In this video I show step by step instructions on how I created a tripod mount for making life easier when using large legacy lenses (such as Tamron Adaptall 2 SP60-300mm which weighs 1kg) on small fragile camera bodies like the NX3000 and other mirror-less cameras like my Pansonic G80 - Micro Four Thirds (MFT M4/3).

That's not a lens on a camera; that's a camera on a lens. Well thought out, and well executed.
Amazing
thanks, this is a fantastic solution! and i love how you put the video together, so easy to follow. now to find someone with a drill press… 😅
Great craftsmanship dud!! Love it
Great post, you have solved my problem! Thanks a lot. Regards, Jimp
What if instead of screwing adapter into lens collar, let it be with spacer you put before drilling. Will it not work. Now we can use same collar for different adapters.
Unfortunately the spacer will not provide enough support for a large lens and they are also fairly difficult to fit quickly.
I have samsung nx-300 camera i want good background blur which tamron i can use by the help of this adapter which is good for background blur suggest me a name?
I have a Tamron lense for my Sony a5000. Would it be the same?
I think I would glue it
I agree 100%. Look forward to seeing how that turns out. Cheers.
Hi. I have a NX2000 Samsung And the exact same lense as yours. I 3d printed an adapter. Did you find any issues getting sharp focus ?
No issues, focus with the adaptor that I used was no problem.
@@allthestuffwedo gonna rip mine apart and refurb it and 3d print an entire new lense housing
7:25 what exactly did you file off to fit this adapter on the NX1?
At the top of the adaptor at the part closest to the camera.
Lol,im not joking, but really, any good adapter often includes a screw hole for the "adapter" leg on it,the leg can be bought separately.
And one more thing,a long lens always have a leg on it,or a space to attach the leg on...old mf lens got it,new af lens got it....attaching lens leg on the adapter is such a bright idea, but i prefer attaching it onto the lens, lens always heavier than camera
Thanks for watching. There is not a single adaptor available for this lens/camera combination with a leg for tripod mount. Even if you could find a lens collar of the correct diameter there is nowhere to mount one on this lens that does not interfere with the operation of the lens. Putting a single hole in the adaptor to mount it to the tripod would be insufficient for a lens of this weight/length as leverage would put too much strain on the single fulcrum point especially if you want to be able to leave the camera mounted to the tripod whilst carrying it around as I do.
What's the diameter of the tripod collar?
The internal diameter is approximately 65mm.
Can I ask what is the name of the adapter?
It's a Kecay Tamron-NX adaptor.
