This microphone sounds really impressive of for the price point! Even with no filters on with the XLR input, it does have a nice, balanced sound quality to it. Definitely a big plus that it comes with software to help those who may not have much experience doing any sort of EQ to their microphones for content creation or streaming. As always, great video and looking forward to the next one!
Appreciate your input and comments as always!! And IKR sure it's FAR from perfect but for £65 it's such an impressive little mic for a beginner or low budget creator.. I even like how it looks

Appreciate you checking out the video!!! I'm always suprised when people watch n listen to the stuff I put out there 😅 . . This mic is pretty great though!! Sure... its not perfect but for the price it's a pretty solid option.. a HUGE upgrade from headphone mics n built on audio etc..
Thank you, i'm Glad it was useful! 🔥 I actually record most of my audio directly into premiere pro! I just sync it to the camera when I'm editing... My setup When I'm not using USB, Mic > GoXLR > Record in premiere and then to finish add a Limiter set to -5db Specifically I like to add "Loudmax" limiter I think I have a video on that VST on here somewhere
I honestly would have thought the same until I made this video. I was so suprised at how good the Maono sounds in comparison to the Fifine.. & Has Way better preamps too IMO if youre using it via USB..
This entire video has a PC about 2 feet away from it 😅 (my pc is next to my camera) I'd imagine the ps5 would sound similar to when I plugged it into my phone though as I can't use filters on that like I can via my GoXLR or OBS etc I should do a short or tiktok doing a test like this though 🤔
I love it. The sound quality is really worth the price. I plugged my headphones into the mic and found that it sounded better than the B450M Steel Legend's audio onbard. It's like buying a mic and getting a sound card🥰
Thanks for the great review! I have a question that I haven't seen covered regarding the app - are the settings saved on the microphone or on the computer? If I change settings and move to another computer which doesn't have the app installed, will it sound the same? Or will it go back to the default settings?
Hey, which one is better am8 or pd200x for normal youtube videos when my mouth will be 4-6inches away from the mic and for some casual occasional singing? Which has better noise cancellation? And if i can EQ the sharpness of the pd200x to lower it? Why I'm confused? Am8 sounds flat and muddy at times, but pd200x has a very nasally voice and the highs are very sharp too My voice is quite normal, with a lil inclination towards deep, so now which would be better for me considering all of the above points?
Siblence is basically harsher higher frequency sounds... Often appear in audio when people say "S", "T", "Ch" or sometimes "Z" sounding words.. Church for example
Its better IMO.. I did a review on the k688 and I believe the AM8 and K688 use the same audio capsule but in different bodies so they should sound the same.. The Fifine mics struggle with plosives (P&B sounds) As well as being a bit harsh on the highs.. + USB preamp was too quiet.. Where as this feels a bit more well rounded AND the USB preamp was way louder n cleaner. Great for how cheap it is! (I'm currently testing the PD400x which is Even better)
Does the dual output (USB & XLR) of PD200X operate alternately or can they be used simultaneously? If they can be used simultaneously, is it possible as a backup in case one of them encounters an issue? How about K688? Can the USB & XLR be used simultaneously? I appreciate your help
I have the PD200X but after tweaking it for awhile in OBS Studio, I could never get it to sound right. I actually got my Blue Snowball mic to sound better in OBS so I kept it hooked up and put the Maono away for now... lol
@mt6989 Agreed a lot of people will dislike that.. I kinda like that I'm less likely to accidentally press it.. but also it now makes a noise when i press it which isn't ideal 🙃
It could defo be better for sure but for $80 it's not too bad.. I'm still trying to find the best mic around that price range Apparently the Fduce SL40 is supposed to be good so I might pick one of those up to compare 🤔 (Might be XLR only though)
@@ajsarsfield I think if u could turn up the budget a bit at around $100 and u have the ability to EQ, I would recommend se electronics v7. It has an aluminium voice coil that makes it capture a really detail sound with a wide range of freq range (40hz-19khz) almost like a condenser. Its originally designed for a singer so I dont think its default character is the best for talking podcast or live streaming purpose but with an EQ u could freely change the characteristic of this mic and it will smoke others mic due to its detail sound.
@@ajsarsfield Damnn. You right, my bad hahaha My maono just arrived and via USB doesnt sound like yours. Any chance you have created a video showing your EQ for pD200x? Ty
Itll probably be different for every voice.. But on mine I added a compressor 4:1 ratio and -20db threshold.. (Obviously increase output gain to hit around -6db) And then for EQ Bump the bass up a bit (125hz) Lower the mids (0.5khz) And then slightly raise treble (8k) Don't forget a limiter too, so you avoid clipping

WOAH! this mic is what exactly I've been waiting for all these times!!! thanks for the deep review.

Its such a good mic for the price 🔥
I recommend it to everyone over the similar Fifine options 🤭
You're such an inspiration and I might have to check out this mic especially for content creation

I would love to see this as well. USB, no filters and background noise (like a fan or people talking loudly in another room).
For the Moano software can I use it for like talking to my friends on discord or is it just to record videos and stream

Nice video! I would choose MAONO because this product is cost-effective and has very high functional configuration.

Any advice for reducing sibilance. I have the pd200x plugged via xlr and recording in audacity I’ve noticed the sibilance is quite high..
