- A warm welcome to everyone checking out my latest RUclips video!
In this episode, I share with you a showcase of a Sunday morning run with twelve genuine HSV VL Group A SS Commodore's. An ultra rare timeless classic it also stands as a monumental vehicle in Australian automotive history. To witness not only just one real example but a complete uprising of so many is truly, a sight for sore eyes.
Thank you to Darren, Chester and all other parties involved.

Can you believe there are $2.5M (250K+ each) worth of VL Walkinshaws in this..🤯🔥
have any sold for that tho? or has the price increased because Holden have shut down now?
Hey Canada here 🇨🇦🖐
Can someone tell me what the help this thing is ?
Looks like a 4 door Fox Body Mustang to me
@@trentdabs5245 it's a 1988 vl holden Commodore Walkinshaw . limited build . think American equivalent to Holden Commodore is Buick Regal ? not sure if they made anything like the Walkinshaw tho.
@@reckitralph1802 the american equivelant to a commodore is a pontiac g8 dude
@@FOURTEEFIVE thanks . did they make a version like the Walkinshaw ?
Out of the 500 made I'm glad to say about 3000 have survived to 2021.
Are you saying some of them are fakies
750 Walkinshaw Commodores were built by HSV & whilst many 'tribute' or replica cars have been built, it would be almost impossible to pass a fake one off as a genuine car.
They actually made 750 of the vl walkinshaw I wonder how many original ones are left in 2021
i knew a bloke that made a replica one looks pretty damn good
😂😂
My cousin had one of those brand new back in the day, traded it in for $22k .... Idiot me should have bought it ... best looking HSV ever.
Absolutely gorgeous cars. It’s hard to believe they couldn’t give these things away when they were released. Now there a six figure $$$ icon.
I should have bought one when they were 20k, but at the time I decided they were to slow and bought a 32 gtr instead (still got it)
True mate, but the 32 is a pretty sweet ride!
I always thought these were the ugliest things driving on Australasian Roads, strangely as I've gotten older I've come to appreciate them, save the hein rear wing lol Awesome piece of Aussie automotive History, can't wrong with a 32 though. Always preferred R32's over R34's
@@Horrorcore_IV I always loved them ... they were wild
Beautiful vehicles. Would have loved to have seen this.
On their way to Centrelink
The video I have been waiting for 😍😍
Who knew back in 1991 when my parents owned one that they'd be so rare and expensive now should of kept it built no 454
How much was it back then mate?
New $46k. Around the mid/late nineties a Walkinshaw would set you back between 19k-30k depending on condition & kilometers.
@@johng7518 thats still alot of money. If you adjust for inflation, $46k in 1988 would be about $107,000 in todays money. $30k in 1995 would be $53k today. Those Walkys and the AU Tickford were wayyyyyyy too ahead of their time. They do look awesome today though.
@@mr.h3603 it was decent coin. I was so close to snapping one up in the late nineties, but thankfully I opted to buy my first home instead. An expensive Walkinshaw is a lot cheaper than a house nowadays 😂
Fantastic..Holden Forever !!!!!
Sorry to upset people.
I thought they were ugly when they first came out and still do.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" .....I love the look of the Walkinshaw Commodore, they were just so futuristic looking for their time, but I am a Holden man myself.
@@johng7518 overdone more like it
Everyone has there own opinions mate. Be a boring world if we all liked the same things 👍
Epic to see this what a sight 😮👌
I love these cars!
heaven
the sound would be awesome i have a stock VK commodore fuel injected 5L but have always liked the VL walkinshaws
Mouthwatering
Poetry in motion ... if Samurai drove cars, they would drive these
The U.K. version of this car is the Lotus Carlton and it’s not as in your face as the VL It built on the same chasis. They go for about £150k
I sold number 289 in 2005 now I want it bak
mind me asking how much U got for it?
@@reckitralph1802 27k
It's the lovechild of an 87 Mustang GT and a Nissan Pulsar. Except with the eyes of an R33 and an extra couple doors. 🤷♂️
Soo good
I think the old gt falcon was better then the monaro torana etc. maybe just. But these commodores are better then anything fird has made since. And holden too
my dream car wish i could own one, one day
Any Australians dream 😂
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - that's all I'm saying... they do nothing for me at all...
Here in 2022 there probably worth 1m each now
Or 2 Phase 3 GTHOs.
Everyone has a dream😫😭😭
Ugly then, ugly now.
Give me the Commodore with the Nissan turbo any day.
In 2022 money we are talking about $10 million dollars+ sitting there
Greatest 🤣, dreamer.
Hectic
Fooly Sik M88888 !!
Hey clay Wong love your videos try to upload more about supra and just cars that are fast 0-100
Yew
I love holdens and all sorts of different cars but to be honest these are ugly as hell i never saw the hype in them sorry for expressing my opinion as now days is a crime to go against the grain. All respect to these owners and collectors 👍
Back when they were built in the late 80s everyone hated them. Dealers couldn’t give them away. Some sat in dealerships for up to 5 years & they couldn’t sell them even dropping prices below wholesale. They definitely weren’t a sought after vehicle back in the day. Now people will sell kidneys to get one… lol
Im happy i dont know what these are my bank account thanks me
Still Holden’s worst design along with the Cruze
