Animal Crossing - Rainy Day Theme (10 Hours with rain sounds)

- This is the Rainy Day Theme from the original Animal Crossing on a loop with the rain sounds ripped from the game. I also captured some game footage to loop.
I made this more for myself but I figured I would share it.
Good for relaxing.

Never played this game as a kid. Got it for my wife after she hit a rough spot in her life, and there was little else I could do for her except help her go back in time mentally. I would fall asleep while she played, especially if it was raining and this song was on. We’ve been together 7yrs this year and those Animal Crossing naps are still one of my favorite memories. I play it every time I’m home and it’s raining :^)
reading this made my fucking day thanks!
thats sweet. i remember playing the gamecube version as a 12 y/o kid being one of my favorite childhood memories. unfortunately i dont have anyone to share the experience/memory with except an old childhood friend i haven't seen or talked to in 20 years.
Absolutely beautiful. A lovely husband for sure!
hopefully smoked some jack herer with it no? lol Thank you for this. Love language is about understanding differing needs and talking in their language. Your emotional intelligence is off the charts. Shes a lucky woman.
You know what I loved? Umbrellas weren't necessary; they were just flavor. But you would still carry one just for the immersion. They even did that useless spinny thing just for the sake of having a needless interaction with the umbrella. Gamecube Animal Crossing was just bliss.
If you were out too long in summer without an umbrella you would slowly get sunburnt :')
@@TofuSG98you just unlocked a core memory for me!!! I forgot about tanning 🤣🤣🤣
that happens in new leaf too and i love it lol
IT DOES? Omggg I never knew that!
Can also time spinning umbrella to bounce off bees and then they despawn like if you scared off any other bug by running at it! That was one my favorite little things I found and my brothers always clowned on me having an umbrella on my character!
I remember falling asleep to the title screen of this game as a kid and waking up every few minutes to the high pitched "NINTENDO!"
For the randomly deep pitched kind of robot sounding one "NEEN-ten-DO
and "choo-choo!"
this hit me in a place I didn't remember until now. I think I did the exact same thing.
I appreciate that feel.
Did you ever listen to the remix where you would open the gamecube at a certain point?
Would purposefully leave on GC before bed for this very tune
This is a Certified Hood Classic.
I read this and was screaming
This would calm things down in the hood.
a certified hood-and-umbrella crossing
No
@@andymcclurg9916 yes
The original animal crossing still has the best soundtrack
It's just THE best period 😉
Facts
This is the truth.
Such a cozy tune. One of my favorite little details in the first game was when you actually got to go inside the lighthouse to turn it on.
I’m sorry what????
@@iscremforjayvonmonro In the first Animal Crossing game there was a job you could get from Tortimer when he went on vacation for a week. Every evening at 7pm you could enter the lighthouse and throw a large switch to turn it on. If you did it every day he was gone you got a special gift from Tortimer when he got back.
It was just a tiny round room with the switch on one side and a large turning mechanism in the middle. But there was a satisfying powering up sound when you turned it on.
Omg i forgot about this
Ohhh I never knew you could do that, that's cool
oh my god memory unlocked
I miss the time in my life I played this game 😭
Why not pick it back up!
@@br3akstuff Picking it back up won't bring back that time in their life.
Nostalgia starts at like 16 and never goes away till the day you die. Take that from a 29 year old.
@@br3akstuff this is a good idea nonetheless.
