Chennai Express, although forgettable as a movie, was not an "average success" by any sense of the word. It was a big blockbuster at the box office. But HNY & Dilwale performed below expectations, with Dilwale not even getting a proper hit tag

Well Hny performed well at the box office arround 400 crores worldwide gross even Dilwale also earned more than 400 crores still they're considered as blockbusters

It's crazy how we just forgot that om raut was the same person who directed tanhaji : the unsung warrior (yes, many says ajay devgn was the visionary) but manoj muntashir who got criticised for his dialogue writing in adipurush, is the same person who wrote dialogues of Baahubali & penned the songs for it as well. One bad project and people made him the villian. I don't have problem with him getting criticised for disaster like adipurush, but never seen him getting praised for bahubali's beautiful and soulful songs and grand dialogues either. 🤷🏻
Imo, VDK's career choices are a combination of everything. Dear Comrade's failure made him choose Liger ( Commercial mass genre). Liger's failure made him choose feel good romcom films ( Kushi, Family star) which also failed. His offscreen attitude doesn't help either because that attitude requires strong scripts. Mediocre scripts will only bring heavy trolls. Maybe for someone like Nani, Kushi/Family star would have been Average at BO because of his offscreen attitude. VDK saw early fame, continuous hate from a few major star heroes fans, offscreen attitude, over estimation of his BO pull and so on. All these are the reasons for his downfall. Hope he comes back stronger but it is really difficult for him to become a star now. That time is gone.
I absolutely hated zero. When the protagonist of a movie has grey character, his redeeming qualities should be better than his bad qualities, only then you can sympathise or feel for the character, but in zero, srk was just plain annoying! Just because he is trying hard to win back his love, who is very right in being angry with him, and also trying hard to join NASA (lol!),I should sympathise with him? Why? I could not connect to his character. In the end I felt angry at Anushka for forgiving him
Unpopular opinion, SRK shouldn't have played the role of The Fan, instead a newcomer should have done the role. Shah Rukh at that stage, should have taken a back seat for that movie. And let a newcomer shone in the movie.
Same can be said about Sonakshi too ! Though I really love sona as a person but she lost the charm somewhere in 2017-18 after being in so many hit commercial movies
1990s was an odd time to be a fan of Amitabh bacchan whose career dwindled with flop movies along with failed business. Happy that he made a great comeback and also understood of audience preferences
SRK doing failures like Zero Fan Dear Zindagi is far better then these mindless Pathan and Jawan. He’s a superstar and it is his duty to give us better content bcoz he has everything at his disposal. He needs to trust directors like Imtiaz, Anand Rai and Raju Hirani who have their own way of story telling he shouldn’t superimpose his own intelligence or lack of it on them
I hear you but these movies exist because SRK tried to experiment with them. However, the lack of support shown to these films will obviously push him to do movies like Pathaan whether you like it or not. For example the movie "Fan" was phenomenal in terms of acting, the story and the message it wanted to portray. It was the first of it's kind in Bollywood, having a 'fan' serve as an antagonist. It portrayed the feeling of betrayal the fan felt ,his obsession and revenge. Along with the terror the 'star' felt his irritation with obsessive and needy fans, his determination to save his family and at one point the helplessness he felt. All of these were beautifully portrayed, yet it was ultimately a box office failure. If you want films like these perhaps start watching them in theatre. People generally don't support a movie when someone's experimenting and then complain about the saturation of genre and lack of innovation in the cinema industry.
@@IktaSalork-ys1nb I haven't watched Fan and Dear Zindagi that's why didn't commented on them. Pathan I didn't like and Jawan was similar to South commercial movies. I agree with you on the idea of experimentation.

I think it's already happening. Especially now knowing that Ranveer has signed an action film with Aditya Dhar, it can't possibly be at the same acting fees
@@TriedRefusedProductions If it is happening then it is okay as a ranveer singh fan I have analysed that most of his successfull flims are with sucessful directors such as Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rohit Sheety, Zoya Akhtar etc. When he will reduce his fees it is ultimately the flims budget will be reduced and there are more chances of the flim recovering its budget.
I know Tiger Shroff was asked to cut down his fees by 70% due to the failure of BMCM. Failure to do so would've resulted with him getting no film offers.
Yeah. The film also had a great message too but all the fault goes to YRF. They didn't market the film enough for people to get intrigued to watch it. I think YRF just wanted to get that film marketed and released ASAP so they could focus on marketing a big film like Tiger 3.
Idea: The evolution of Katrina Kaif. She has one of the most interesting journeys, and I think a lot of criticism she gets for her acting ability is from people who aren't familiar with her entire filmography or who don't understand film and performance arts. She did justice to all of these characters and what they were meant to be...but because she doesn't have big, teary, sorrowful eyes she's often written off...and let's not forget also being written off because she's supposedly only successful "because of Salman" or because she's fair.

