It’s not that industry isn’t giving him enough opportunities..he has been given quite a few like Ludo, Vikram Vedha and he was good in them too..but he doesn’t seem interested in playing more of those..he’s happy playing ‘Rishi’ in Mismatched for 100 more seasons 🙄 he wants to do only romance as the main thing and other genres as a side gig which really frustrates me!!

It's so heartbreaking to see Akshay kumar being casted in mediocre movies. As a bollywood cinephile, i am really missing akki's era.
Because of him only he should do one or 2 films in a year instead of complete the shoot in 30 days 😂😂😂 where movies like Prithviraj and Mission Raniganj had great subject but Akshay Kumar completely brought dull looks like he didn't even acted in the film 😂😂😂. I can sense a pattern here, "Once a renowned filmmaker falling off his grace" "A superstar with immense fandom being confused with his/her choices". All of these movies also have one thing common, they were the hyped pot boiler that were safe bets for their producer. They felt like a film from the POV of the producer rather than the makers.

this guy always puts the uncelebrated mohanlal films in all his worst lists, and conveniently fails to see his celebrated movies on time (case in point, this guy doesnt mention about bro daddy or neru which were celebrated by most). yet he never misses an opportunity to hype up mammootty movies right on the day of release. Turbo on this list is a first.
Which types of movies r more frustrating to u - 1. Movies of big stars with below average story
2. Movies with great story but below average acting
3. Movies with potential to be good but the writer and screenplay leave the material on the table
4. Movies where a formula is being used to made
5. Movies where big directors and actors takes audience for granted without trying or transforming themselves to cater the story

Guntur kharam: offers no closure to Rahul Ravindran's character (gopal). He is not even acknowledged in the last seen. 😂. Post credits ignored gopal the same way his family did.
Yet i had a blast watching the movie. Good family movie in my opinion.
When Akhsy spend on 16 days for a movie and Prithivi spend 16 years.
Vijay devrakonda stint of mediocre and below average stint is painful for me as a fan of his raw emotion acting skills,

I disagree with your opinion on Malaikottai Vaaliban as although it does seems to drag on... The shots captured as well as cinematography is nothing but a marvel. Is it a great film? No. But, is it a fine film with legitimate effort in bringing finesse and a genuine attempt in bringing Indian Folklore to the big screen? Absolutely.

Lol. It doesn't matter. The screenplay was an executional failure. The promotions were misleading. Mallus are not dumb enough to support something like MaVa. Lijo is all about screenplay. The frames were astounding in some scenes ngl, but it lacked what's expected from a LJP craft.
It might not have earned much, but still a Lalettan film which is atleast my cup of tea, compared to some of his early 2Ks Shaji Kailas ventures
@@desidovah Malaikottai Valiban is gonna be a misunderstood cult classic in few years. Mark my words. It's an odd film, I agree. But if you get in sync with its vibe, you'll begin to enjoy it. Just like 2001: A Space Odyssey. It was a flop when it released. Only time would say.

In the Tamil film industry, the horror-comedy genre consistently attracts family audiences, even if the quality is poor. Kids enjoy the humor, regardless of how bad it is, which keeps families entertained. Filmmakers capitalize on this by creating sequels to popular horror movies.
Man some movies feel like director's are still living in pre COVID era in case of mass cinema. This is why mass movie (on 2018-19 template) becoming blockbuster may take India cinema a step back. We need more of Kalki, kill Hanuman , Madgaon express type movies not just for the sake of money but for creativity in Indian cinema.

I am pretty sure the second half of the year is gonna give this list a run for it's money. Legends like Farhad Samajhi, Ahmed Khan, Boyapati Srinu are still waiting to top the list🔥🤣

Aranmanai 4 is better when compared to part 2&3, not upto the mark of part 1 in terms of comedy. It's a comedy + horror movie. Though, it failed to make us laugh, but took a different route and introduced new ghost. And also, that was the first movie in 2024, to collect 100+crs in Tamil Cinema. And family audiences were the target and they succeed in that. This is not for the pure cinema lovers.
Well I pretty sure Mahesh Babu and Mohanlal will have a turn around with SSMB29 and L2 Empuraan❤ but can't say the same about the likes of Akshay, Tiger, Vidyut considering their future slate of works😅
Before empuran L360 by tharun Morthy will give mohanlal the much needed comeback.