Same!!! It’s about that Time period. Finishing homework and playing this.. Also, OG animal crossing had a particular feeling. The new one is awesome, don’t get me wrong but this was special
I had a really rough time in college. Struggled with being overwhelmed, homesick, and I was diagnosed with depression. I played this game whenever I needed to just feel calm and at peace. Not going to lie, this game helped me through 4 of the most challenging years of my life. Thank you, Nintendo. 💚
This was my exact experience, but in uni. Animal Crossing was a real lifesaver. Could feel like utter crap, not be able to fall asleep or not wanting to be awake, but my little town was always there.
ill never forget playing this in my bedroom during mid summer as a kid, i had been playing animal crossing every day that summer, and one day, there was a bad storm. it was 3PM and it looked like nighttime out my window, with the occasional flash of lightning, followed by the rumble of the thunder as the rain beat down on my window.
i love the rain, and the moods it brings, so i turned off all my lights and closed my door, and sat down on the floor. the only light in my room came from the faint glow that could make it past the thick clouds, and my tv. as i got into my town, i came to find that it was also a rainy day in my old town of "Hyrule". I played a bit, but most of that play session was just me standing still, savoring the music from the tv that matched the weather in real life as i watched the clouds out of my window.
I'll never forget this memory, and is one of the strongest factors as to why i wish animal crossing would implement realistic weather into the series.
Thank you for making this Ad free. My wife loves falling to sleep with this playing in the background. It plays in my bedroom quietly all night uninterrupted. It makes her very happy! ❤️❤️
Reading everyone’s animal crossing stories warms my heart ❤
Me too!
Anytime it rains irl for the last 17 or so years I think of this. The later rain themes never stuck like this one for some reason
this is my favit song by this game
Probably because no other animal crossing game had a song exclusive to rain. It was all just rainy variants of hourly music.
Gamecube Animal Crossing makes me feel like I am in middle school again and its the weekend. You take turns playing with a friend, or even your cousin, and next thing you know its 2am. Eventually your friend falls asleep, but you are still playing. Its raining in the game, but its sunny because you would go to the settings from the title screen and change the date/time to whatever you pleased because you didn't care back then. Time in real life seems to stand still. It's just you and this game until the sleepiness overcomes you. Then you wake up to a new day feeling refreshed and ready to play some more lol.
Almost brought a tear to my eye 🥲🥰
That was such a cute, relatable, and eloquent short story describing our childhoods. 👏😭💖
I'm 37 I still play animal crossing til this day. Started in 2002 and now it's 2023 and my kids love it as well. ❤ Some great therapy lol.
It makes you feel something
Yo I watch your videos
I wish the new animal crossing music sounded like this...
I wish the new animal crossing was anywhere near as good! I mean there are certainly features in the newer games that are nice quality of life improvements but I gave up on New horizons about 9 months into playing. There's just nothing to do. The dialogue with the villagers never improved just tutorial types stuff, basic and boring they've taken out the grumpy villager mechanic, they've taken out resetti even though he could have easily filled some other role just for nostalgic purposes, there's the few basic things you can do everyday the island is kind of small when you think about it especially when compared with previous towns, gold tools being garbage is really unfortunate, the crafting gets old, and the fact there's no upgrades for the store is just criminal
@@RabidNemo couldn't have said it better myself. I reaaaally loved ACWW, NH just doesn't nail the vibe for me
@@LexxiKitty very well stated! New horizons just feels blah to me it's like they took a unique, fun, and engaging series and ran it through the corporate ringer so hard that it finally "broke"I don't think there's been any animal crossing where I've had a harder time getting a set of furniture and the fact that you can't upgrade the store is abysmal. Plus I haven't heard of them releasing new cartridges with the updates included on the cartridge which means that 20 years from now if you go to play animal crossing on the switch and your switch doesn't have that content downloaded you're just going to be out of luck to a massive amount of features
@@RabidNemo oh wow seriously, I had no idea, that's pure garbage!! Tbh I have a much better time reliving memories on older AC games. New horizons puts a lovely lick of paint on graphics, and gives us more customisation but takes away our quirky, angsty, funny villagers, getting to do little errands for them and such.. I do think the villager interaction is the biggest kick in the teeth, everyone is sooo nice and sugary. Only the nice personalities should be like that!! They purposely held back content that should've been base game to try stir continual hype and create longevity, it's so so frustrating to see this happen
@@RabidNemo oh also, I feel you on the furniture sets - the only way I get to complete one usually is via Happy Island DLC, buying them, because the 3 item rotation instore just isn't enough each day to find set pieces. I miss that feeling of progression and your town feeling bigger, more improved, due to your spending and dedication. No reason for no store upgrade... :(
4 mins before i have to get ready for my job, ill tell you this.
