I have just bought one of these from amazon. Model number is the same as yours but I too found the rollers to be a very bad design. If you tighten the screws the rollers lock up, if you slacken the screws there is every chance they will fall out after a short time. Also, the holes through the rollers is much larger than the screws so the roller flops about. I was also missing one roller. I intend to replace the bolts with shoulder bolts. The angles are all about 1deg less than they should be.

Really helpful video Andy, thanks for sharing. I’ve been using one of these for around a year now and was so impressed that a bought a second honing guide that is permanently set with rollers on the inside for doing plane blades.

      Thanks Doug,
Love the idea of a second guide, at that price - why not.
      Cheers

Thanks for another great Video Andy, I actually have these products, I ordered them a few months ago, sadly mines suffers from the alignment issue mentioned on other channels like Ben's (Hew&Awe) as when you clamp the blade into the dovetail unlike yours its out, if you use it you end up with an out of square but nice and sharp blade, after seeing others online with the same issue I think there was a bad batch, this is a shame as its otherwise a lovely made very nice product but I am sure not shipping back to China so I will try and file correct the dovetail to get it square and see how it goes, shame though, but again thanks for the great videos keep them coming!

Thank you for the feedback, and letting us know about the potential alignment issues.
Thats a shame, it sounds like a great device let down by poor quality control.
      Cheers

Brilliant vid i bought this setup some time ago, as you say the quality is very good and works very well it would be interesting to see what you think of the drillpro 3 in 1 dowel jig from bangood. liked and subscribed

Thank you for this, I can ask them to ping over the drillpro - it would be a good comparison with the pocket hole and domino and biscuit jointers.

Great video Andy. I've seen this jig on Banggood and wondered if it was any good. At around 17:30 where you lined up the blade against the jig to set the sharpening angle, did you find the resulting angle to be correct? In other words, if you set jig to 30 degrees, was the blade angle actually 30 degrees when you put it on your diamond stone?

      @TheWoodgrafter  5 месяцев назад

That’s a good question, I will check next time in the shop to see if the angle is accurate.

Hi Andy, thanks for another great review. If Banggood maintain this quality and price other manufacturers / suppliers beware.

Yes I think you are right, the bigger concern is will companies continue to drive R&D if they get undercut by lower cost, high quality products.

Useful video and looks a great product. I looked on Banggood and they only show the Moohoo kit? It looks identical and is only £26 plus postage so about £30 in the UK.
I haven't looked but is there a video on your sharpening station or on which diamond stones to use / brand comparisons?

      Hi,
Yes it is the Moohoo kit, I discuss the sharpening system in this video.

Things can be too good to be true. The price when delivered was just the honing guide and small ruler type angle guide. The angle fixture block is a separate purchase, even though the titles and images show all the items.
So anyone purchasing these beware they don’t come as a full set. I had to order them separately.
Frustrating but still just around £60 for the full kit.

@anonymouspdg6121 yes it comes in two parts. The web site isn’t that clear.
      Cheers

Haha, thanks Andy, it's an understatement to say the website isn't clear lol. The images on each product show the entire set and the title readings are also for the full set.
It took ages for them to reply to my messages but eventually they did and apologised and gave me a 400 point credit on my account. I have no idea what it is worth. 🤣
On a plus, the honing guide seems pretty decent quality and I will see how good it is once the final part arrives!
      Thanks for the useful reviews.
Maybe a video on how to use the Banggood website would help everyone?. 🤣🤣

I suggest people look up the Charlesworth (God rest his soul) Ruler Trick and you never need to lap the back of a plane iron ever, plane irons only not chisels. Also with a smoothing plane you need to introduce a slight curvature on the blade otherwise you will leave tracks down your work. To achieve this on your finest stone you need to take a few strokes applying pressure to to each side. This will produce a miniscule camber on your blade and will avoid plane tracks.

Bought 1 through Fruugo . At least it wasn't a $6000 combination machine this time . Chinese garbage . No bearings or bushings in the wheels ground flats as soon as I tried to use it because the bolts tightened up as I used it .

      That’s a shame.
I t does appear that different people are having different mileage with the products from Bangood- it may be a quality control issue on early products.
How long ago was it ?
      Cheers
