Yes, it absolutely does. Definitely NOT loud at all. People saying it's loud....LOL! It's meant to collect/suction the nail dust so of course it's not going to be silent. You can have a normal conversation without any issues while operating it. It's white noise which can be very calming for some.🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🙄🤣

There are 2 options, I like to use the slower one when I am filing slow but for acrylic removal I put it on the fast option 💞