that's rather unfair to put the blame on the terrible reception for the film on the audience's taste or expectation. The issue is that no one is willing to accept that the LJP-Mohanlal much awaited collab terribly missed the mark. Some great ideas but overall a messy execution

Jammy I suggest you to watch "Dear Maya" staring Manisha Koirala. I really loved that movie specially the 'poetry' half. I'm still in disbelief that there was no hype or appreciation for the movie and still remains underated. The movie has minimal complexities and realism instead imbibes escapism and imagination. Especially the portrayal of Manisha's character is purely poetry.
So shocked to see malaikottai vaalibhan in this list. Agreed the movie opened to polarising views, with a lot of people not able to grasp a lot of its aspects, but putting it alongside the likes of BMCM and family star is blasphemy. Shame!!

Aranmanai 4 worked for the Tamil audience and garnered 100 crores for several reasons. One of it is the dry spell of not any family entertainers being released in the first half. Maybe ayalaan but I guess the film wasn’t engaging enough. Besides that the aranmanai franchise is widely loved by the Tamil audience and we all just love to watch time pass films that are easily understandable. Another reason why is think it worked was because the director shifted from the usual revenge plot and brought folklore into it. So the family audiences, which is the target audience of the director loved the film. Though it was nice to see a film where Tammannah’s acting ability is shown.
Same happened with bhool bholaiyaa 2 . Sometimes a bad movies with the right music and the fun vibe just works

Bmcm had everything, a 350cr budget, a director with a great previous track record, two of the biggest action stars of the country, but it still came out as trashy and horrible. It is high time for Akshay Kumar to take a hiatus and then comeback with a film which redefines him as a actor. Just like SRK
If you have seen bmcm you would have known Akki was the weakest part in that movie. He was basically unwatchable.

Guntur Karam scarred me for life. I've waited for years. Worst experience. Considering the expectations. The previous Trivikram - Mahesh movies set the bar too high - Athadu and Khaleja. And followed by this piece of shit, whatever might be the reason it's just unacceptable and disappointing.

This year is such a dud for Bollywood, good films are also flopping, so much so that opening of 4cr are being celebrated by big production houses. The lack of the Khan's and Ranbir Kapoor is being severely felt this year.

Last year Tiger 3, Pathaan, Adipurush, Gadar 2, Mission Majnu, Shehzada, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Fukrey, Thank You For Coming, Ganapath all these films were crap. Pathetic storylines, some with extreme budgets and other's with cringe writings. Even for mass audience, there was no basic logic or efforts put in the story if not the action sequences.

It made 100 Cr because pervert uncles like fair girls showing navel and hips. That is a common theme around all that director’s movies and all of them work financially. Acho Acho song is the reason why uncles went to watch it. Remove that song and the movie would not cross 10 Cr. Sad but in a country where the biggest content consumed is porn, that is A fact.

As a telugu and Mahesh Babu's fan, I feel that since his last 3 movies like 'Sarileru Neekevvaru', 'Sarkaru Vari Paata' and 'Guntur Kaaram' flopped, I honestly feel that Mahesh should start working on his scripts since not only him, but also other actors prefer doing only masala and action movies for their fans and it'll be a very big disappointment when they don't work and regarding heroines in the movie, they hardly have any role rather than playing the love interest of the hero which is very cringe !😪
All those movies are not good movies.....but neither of them were commercial failures....sarileru nekevvaru is a blockbuster and svp , guntur kaaram are above average.

Turbo & Malaikottai Vaaliban maybe bcoz of its much hype it seem a little disappointment but not a bad film though you can do enjoy the 2nd time but BMCM & other language most high budget movies even without expectations are disasters
I wish a luminary like Mohan Lal gets better scripts. He is going through a turbulent phase in his career. Kind of an anti-climactic end to a wonderful career. Look at Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan: they are still able to make good impressions on the box office. I am yet to hear something similar for Mohan Lal 😞

Vijay devarakonda debue films like yevade subramanyam , pellichoopulu are gems in Telugu and with geetha govindam,taxiwala, Arjun Reddy,dear comrade he continued his success and became star with his acting skills ✨its just the script selection is bad now waiting for his comeback with great a content oriented film🙌
