When I first discovered Kajol in the 90s through Kuch kuch hota hai, I immediately became a fan. Since it was difficult to get hold of Bollywood films in Russian in Germany and I had only just started learning Hindi, I discovered many films late, including Kajol. Even though I already had an audio cassette of the film Ishq. When friends of mine watched the film Gupt, and unfortunately I didn't understand much Hindi, they told me that someone was always killed by someone else, and I said it was Kajol. After it really was Kajol, they asked me how I knew, my answer was, "It's Kajol's film.😂😂

After watching Gargi I wasn't able to sleep for days, Often in cinema SA is used as a plot device or convenience to create sympathy without truly addressing the heinous nature of the crime and its impact on victims. Most often movies tends to depict the victim as someone's wife, daughter, or sister to evoke sympathy from us while glossing over the perpetrator's identity. that's where "Gargi" stands out by confronting the harsh reality that the perpetrator could be your father, brother, or husband.

The screenplay and writing were major strengths of Dia, and the dialogues were spot-on. The subtle comedic punches and natural acting by the leads intrigued the audience and created a strong connection. The climax was heartbreaking, but the pre-climax portion where Adi comes to see his mother was on another level. The emotions were beautifully blended in this movie.
