I'm a quilter who also crochets. No one has too many blankets than me and my daughters! I looked for some water resistant fabric to redo my cushions but the fabric was so expensive. I bought fabric shower curtains for cheap and cut them up. It worked great.
You'll be making the chairs next, girl. It made me smile when you mentioned you didnt know what timber the craftsman used to make the chairs. Someone has been to woodworking classes!
Every time I watch you, I can hear my then 2 year old grandson. He couldn't pronounce Catherine. Instead he said Schmafrin. He is 18 now. Love you and your projects. You are just so cute! Good luck dear.
Here in the US, Adirondack is pronounced like adder-ON-dack. 🙂The chairs are named after a lovely area in northern New York state. Love the idea of using two bed pillows inside!
I'm from Canada and we call them either Adirondack or Muskoka chairs. Lake Muskoka is in Ontario. I do like Catherine's pronunciation though so I may test it out here. Love the idea of the 2 pillows as well. I have a different style of chair but can definitely adjust the pattern. The quilt fabric you used is lovely!
I just adore the cushions you made. They are perfect for home and to bring to a concert in the park. You are very clever. For a taller person, the back pillow could be a king size. And it’s a perfect recycle for your old pillows when you get new pillows. Thank you for this idea. That quilt is gorgeous. Just makes it so perfect.
🙋🏼♀️I have an obsession with quilts and blankets and I live in Florida!! When you want to turn a piece of fabric this way, you can sew a piece of ribbon or string in that when you fold it to sew. Sew the ribbon inside the fold and leave it long enough to stick out the open ens. Sew it on the two sides as normal then you can pull the string to turn it right side out. Good luck! 🤣 Love your projects!
Brilliant cushion DIY, Catherine, it gives the extra comfort for sitting longer. I bought some in a supermarket in France a few years ago and bring them with me each time as we've gone with our car by boat. I use them for the hard sun lounger as well 😊 You looked for you day out, Catherine, your dress 👗 was gorgeous 😍 I've seen Joanne on the TODAY show, really great ideas.
@@DaintyDiaries This is my first viewing of your video. I’m gobsmacked by your eyes, absolutely gorgeous!!! And, that cushion idea is fantastic. Well done.
Hey Catherine, lovely vlog. You can turn your hand to anything. Nothing phases you. Love the chair cushions, the handles are a great touch. Hope your friend Joanne's Book is a huge success x
I love the blanket colors and patterns. It's so you. Those cushions are adorable and versatile. Congratulations to Joanne on her new book. You are all so creative.
Hi Catherine, love your cushions! I always chuckle at the way Europeans pronounce North American words, like Adirondacks. A-der-on-dacks 😅 you're so cute x
It’s absolutely gorgeous, what a great way to up cycle an old unused comforter. You are so clever and you make it look so easy too! You are such a sweet girl and really enjoy your videos. ❤️ from Australia 🇦🇺 x
Wow I love love this video your cushions are absolutely beautiful I need to do this thank you so much ..for always bringing the most gorgeous PRETTY projects..have a beautiful blessing day..🌸🌸💗🌸🤍🤍🌸🤍🤍💗💗🍃🌻🙋🏻♀️🙏🙏🙏
If I had to bring 5 objects with me to a deserted island, one of them would be you! You are so talented! Loved the video (I DO NOT sew), and so happy for the success of your friends. Keep up the good work!
Beautiful. I love it. Will do mine with zipper on the side so I can remove pillows and wash the cover. Ty for the idea, you ALWAYS INSPIRE. THANK YOU, SO VERY NICE!
I love this project! I actually have an old quilted blanket just like yours. And old pillows I need to repurpose. Discovered you quite by chance. I fell asleep while watching a video. Woke up, heard your voice and was hooked. Just ordered your book. Thank you so much!
Hello from Canada. Your garden chairs are called Adirondack, pronounced A dee RON dak, which is the name of a Aboriginal First Nation in Canada and the US. These chairs are quite common here. Great cushions for these great loungers.
Great job, Catherine! The chair looks EXTRA-comfortable…you looked like you were settling into it for the rest of the day and night!😂. I like the practical handles and the easy pillow stuffing!
You - and the dress - look gorgeous Catherine! The material is such a beautiful colour and it is so soft and dainty. I love the quilt patterned cushion too, you make everything look so easy to make. But where ? Is the candle holder you painted. Surely you got to take them home? The crafter’s book has some great furniture restorations in it and so well photographed too, she is very talented.🥰💐
Watching you from Dalton, Georgia, USA! Love listening to your Irish accent! Been a fan for a few months now and I’m out of RUclips vids but will be watching you on Sunday 👍
Omg, I actually needed this so much! I have leather seats in my car and I've been trying to figure out a seat cushion/cover concept for them and I love this idea!
Your cushions were so pretty I have an old store bought quilt like that but sadly I just gave away my adirondack chairs to my son's girlfriend. I might have to make her some. Good idea to add the handles to carry and also to hang up when they are wet or at the end of the season. The bird was too cute being nosey.
Very cute! As a seamstress, I’d sew a line across the middle, separating the pillows. That way, when you wash them they won’t shift

Great tip!
