Amazing idea. Only thing I don't like that you still need a network router. Why can't the Hue bridge and Denon Prime unit connect directly, without that router? Would be much more convenient for small outdoor or wedding parties.
Me Too. That's why my Lights are in Storage Now. I can tell you what I did find out. I use a Bridgepoint WiFi Router that I connect to my Hues Bridge. The Good Thing I found out is that I didn't have to plug up one of my cell Hotspot for internet access as it worked without it.
This is not an issue from the Controller, instead it's because the philips hue bridge needs a WiFi Router in the Middle. But u could make this more mobile, if you would install a lil mobile router in your travel case for bringing your own wifi network with you to your gigs
@@SomeOne-bj6cl @RoDi Baker That's partially the reason. The real reason is because both devices expect to reside within the same Level 3 subnet, one way or the other. How does a router (normally) achieves that for all the devices? by **assigning** IPs with the same subnet mask to each one of them. So, you don't have a router. How can you bypass this step and still accomplish that level 3 connection? easy: don't leave that task to another device. Instead, set a static IP with the same subnet, both on the Denon Prime 4 ethernet card, and, by preconfiguring the Hue Hub (there are several tutorials for this). Is it worth it? IMO, no. There are like 20 bucks routers that are the size of a credit card.

@@KnightmareOX Is that true? I understood that the Prime unit directly connects with the Hue Bridge. Why you need an extra router then? It would kill the entire purpose of using this mobile

Hey Tek - The Phillips Hue (Basic) allows you to control the Phillips Hue lights from your hardware using Engine Lighting. In regards to changing pad colors of the lights, this might be a unique option to consider. Feel free to share it in the feature requests section of the Denon DJ Forum. www.denondjforum.com

@@EngineDJOfficial I got my lights working with the first version by deleting my other entertainment zones. I’m looking forward to the new version this weekend and will try with multiple zones on my Hue system. This is very, very cool. I’m so glad you implemented this!!!!!
The whole release is the biggest bug fest ever for me. First off, when trying to log in to my Denon DJ account I get a message, that my account has been temporarily deactivated. Had to get myself a new account first to download the 2.0 firmware. Downloaded the USB version and after updating my SC5000 (which was at 1.6.2.) it was at... well... it was still at 1.6.2. No matter what I tried, no matter if using the web option or the USB option. Okay then... Let's try it via Mac and the .dmg Hmmm this seems to work now, although in the preferences it still suggests that there is a firmware update available. But clearly it is 2.0 now. The device info tells me so and also the new menus make it clear. So i really wanna try linking with my hue lights. I add my bridge, it states "bridge connected" and I can even see all my entertainment zones and contained lights. But when tapping on any of the lights non of them flash or indicate any connection with my player. In the upper right corner it always says "connecting"... Hmm what now? Maybe try to do the suggested firmware update from the players menu anyways? After doing so I am back at 1.6.2 lol Maybe there is some truth to the saying "never play on patch day" Looking forward to getting some infos from you dear Denon DJ team! And also please tell me what happened to my account?!

Hey! We've made some bug fixes with our recent release of Engine DJ 2.0.2 today. Feel free to upgrade and see if this resolves your issues: enginedj.com/downloads#release-notes
"Free service"? Features should be free. This is the least you could do after calling this machine standalone is Hue lighting. Subscriptions are not standalone. Besides it still requires a Hue bridge, Hue lights and cell phone. It's definitely not free or standalone. The WiFi on the Prime could probably do the same as the bridge with a little more programming. That's what the Hue app is. How about you focus on making Engine OS 2.0 & above be able to move file folders from the external drives to the internal drive and do its own batch analysis first. You know. Standalone. Without a computer. As promised & as advertised. Then add more crap. Also if you add a feature to a "standalone" unit, you must add the software internally to run it. Or it is not standalone. 🤣🤣

So pumped you released this. I have a Prime Fo and just bought a bunch of Hue lights just because of this feature.
Guys before you purchase you need a Phillips Hue Bridge to make them connect which is sold separately to the light bars.
Still REALLY needs to be fucking said

Thanks for that mate. Answered my question
I have this, but where can I edit the autoloops within engine dj so I can customise the hue light show?
Oh yes I like this kind of gadjet 😁
So it only works if there is wifi right ? Or is wifi needed only to set it up ?

Thank you
What if you don’t have the hue bridge just the lights?
When I click lighting it just loads don't get to the basic or pro part been like this since I bought lights and also through about 4 new prime updates
Is this posible with pioneer xdj rx3 ?
Do you need the bridge? I’ve got hue gu10s in my kitchen but no bridge
Yes you will need the bridge.
What does the Hue option do? And why not use the pads to change the color of the lights :)

What type of Dmx style of lighting?
Any as long as you're using a SoundSwitch USB to DMX interface.
Great video. Easy to understand. Just unfortunate the speaker couldn't pronounce the word "button". Very distracting.
