The most important part about training core is mentally contracting your core/passive activation. Too many times I see people doing all types of core excersise with their stomachs loose. Tighten up, hold the tightness, THEN begin. When you start passively activating your core during every excersise you'll notice you don't even need to do a lot of core workouts.

Me personally, I've never had an injury from doing diamond push-ups and I do them from the chest and sometimes from the nose. I also do inclined and declined diamonds.
That's all anecdotal but it's worked for me since high school. I wouldn't just write them off completely because they will work just fine for some. Just varies from person to person.

Defining your “lower abs” is honestly mostly accomplished by diet. Many studies indicate that it’s negligible when you look at the results of incorporate exercises that claim to “preferentially recruit” the low abs. Basically your entire rectus abdominis is recruited anytime you perform an abdominal exercise. Isolation attempts also incorporate the hip flexors as well so it’s hard to say one way or the other.

    • @StrictlyforSwagBucks

But in order to define a muscle it still needs to be developed to some degree right? Which in turn is what exercising would do. And then eating right would define the muscles you have. Thank you for the info! I used to focus on individual ab exercises but then I'd be so tired once it came to doing these that I wouldn't be able to do any. Nice I can target all at once. P.S. - Beautiful puppy. Looks just like mine lol. German shepherds are the best!

This and Russian twists with a dumbell is the only 2 ab exercises you'll ever need.Btw no such thing as lower abs. It's all 1 muscle 💪

Dead ass, and It is all one muscle true, with different muscle insertions or different heads of the muscle basically. Its like how the tricep has three different muscle heads (Tri = 3) or Bicep (Bi = 2). Just a different part of the same muscle

I did all the compex shit for my abs, leg raises, bicycle crunches, russian twists, etc.
None of them built my abs as much as sit ups did.

I believe it, Sit ups are amazing for our abs! They just neglect the other muscles of our core that all add to the "ABs"aesthetic.