I went to sleep with this on and just slept, the only thing that woke me up was my alarm but then i fell back asleep for 2 more hours and woke back up to this and just jammed for a little bit at the edge of my bed. I was just thinking of the time as a kid. When i would get frustrated at catching fish.
When that was my worry in the world, now im older. Things have changed so much and it just left me nostalgic for my childhood i think that is why i am so hyped up for the new animal crossing update. When i play this game it takes me back to a simpler time when i didnt have bills, people and the world leaning on me for them. It was about me and MY fun. It was about me being a kid. Never let that childhood happiness go, You are not you, when you are unhappy.
Thanks so much-
Juju
This was nice, thank you
I wish there were a way to make sounds quieter in New Horizons, boosting the BGM a bit. That's something that I loved about the original, it was fairly quiet on those rainy days, from what I remember. It's really noisy living on an island. Can't escape the ocean noise.
Exactly except for me it’s the hourly music that’s too loud. And the waterfalls. Like even in a video game I don’t want to go out because it’s loud 😆 GameCube it was softer like you say
I just wish they would fix more
Maybe just put the actual game on mute and have the original animal crossing music play from your speaker or phone
@@cameronjameskissell I've done this lol, it's great
Damn wind is too loud
i used to fake being sick in grade 6 so i could stay home and obsessively play this game all day. man this song really takes me back
So I didn't always fake sick to specifically play this game although it was one of the ones I played. I would however get up later at night to play it and I remember one time I called my dad (parents were divorced) to get advice on certain things and one of the things I was afraid of was shaking trees because of the bees. Some of the greatest life advice I ever got from him was sometimes you have to risk bees in order to get ahead
One time I faked sick for like 2 days, and less than a week later I got a UTI (was 14 then, figured it was just irritated by the chlorine from being in swimming) that rapidly developed into a kidney infection. I almost died. I had a fever that they couldn't control so at least it was obvious I wasn't faking it. Learned no lessons from that.
me too lol
I may not have been an Animal Crossing fan, but my family sure was back in the early 2000s. I can remember my younger sister imitating the piano melody when going outside on rainy days and hearing it again here really brings those simpler times to life.
The gamecube animal crossing, still to this very day, stands clear above the rest. why? The atmosphere and vibe it gives off are unlike the rest of the games. Your only goal is to do what makes you happy.
The villagers had more of a personality. I like that part. Only thing about the GC version is, I can't stand to play it because everything is too slow. I'm spoiled now. Takes to long to switch tools, load, things like that.
It's really slow paced (which may be a good or bad thing depending on preference). There also isn't all that much to do compared to future games. But I agree that it has a unique atmosphere that was never recaptured in later games. For me personally, this is the only Animal Crossing game I was able to really get into. And it's because of that unique vibe. Later games didn't hook me in the same way
I wonder what it is about the gamecube version that makes the vibe so much better. I think the exceptional OST is one large aspect. I also kinda liked how the screens would shift for some reason acre to acre, how the NPCs felt a lot more unique, how Wisp would come out at a time thats actually late ( first encounter sneaking playing at 3am was actually surprising) , and other rough edges like resetti being an actual asshole. Id just like to see them bring back the high vibes. THE MUSIC...
@@nevercanyoucant The reason it separates acres is because it is able to unload assets off-screen more easily, and then load them in just before you would transition to the next acre. It might also keep the cardinal direction acres loaded, or something similar to that, to prevent you from seeing things pop in should it lag.
you were all children, that's why, there's no magic or mystery. it's inside my brain also, i played it as a kid, but you gotta be self aware about it and not act like what we had was better in the good old days.
This has been a godsend whilst I'm trying to focus or study. IDK if it's the BPM or little snare in the back but it works so well! Thank you for making and sharing
same here! good luck in your studies!
