    Wing Chun is a very unique and scientific form of martial arts. Wing Chun is a style of Kung Fu that originates from China, the martial art was later refined in Hong Kong by the late Ip Man. Wing Chun's specialty is in close contact combat, using quick punches and kicks with a tight defence, coordinated through agile stances and footwork for a quick advance. The effectiveness of this fighting style is achieved by well coordinated attacks with simultaneous defence and vise versa. Due to its effectiveness this martial art makes for an effective form of self defence. The student must learn to deliver the correct amount of energy or force, whilst staying relaxed when possible. A good Sifu (instructor / teacher) will teach the student to overcome force and strength with positioning and turning rather than meeting it head on. The style uses kicks, sweeps, elbows, palm strikes, punches, trapping and control techniques as part of its fighting arsenal.

      appreciate your feedback on the Wooden Dummy Form. While our approach may differ from traditional lineages, we focus on adapting techniques to fit the needs of our students, promoting effective application in real-life scenarios. Mastery in Wing Chun often involves personal interpretation of forms to enhance learning and adaptability. I invite you to explore our resources and videos that delve deeper into the principles behind our training. For more insights, check out our website: www.wingchunmaster.tv. This is my favorite martial arts technique as you can win fights with blocks. Several times in real life situations the opponent merely gives up out of frustration and begins to try anything including slaps to reach my face.

    There are no best martial art in the world. Some narrow minded assholes just won't accept other styles. Wing Chun is not some flashy styles like TKD, boxing, it's designed to kill in a short time, it targets those vulnerable parts such as eyes, throat. If you are born a good fighter, any style works. A good fighter never get into a fight easily because they don't want to harm people, they only fight to save life. An ancient saying 'there are no invincible martial art in the world, the only key is speed', even if you got all your techniques and stuff to block, if you are not fast enough you will still get hit. Please respect other martial art, traditional Chinese kungfus are not just about fighting, it includes moral and respect. That's why you see in those kungfu movies, people show a left palm and a right fist before a fight, it is a sign for respect. Please respect others.

    • @graceabella8970
      @graceabella8970 10 лет назад

      yes i believe that wing chun is not the best martial art but wing chun is more defense than the others and try to watch young bruce lee, bruce lee practice wing chun and he invented the jeet kune do so now he is the dragon and the best martial artist in the world

    • @Crucial0365
      @Crucial0365 9 лет назад +1

      +Grace Abella he is in the media world, however in real life there are many people who started martial art from when they are young until they die like bruce lee, so there are many unknown great fighters

    • @patarikisoterion9899
      @patarikisoterion9899 7 лет назад +2

      Grace Abella no Wing Chun is a complete system that incorporates both defence and attack simultaneously. It is both short and long range it's not just a close infighting system. It is a conceptual art and is not limited to mere techniques. It is unlimited in its fighting application. And the internal aspects make it near perfect as a martial art.

    BEST ANSWER on this subject: I do not like to get in the habit of saying one style is better than others. In regards to karate as a sport-I believe tournament compeition, that while it has some benefits, it does create a mindset and habits that will not work for actual combat. I also agree that when you can not attck the joints, eyes, throat, fingers, groin, etc that a true martial artist would not be able to effectively use their style.

    This is really great! It would be good if you could have a lesson teaching us about weak spots, such as the armpits etc......

    • @masterwong101
      @masterwong101  6 месяцев назад

      Absolutely, understanding weak spots can give you a strategic advantage in self-defense. Targeting vulnerable areas like the armpits, groin, or throat can quickly incapacitate an attacker. It's all about high-impact targets and vital organs. In our upcoming lessons, we'll delve into these techniques in detail. Stay tuned, and keep training hard!

    @TheMartialArtsJedi When I say "self taught," I mean he learned WC without an instructor, likely through books, videos, and seminars. I got his Chum Kiu DVD, and I know he doesn't go very deep into theory, only into application and some energy drills. I know that his Wing Chun is not Yip Man version, but I'm curious to know where he picked up JKD, which IS from Yip Man Wing Chun? Where'd he learn? Students (i.e. paying customers) deserve to know his credentials.

    Finally, I learned Tai Chi for 6 months and I look beyond when I show some friends those move at my workplace. I have a wing chun dummy at home and it hurts me... i will try harder
    Yes, I love the arts and I never fight. The aim is to look hot. I respect all kinds of martial arts.

      @mikein60fpstwitch.tvaliber73 3 года назад

      Neither and all. There is no "best martial art". You can come to this conclusion after doing different styles and years of training. Do what works good for you, hopefully you gain , "health", stamina and skill/precision in whatever you train. You train in "fighting" and in a few years you will be good at it/really simple. Sorry it only took 9 years to get a answer 🤷🙏 best of luck on your/anyone's martial journey, -Cheers

    Hey master wong. Which wing Chun lineage did you study under? I never seen this variation of the wing chun Dummy form. The way I Usually start with the Wu sau hits the Dummy arm upwards followed up by a neck pulling hand. In this case the Fook sau. Then a bong sau to the left arm and tan sau to palm strike to the body. And then you carry on from there.

      +FREE DOM Technically there are. Ip Man taught a lot of people and he didn't teach all of them the same way.

    How do I get the DVD? It must be an ancient Chinese secret because it seems like no one knows. It's not like he put the video here to sell his DVD's or something. ... What a mystery!!

    "...would be known-" To the individuals who do not research, pass on the knowledge, and who choose to not do so knowing he exists already. Ip Man existed, has done great, great things along the lines of every other national hero. He would have been known regardless. It can be said "I < wouldn't have known if it were not for Bruce Lee," but it's considered...frowned upon to speak otherwise by some. Just my two cents.
