you fibreglassing between layers? You know that two/three Timbers laminated together is perfect. Fibreglass outside and fibreglass inside.
