I read this at my daughter's cremation. It fitted well.
oh my dear
This poem lands so very softly. Just wow.
I'm reading this tonight having just learned of Mary Oliver's passing - we were so fortunate
to have her amazing poetry and understanding of all things in the natural world - they will stay
forever in us -
This one of the most beautiful things ive ever seen and heard. Touches my soul on a level i didnt even know exists...
I'm happy you enjoyed it Johanna! :)
The wonderment of your writing is so lovely..as often as I have read the Wild Geese...it is as touching as the first..
Thank you 🍃🌸🍃
this is so beautiful it touches my soul and i'm crying thank you
My go to video when I need to decompress
Evocative..elegant...powerful !
Lovely 😊 Mary Oliver’s voice and poetry softens my heart and mind🙏
“Announcing your place at the family of things“ - anyone have any takes on what this might mean? 🤔
We all have a place in this world, no matter how lonely we are, or think we are ("tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine). The family of things = the world, the Universe. Nature always points us in the right direction.
Could we use this video in worship this Sunday? (We're on Zoom because of the Pandemic.)
Bravo!
😢❤❤❤
awesome poem! does anyone know the name of the music used?
ellie kate there’s a music website at bottom of end credits frame where you’ll most likely find the composer info!

Wonderful poem but the birds in the vid appear to be swans rather than geese.

Mary Oliver's words are enough. The power and beauty of 'Wild Geese' is purely and simply in the words. I am offended by this version: it is too busy. There is too much noise. Too much action. Too many distractions.
