This band didn't go unnoticed. They were very popular back in the Nu Metal era of the late 90's/early 2000's. One of my favorite concerts in high school was seeing them with Reveille and Taproot. Looking back now that I'm older I must admit most of these bands I used to love didn't have a lot of talent and sold out after their debut album, but this does bring back a lot of memories. Only band from that genre that is still amazing as ever is the Deftones....and thank god for that.
Shit they are a bunch of sell outs as well , I went to see them during their debut album "around the fur " ( best album) I waited outside his tour bus to get his autograph and he plowed right through me and I was just some little kid waving his cd at him asking him for a autograph, after that day he gave me a bad taste in my mouth even though I still enjoy their music from time to time .
When I was in an alternative school program, one of my teachers bought me this album because the cover 'looked cool' little did they know they exposed me to some badassery that is still not getting the limelight it deserves... it kills me that decent bands like this one are so unnoticed
They were one of my favorites in the early 2000's. I still listen to the first 3 cds (As Seen On TV, Introduction To Mayhem and (The) New Release) all the time. We saw them live all up and down the east coast, my best friend at the time got the Star 55 tattooed on his neck. They were huge in our eyes and definitely treated us like family. The new P55 is far from family.
Primer 55 was awesome!! Your dad is J-sin I guess? Wasnt the same after he left. I was 14 and my friends and I went to see them at Ozzfest in 2000 I think. We drove all the way to Austin TX just to see them for some Jagermeister tour too. Not sure how popular they were nationally but I know myself and all my friends loved them, and every now and then I get the urge to go back and listen to some of these songs. Cheers
@@Hardwired_Productions Lol they do but I am glad she was just a fling 20~~yrs ago, last I heard she was a single mother in an abusive relationship with bipolar disorder - now completely erased from social media

This album had been out a couple years when I saw them @ a small club in Waterloo, IA opening for Texas Hippie Coalition. The crowd was less than enthused about them playing. I was there for THC but was a fan of P55 as well, so them being on the ticket was a bonus. After their set I talked to the guys and helped them load up their gear into a minivan. It was so packed full but thats all they had. I questioned the road worthiness of it. They pooled what xtra cash they had & asked me if I could score some pot for them. All of them had been out for a few days & they seemed pretty desperate. I was wasnt from Waterloo & didnt know any dope slingers, but I had some weed and smoked a couple of guys up in the parking lot and gave them a couple joints for later. Haven't seen or heard of them ever since. That was quite a few years ago.
@@witchhunt99 Very cool, a friend of mine and myself saw them at the Reverb in Cedar Falls, IA. The girl we were with flirted with the merch table dude. Ended up getting us all back to the hotel where they were staying and we got really fucked up lol. Good times.
This is a Texas band??........That's ok.............But, if a Tejano, or a Texan from 1832 saw our crazy world, I swear they'd run back into they're graves to escape us! And I dont blame them one bit,,And brave old Quanah Parker would race to beat them!
Well, I wouldn't consider them big headliners. But they were on the 2nd stage of Ozzfest a year or two. I remember seeing Primer 55 open for a lot of the more well known bands of the Nu Metal era...such as Static-X, Taproot, Hed PE, Coal Chamber, etc. Unfortunately Limp Bizkit and Korn ruined that genre of music for everyone. That's cool that the singer is your dad lol.