Yes, it also is super relaxing at .75 or .50 speed if you're trying to sleep.
@@socksmccox1025 that's absurd
Hello i dont know if you will see this but this is one of the video that helps me sleep at night thanks so much
a year ago when i was doing my final high school exams this was my focus song - i would play it for like an hour straight when we had study classes so i wouldn't get distracted by my peers or anything lol. it helped a lot!
going to use it the same way for university now!!!
update: i'm back and i very recently got diagnosed with ADHD - the fact that i did those final high school exams without help or a diagnosis is crazy to me! i probably used this music to focus so much because it's familiar, quiet yet still stimulating and repetitive
This game really takes me back. I could remember playing this game everyday at one point for a while. My favorite memories were waking up super early to play before Tom nook opened shop and see the daily items he sells. The simplicity of this game is what sets it apart from others in the series. Truly the best game and soundtrack.
I remember going through a very bad mental health time in 2021 and playing this game. This rainy day theme brought me so much comfort. ☺️
There's something so nostalgic and comforting about this melody, probably because I remember playing this game as a kid and hearing it. I don't know why, but it just sounds better to me than any of the later rainy day themes and it's my favorite out of all of them for that reason.
but IMAGINE if nintendo decided to add this to that new switch online tier, I'd be so happy
this was a gamecube game, i don’t think gamecube games will be in the new tier
@@bronwynnharrison4113 Technically GC is next in line, is it not?
Nes > SNES > N64
@@jadduck i would expect Gameboy and GBA next, actually have a strong doubt after how long it took just to get N64 that we'll actually get GameCube on the Switch.
@@mercifulpancake5669 Oh yeah, of course. I don't think GC will come to SO at all lmao. Just saying that it was the next home-console in line.
GB/GBA is apparently rumored to be coming.
This won’t, they wouldn’t want to distract from sales of New Horizons
Brings me back to simpler times. There is something so magical about animal crossing. Nothing will beat the vibes playing this on the Gamecube with my brother, getting excited to finally try and catch a Coelacanth. Miss the Gamecube. Nothing will beat the simple joy of this game.
This was the first video game me and my aunt bonded over. She always loved video games, played all the OG zelda and mario games. But shes such a cozy gamer at heart and this was the first game ever that hit that spot for her. I will forever remember this game as the source of my very profound relationship with my aunt.
We literally still correspond through post mail, buy stationary letters and send each other random messages from time to time, pages and pages long. The little extra weight of the enveloppe was so satisfying to feel because that meant she tucked chocolate inside.
Urgh, now i feel like sending her a huge letter again.
Thanks so much for making this! It helps me fall asleep 😴
This perfectly encapsulates how it feels to wake up on a Saturday after a stressful week
It reminds me of the best times and then I fall asleeps
I cant tell you how badly I needed this to pop up on my dash today.
i literally sat through 2 hours of this while drawing with ZERO thoughts of switching the video. it was hypnotizing i couldnt close it and i still cant bc its so calm
I listen to this every time I get anxious. Really helps
While I still prefer the newer games, the original animal crossing has an atmosphere that has never been topped. From the characters to the music, the aesthetic was peak.
I miss how chill AC music used to be, having a dedicated song for rainy days and snowy days was always the best, now it's just.. "rainy day version of x hour music"
It didn't have a dedicated song for snowy days
Instead it would swap out the main instrumental for a glockenspiel and sleigh bells for the current hourly music
It did something similar with cherry blossom season as well!
All in all, I find it neat when rain/snow alter the hourly music! I do wish newer games would distinguish between the rain and snow themes a bit more, but what can you do I guess
?? that is literally 10x more effort lmao every animal crossing has done this besides the gamecube version. Ive been playing since the gamecube days - get the nostalgia glasses off.
@@0yal569 I've been here since the GameCube days too, chief, and all I was doing was expressing my opinion on the music between then and now. Get the dickhead glasses off, why don't you?

