    great boat, but the whole point of an airboat is so there are no low hanging rudders to get caught on stuff when you run something over. keep up the great work man you are great motivation for me!

    • @jefftuckercfii
      @jefftuckercfii 5 лет назад +1

      Yup, airboats are steered with multiple rudders mounted behind the propellers. With the flat bottoms they can even cross short stretches of swampland that are slightly above water level, as long as their are no obstructions that can rip out the bottom.

    The hull design seems to be a limiting factor. I'm no expert, but a slightly bigger and flatter hull would make it more efficient, IMO. Also, if the motors were made to pivot, you wouldn't need a rudder hanging below the bottom of the hull. Or have rudders behind the props like a standard airboat. I like the build, though. I spend too much time agonizing over measuring and fitting when I build stuff; this guy seems to do a lot just eyeballing things.

    Nice work! However, the whole idea of an airboat is to go in very shallow water with weeds. Your rudder prevents that.
    The propellers could be wired to run only the outside on one side only to steer. OR, wire in the ability to reverse one side or the other while staying in forward on the opposite side.
    Lose the rudder! Manage the airflow to steer the boat.

      @@abdulkader5470this brushed motor's rpm is around 20000 rpm With low torque. If they were brushless, it would be better. Or larger propeller with a gearbox.
      If you listen to the sounds of engines, you will find that by turning on all engines. How much power is drained from the battery and the battery is drained quickly. maybe they're lower than 7000 rpm.This means efficiency is below 20%. however maybe only 2 motors with small prop under water make this bout faster and longer range
