I own a 36mm Ahoi Neomatik Atlantik that I bought new in 2017. It is fantastic, I love that watch to death. This new iteration also looks cool, albeit a little less under the radar.
I like these new Ahois. There's nothing revolutionary about them, but I like the new color scheme way more than that of the outgoing model. The only thing I would not do is to call them dive watches, because they are not, for obvious reasons. But they seem to be great allrounder watches that don't mind a splash. Writing this with my old Tangente Sport on the wrist ... ;-)
4:35 They don’t have a quick set date, but you can do the date hack. If you set the clock to 9 PM then to 12 PM then back to 9 PM you can to change the date on the window quickly.
I have a Tangente Datum and was shocked to discover that it didn't have a quick date set. Any cheapest watch I had - have it. The simplest Seiko. In addition the long long lugs are really too big. I can't wear their bigger watches. I also prefer central seconds to small seconds. Apart from it they are fantastic. Very slim.
I had been looking at the Ahoi 567 since last summer, and finally pulled the trigger this last weekend. I really enjoy it! 😊 One thing not mentioned in this otherwise great video is how well the dial plays with different lighting, and shimmers from lighter(ish) blue to more purple and matte nuances.
Great review. Ahoi, however, is a glorified Tangete with water resistance. It is way too expensive and getting close to the prices of Breitling or Omega. I have a Nomos (Tangete) and a lot of respect for it, but Nomos is not in the same league as Breitling or Omega. One would argue that Nomos Ahoi has an in-house movement and similar pieces from Breitling or Omega is double the price of Ahoi. The key point to remember is that the watch and the movement does not actually contribute to the actual price. It is the brand name that arguably commands the price in the luxury world. Nomos does not have the same level of brand recognition.
With all due respect, brand recognition is for resale and flexing. Resale issues can be alleviated with a bit of negotiation or preowned. Flexing would not be an issue among “watch people”. With that said, Omega are undervalued, but unfortunately they are correcting that. Breitling are still finding their ways.
I would take an Ahoi over an Aqua Terra any day. The Omega is chunky and the design is to be honest neither classic nor timeless, it's always just a bit dated.
Not sure who this is aimed at really. Its basically a dress watch with a 200 m capability. Surely, that depth is best suited to dive watches not dress watches. Would look better with a leather strap or steel bracelet too. Good presentation though.
@@Timeandtidewatches yup, that’s the beauty of German machines. People have made the same mistake with bmw msport and m division cars forever, judging a book by its cover.
I have had 4, they are not fragile movements at all, quite the opposite. I wear them for almost every activity and haven't had a problem ever. Every Nomos is adjusted in 6 positions and all mine have been cosc or better. They do magnetize easily but so would any other magnetic material behind a sapphire glass. Stay away from strong magnets.

A Nomos with 200 m WR is a dream! I’m a Nomos fan and wear either the Ludwig or a Patek Calatrava 3796.
Someone call Nomos. That purple matte shown in your video due looks amazing. They need to make one like that in the video. Classy.

I am wearing the smaller Ahoi Atlantic. It's my everyday watch and it keeps very accurate time. I highly recommend it.
Wonderful, thanks for sharing!
Very versatile watch, I enjoy wearing mine.

Wearing my Nomos Club Atlantik 776 😊
Welcome to the, uh, Club?
Love the Nomos designs but I just can't get over those long lugs.
Yup, same with Hamilton.

Or the club campus neomatik, theyve done this 200m water resistance for several years now.

The larger Ahoi's weight is quite "nice" indeed 😉
👀👀
The club neumatik is also 200m and even more stealth about it.
Borna is the best host on Time and Tide
Nomos is a small representation of german philosophy.
Look like nothing remarkable, but be surprisingly capable.
Absolutely true
200m of water resistance, only 8,8mm height and automatic inhouse movement:
Nomos? - No, Zenith Rainbow Elite from the late 90's!
Love them Elites, the perennial Zenith sleeper
Have zenith’s and NOMOS.
Two different group.
It’s like taking a cabriolet to an amg swap meet
My Club Neomatik is 200M wr and only 8.4mm thick, astounding for an auto with display back.
I adore these watches but will never be able to afford one
Get a manual pre own club. Probably can get it just under 1000 and be a daily wear for many years
A nice replacement for the 552 with a bit more serious look because of the neutral colored watch hands.
Seestern can do that too.

Breitling ha ha :D
The club is even more slim and still provides 200m WR so this. Watch is thicker then the club and about 1000€ more so why tf
⌚️🔬🎩🔝👍
Thanks, we think 🦃🐚🌬

It looks like a watch you get for free with a monthly subscription of your favorite magazine.
Till you flip it (and put on your glasses)
@@Timeandtidewatches maybe but normally I do not wear a flipped watch on my wrist 😂

one of the higher end kraut brands i see
Nomos loses me when they try and play in Omega price range.
Which Omega?
Not according to FP Journe himself.
It looks exactly like every other nomos. Like a DW 🥱🥱
Nomie life is a definite vibe y’all
It would be a nice add-on if the watch wasn´t from a company which is anti-democratic.
Huh?
Seriously, what do you mean?
Trololololo
What?
Non quick set date, fragile movements and people receiving magnetized watches, I'll pass