Vijay Devarakonda is Still The Big Thing in TFI He Will Bounce Back with His Upcoming Lineup Iam Sure He will Rule the TFI In Future just as his Inspiration Mahesh Babu did
The "rule" is probably a big word now!! He should change his attitude and story selection if he needs to survive in the industry!! He had a chance of ruling the Indian cinema industry and it is over now.. he has to start with zero now and should be very careful in choosing his scripts!! We wish him good luck!!
Good concept Jammy. But i don’t think SRK and Akshay Kumar do not fit the list as their decline happened over a series of films. Another one that could be on the list is Sanjay Gadhvi who enjoyed success with Dhoom and Dhoom 2 . He had a massive future ahead until Kidnap. After that, looks like production houses lost trust in the guy. Kangana Ranaut - Manikarnika Nikkhil Advani - Katti Batti Vishal Bharadwaj - Rangoon Remo Dzoza - Race 3
There is an entire ecosystem that is systematically targeting Akshay and celebrating his 'downfall'. Reasons- 1. He ate aam with a celebrated political figure. 2. He talks about and expresses his love for his country in many ways. 3. Several fans of other A-listers want their favorite to stay relevant and not Akshay. 4. The wokes rejoice Akki's fall more than anyone and they are very powerful people.
so right wingers don't watch movies now? I mean Kerala story and Kashmir files was a hit. So do the wokes only target Akshay Kumar? I'm sure no one will care about this if he make a good Khiladi/Welcome/Hera pheri movie but the problem is his own choices. You think for yourself, what was the point of making Bade Miya chote Miya, Sarfira, Selfie, Bachchan Pandey the movies which were frame to frame copy, Prithviraj a movie where his acting was horrible. Who's fault is that?
Akshay Kumar has been written off at least 4-5 times before. There is a reason he is a superstar for the past 30 years.. he ain't ever going anywhere. Sorry, haters.
This time there is a huge difference. Post-pandemic the audience had like a literal epiphany after getting introduced to other industries especially Malayalam. Not just AK, the whole BWood would need to reboot to stay relevant.

Chennai Express, although forgettable as a movie, was not an "average success" by any sense of the word. It was a big blockbuster at the box office. But HNY & Dilwale performed below expectations, with Dilwale not even getting a proper hit tag
Bollywood movies mostly cringe hoti h
HNY expectations sa bhot zyada achha perform kari thii, box office verdict bhi Super hit hai aur 200cr club mai gyi thii movie.... SRK's downfall started from Dilwale jo average hui thii and uske baad average aur flop movie ki streaks lagadi till ZERO the biggest disaster of his career.
Chennai Express isn’t a forgettable movie as well…
I loved Chennai express
It was huge blockbuster in box office as well as loved by audience
Well Hny performed well at the box office arround 400 crores worldwide gross even Dilwale also earned more than 400 crores still they're considered as blockbusters

True yeah
TRUE there are more nepo STAR kids in TFI than in Bollywood

I absolutely hated zero. When the protagonist of a movie has grey character, his redeeming qualities should be better than his bad qualities, only then you can sympathise or feel for the character, but in zero, srk was just plain annoying! Just because he is trying hard to win back his love, who is very right in being angry with him, and also trying hard to join NASA (lol!),I should sympathise with him? Why? I could not connect to his character. In the end I felt angry at Anushka for forgiving him
I know right..like the movie was literally so trash specially his character lol
Unpopular Opinion: I loved ‘Fan’. Quite dark and disturbing.
That was my point too. No matter how we look at the quality of the film ( I liked it too), it's almost immaterial to the dynamics of the film industry
Movie without logic.... Good concept but no logic😂
Wasn't dark enough, imo. SRK should have showed more psychopathic tendencies in the character.
Unpopular opinion, SRK shouldn't have played the role of The Fan, instead a newcomer should have done the role.
Shah Rukh at that stage, should have taken a back seat for that movie. And let a newcomer shone in the movie.

I don't like bollywood movies bollywood is overrated industry
I have seen Zero and it is trash.

A simple question should actors like Akshay Kumar tiger Shroff and Ranveer singh should not reduce there fees when there flims are not working.
When he will reduce his fees it is ultimately the flims budget will be reduced and there are more chances of the flim recovering its budget.

this.
Yeah. The film also had a great message too but all the fault goes to YRF. They didn't market the film enough for people to get intrigued to watch it. I think YRF just wanted to get that film marketed and released ASAP so they could focus on marketing a big film like Tiger 3.
Exactly! The only good film he made out of his whole filmography.
Idea: The evolution of Katrina Kaif. She has one of the most interesting journeys, and I think a lot of criticism she gets for her acting ability is from people who aren't familiar with her entire filmography or who don't understand film and performance arts. She's done justice to so many roles:
Jazz from Namastey London
Maya from New York
Sophia in Race
Jenny from APKGK
Dimple from MBKD
Zoya in The Tiger Trilogy
Laila in ZNMD
Firdaus in Fitoor
Babita Kumari in Zero
and her recent performance in Merry Christmas.
She did justice to all of these characters and what they were meant to be...but because she doesn't have big, teary, sorrowful eyes she's often written off...and let's not forget also being written off because she's supposedly only successful "because of Salman" or because she's fair.

Kangana Ranaut - Manikarnika
Nikkhil Advani - Katti Batti
Vishal Bharadwaj - Rangoon
Remo Dzoza - Race 3
There is an entire ecosystem that is systematically targeting Akshay and celebrating his 'downfall'. Reasons-
1. He ate aam with a celebrated political figure.
2. He talks about and expresses his love for his country in many ways.
3. Several fans of other A-listers want their favorite to stay relevant and not Akshay.
4. The wokes rejoice Akki's fall more than anyone and they are very powerful people.
Akshay's downfall is his own fault. No one else's. He is just after $ and doesn't care about anything else.
Nah his films are just mediocre and average movie ticket at multiplex costs 250.
so right wingers don't watch movies now? I mean Kerala story and Kashmir files was a hit. So do the wokes only target Akshay Kumar?
I'm sure no one will care about this if he make a good Khiladi/Welcome/Hera pheri movie but the problem is his own choices.
You think for yourself, what was the point of making Bade Miya chote Miya, Sarfira, Selfie, Bachchan Pandey the movies which were frame to frame copy, Prithviraj a movie where his acting was horrible. Who's fault is that?
