    You've taken the first step in a larger world.,..

    There is a setting in Babu Frik's to lock the camera in the hangar now ;)

    TFTC really is (imho) best experienced with VR! I did the classic campaign with a Vive, joystick, and keyboard and it's just the best. The fluid ability to watch and track targets around you is hard to describe to someone that only plays with a monitor. Every ship feels more massive and immediate, the layout of an engagement more comprehensible and instinctive to react to.

    Y'know, Angel, if you crafted a helmet that was to scale with your virtual "visor," you'd look like a bobblehead. That said, this looks FANTASTIC. Thank you for sharing!

    Motion controls to fly looks sub-optimal. I would just use the hotas.

      I think with practice I could get reasonably good at this, but I agree it doesn't beat HOTAS control. I simply wanted to truly experience a full VR flight :)

      @@ange1uk I would argue "Full VR Flight" is using the Hotas in combination with VR.
      its simply the most realistic. Can you imagine the amount of x-wings coliding with each other in the Death Star trenches if they were all waving their hands in the air like Ewoks on drugs?

      Some input from someone who is both a big DCS nerd and also a big VTOL VR nerd:
      You don't miss the physical stick as much as you'd think if the virtual stick is tuned right. Granted, VTOL VR is built from the ground up for a virtual clicky cockpit and virtual HOTAS, so it gets things about as right as it's possible to with the hardware limits imposed by full VR.
      Believe me, I get it, I love my HOTAS to pieces even though it's getting older and I had to frankenstein it a bit, but I don't hate a well-made full-vr sim.
      Addendum: Good haptics covereth a multitude of sins.

    I would be amazed if your dedicated team could redo the cutscenes (but not the voices i guess heh)
    This is very impressive.
    I will replay the TFTC soon. I played your v1.0 reimagined version to the end, and you've made so many changes since that.

      We are already remaking the cutscenes :)

    Whoa, full motion controls? I assumed you'd still be using joystick & keyboard. How do the controls work??

      @tbirddddd 3 дня назад +1

      From my experience with VR games pressing buttons works very well with stereoscopic 3D, but operating a virtual joystick or wheel is very hard.
      So far I've only played TFTC is VR, but I use a HOTAS and keyboard. It's still much easier to play on a monitor, but being able to easily view your surroundings is fun.

    • @ange1uk
      @ange1uk  3 дня назад +1

      Well I did still end up using my keyboard for convenience :D
      The controls were cool, not THE most responsive thing when trying to press buttons but I think with some practice its possible to fly this reasonably well in VR without joystick or keyboard.

    As immersive (and slightly nauseating) this looks on screen, i've found that the visuals on all but the most modern and expensive high resolution VR headsets still suffer too much from the screen door effect for me to consider VR worthwhile. How noticeable is that for you here?

    • @ange1uk

      Screen door effect?

      @@ange1uk Guess your headset doesn't have that? What model are you using and at what resolution are you running it?