This game came out the same year I was born, I'm 20 now and so is this game. I kinda see it like a timestamp of my birth year; it's so special to me that I share my birth year with the creation of Animal Crossing, which is now one of my favorite games of all time.❤
And just like that, you made me feel old as heck lmao.
I was in elementary school when this came out. Glad AxC love is being passed down to the smaller people xx
I really appreciate the time and effort you spent into making this. I use it every time i'm doing homework or studying.
So much love for this game. I remember the bliss of my biggest worry being forgetting to check up on my old town. This song makes me smile, even today, during my lowest moods. Many sea bass were caught to this tune.
This game is the very essence of nostalgia for me. God it brings me back beautiful memories I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. Oh waking up to the smell of my grandmas coffee and cinnamon toast in the morning popping on that GameCube. Waking up on those rainy Saturday mornings with your friends on sleep over 🥺😭 TAKE ME BACK 😭😭😭😭😭
I really miss the first game’s soundtrack, I like the OST of acnh but I LOVE the original. It just hits different. What I would do to travel back to 2001 for just one day..
I've been playing this while working for the last 2 hours... Never gets old. Thanks for sharing with us all!
Aww the original graphics and everything. Good times I'm happy to have cozy memories of. I'm also happy to share these memories with many others.

Ah yes, _real_ Animal Crossing
Excuse me, but this isn't the "real Animal Crossing".
*It's the game sent from the Gods!*
(I don't actually believe in that stuff I promise)
Properly based
Thank you for making my writing and reading studying possible.
I remember collecting all of the little NES games and playing those all night long. Zelda, Punchout, og Mario. Good times
Fun fact this has been my go-to focus background music for the last month or so that I've listened to it for over 30 hours already
Brings me all the way back. Thank you!
I remember how stressful it was deleting game savings because this damn game took so much memory. Good o'l days
I like seeing people’s Animal Crossing stories. I was 15 when the first Animal Crossing came out. I still have the disc and memory from back then.
My girlfriend (now-wife) bought a Wii in college and I told her I’d get her some games, so I got her Animal Crossing City Folk because I remember liking the OG Animal Crossing in high school.
That became her favorite game and she wound up buying Wild World for DS so she could play it on the go.
The very first game she preordered was New Leaf right after our daughter was born, so she basically high jacked my 3DS on that day 😂
Down the line that turned into me and our kid getting our own copies. Then 2020 hit and we were gonna get our kid her own Switch with New Horizons for her birthday that year. But lockdown hit and we decided to get her an early birthday gift and we all got copies of New Horizons at launch and I surprised her with her copy being installed on her new Switch.
It’s still our go to family game.
I like how the part of the tune that plays from 8:55 - 9:09 is reused in ACWW as a KK song called "Forest Life". I bumped that track in the bedroom in the downstairs of my house in that game
that part of the song repeats thru the whole video 💀

Takes me back man I remember playing this when I was still in elementary school. New Horizons doesn't come close.
I've been really stressed out trying to move in order to be closer to my girlfriend, but this takes me back to when I was 10 years old, playing my gamecube without a care in the world except what wacky new things would happen in my town that day. Heh, I just realized that I'm going through a similar experience to the player character... moving to a new town, with no idea how things are going to turn out. I'm even traveling there by train! Sadly I don't expect I will meet a low polygon talking cat.
I made a song text for this, because I couldn't sleep well and made this text in my head:
"I am an orphan
since 12 years
I am depressed
laying in bed
You're tapping on my window
asking what's wrong with me
then you gave me all the love that I need"
For the people who are in the same situation: I wish you all the best and I hope you see, how much you do for yourself and others. It's okay to cry or to be mad; feeling are here to express ourselfes. Don't hide it from others and be the person who you are. You can do it
This soundscape is cozy beyond measure.
