11:46 To keep my fabric from going under/over my 1-inch seam allowance I place a rubber band around the base of my sewing machine, It is an excellent way to temporarily mark a wider-than-usual seam allowance. It’s easy to follow and stays in place securely, but it’s simple to move for wider or narrower seams.
Is there anyway you could attach a photo or a diagram to show how u mean as I'm new to sewing & can quite work out how u mean to place it. Many thanks.
I am from Saudi Arabia Very impressed with your wonderful ideas You are very creative Thank you for watching this video as soon as I learned it from you
My Mom and I have been watching your videos from the beginning. She was just nodding this whole video and remembering when she was in home ec. She was so proud of you for giving such a thorough explanation and not leaving out a single step. Much love.
I have never sewed in my life. I borrowed my daughter's sewing machine and gave this a go with an old tablecloth I had that was stained. It turned out lovely although a little smaller than it should. I am hoping to buy some nice material and make a few that I can actually use. Thank you for this brilliant tutorial.
I've always wanted to make envelope pillows. Thanks for the easy and very good instructions on how to do it. I love the shabby chic look. I watched Rachel Ashwell on TV and am glad the look is still in. I do so enjoy your you tube channel.
I am so glad that you emphasized pressing the fabric. I make pillow covers all the time. It's a great way to update your décor and keep your room fresh. Covers are so much easier to store than the pillows.
I’m in FL USA. I have just found you and subscribed. I have been sewing sense I was a child, but I am teaching my grand daughter how to sew. I subscribed and sent to her.
Hi Dainty Catherine! I'm loving the beautiful cushions you made and your choice of those gorgeous floral fabrics. My Mom taught me to sew, she made all my clothes when I was a wee little girl and also used some of the fabrics to make me a quilt. Also, I loved your travel to Budapest, beautiful candid shots. I'm so glad you had a wonderful visit and made lasting memories. Love your channel your just the cutest. HUGS!!!!
Catherine, your pillows are beautiful! I really like the fabric that you chose too. I stopped sewing years ago but you have given me the inspiration to start sewing again. Be well💕🍀

My mum, does a lot of african dresses i grow up helping her. Sowing is very intimidating to me but i always have the desire to sew i'm confident in cutting but not sewing. I'm gonna challenge myself this summer and do those cushions.
I found the cushion a great project to begin with, let me know if you give it a try! x
Mainly is to get the material especialy my traditional one is very scarce. The material is called Umbhaco and Isishweshwe very popular in soutern africa.
Hi Catherine, I love sewing is my way to relax, and change up my decor frequently. I don't know if you've ever tried the fabrics in ikea, not many florals but great quality. I often go to Shepherds Bush market in London, with it's many fabric shops. I love printed cotton, its so versetile and comes in so many variations. I am like a kid in a candy shop. Beutiful cushions I love the colours. 🌹
Yes, I tried their fabrics in Ikea, I loved the stripe ones x
Girl if he came into my house you would love all the floral stuff I have I love florals just like you everything I have to have has to have flowers on it except I got rid of my flower couches a long time ago cuz they were outdated they were too old too heavy bulky but if you saw every blanket I have to have has to have flowers every set of she has to be in a rose color or florals I even added crocheted lace sometimes to my sheets to make them look prettier into my pillow cases but my craft room is a vintage silver color a light color different color and my shelves and everything are in there different colors too cuz that's how I want my craft room a different color that way any color goes with it cuz I have the vintage silver lavender I have the pretty Pinks and the mobs in there my daughter gave me a shabby Chic grease and it's pink and I reason it just really pretty colors and I mean I think we almost have the same color and all the teacups I even have many teapots and teacups miniature ones so you're just like me I have to have everything with flowers
Great Video
What inexpensive sewing machine would you recommend for a beginner? X
Hiya, I would try get a good machine but second hand, so many people buy them but don't use them so you might get an almost new machine second hand x
Yeah ! Finally i can comment now ! 😍
Aw, Yay x