Love falling asleep to this, just very jarring when ads start playing. This is my comfort music though so it is what it is for this long of a version. 😅

I loved this game so much. It was the year the first spider man movie came out, and I played this every day just goofing off, messing with the villagers, getting bummed when my favorite would leave. I never really paid off my debt after like the third upgrade to the house, but I took my time. I remember getting up at certain times to participate in the events. I wish ACNH had some aspects like this, but I know they can only do so much and there’s no more updates.
This is nice to listen to--very sweet and I like the water sounds.
Urg I miss this music 😭 I know NH had “Forest Life” but it’s no where near the same
New Hampshire
Truth. The NH music does nothing for me compared to the classics. I can only pray that even if it's paid DLC you can switch to an old OST.
@@CDbiggen honestly i doubt they'll do anything with the dlc audio wise besides the music box and whatever thing they did for the happy home designer ripoff
@@bigpussyslayer69 agreed, I believe the creators of the new game aren’t as interested in the nostalgia factor this game brings to its fans. They did do us a lot of favors with this update, but I mean half of the features that were in the original game aren’t even in this one. Just confusing really
@@basedandchristpilled I still would not consider the update for NH to be big or "do us a lot of favors". Sit down and think about what they did. They gave us a bunch of new items no one asked for and gave us 2 short experiences out of the many we have been asking for, the roost and capn, then gave us a watered down version of the city which would be the back of harvs island.
Then the only big "new" experiences would be happy home paradise, except is locked behind a paywall.
Getting so many flashbacks to pretending to be sick to play this, or argue over who gets to use the GameCube, the excitement as a kid when you pay off your house fully... so funny how a game can make so many cozy and beautiful memories!
I would encourage everyone who started with NH to play the older games, especially the ORIGINAL. If you can get an emulator or even the Wii and GC to get their respective games, even DS for NL, it’s worth it.
I feel sad for all the people starting the series with New Horizons. They haven't a clue what they're missing out on. Sure, Wild World and New Leaf weren't that good, but the original game is untouchable perfection.
@@Ridley369 whaaaat Wild World and New Leaf weren't good? I mean it might not have the same vibe as gamecube but those 2 were important games imo for the AC franchise
@@Ridley369 I thought Wild World was a great successor to the GameCube, especially because it had WiFi capability with friends which was huge at the time.

i started playing new leaf a few days ago, im so happy i got goldie as one of my starter villagers
Being bombarded with incredibly obnoxious advertisements as an entry fee to listen to this perfectly captures the disparity between childhood and adulthood. So much needless noise these days. Nothing as simple as this little ditty.
Takes me back to summer 2005...
thanks to you, I'm so happy at work🎶
My favorite was when I stayed home sick and the rain outside was matched with a rainy day in game. It's weird too, now games have to do so much to keep me happy. Animal crossing seems lacking in retrospect. But back then, maybe I wasn't so dull.
preach, brother
I miss these early days of gaming, back when you'd call a number for game tips, when you'd subscribe to a magazine for info, when people wouldn't dogpile you online for having a warranted negative opinion on a game's flaws. Mostly because people were still on dial-up. 😔
This music lives free rent in my head after all of the hours I put into catching the Coelacanth and the Arapaima.
I miss the job system, getting jobs to run for villagers, it was fun to see what items you got as a reward.
I'm still a little bitter they removed being able to ask for something to do from villagers. Like they kept requests in the game, but just made it harder to do them.
There's a lot that goes into those random encounters. It's a lot of extract work, and having to add a ton of dialog for errands for each individual animal, of which they've added more villagers each game, would prove challenging to keep unique. They're also horrible and picking and choosing their battles at Nintendo. It wasn't a priority. The AI in Animal Crossing Gamecube was so advanced for its time it's not even funny. They could, but they're focused on terrain morph.
@@BillionairesArentYourFriends I love your passion but when you say the AI in AC-Gamecube was advanced, I just remember my brother smacking villagers with his bug net until they lost their temper--and then he'd move 2 little screens away and back again, and the villager acted like nothing happened.
