One solution to this problem could be to make movies with new actors who are formally trained in acting, such as FTII graduates. This way, a lot of new fresh talent would get an opportunity to get introduced and the producers can spend more money on hiring experienced directors and behind the scene artists as well as visual and other special effects.

Jawan was produced by Red Chillies which is owned by SRK. The whole 60 percent profit plus 100 crore fee is just him reinvesting the money back into his production company. And given that Atlee is the director while SRK being the lead, it was guarantied that this film will make massive bank. SRK is actually a very smart guy; he knows the economics of the industry in-and-out and know which projects to place bets on. Also, a big chunk of his money actually goes into VFX division of Red Chillies which India's top VFX STUDIO.

Also, the another reason is lack of movies, adapted from Indian literature. If you look in Hollywood, you will find many movies which were adapted from literature. Forrest Gump was also an adaptation from a novel of the same name. I have read some of the stories of writers like Bhagwati Charan Verma, Munshi Premchanda, Mridula Garga and Vijay Tendulkar. And I will tell you most of the Indian writers of 20th century were very much ahead of their time and you will also enjoy their stories. Most of these writers had come to the film industry but they ended up being disappointed with the system. But some writers like Vijay Tendulkar had written screenplays of some of finest films like Manthan, Ardhasatya, Nishant. I also recommend you to read his plays. If you don't have time to read the indian literature, atleast hear the radio play adaptations of them, produced by Aakashvani.
U mean from books right also series uk like heartstopper which is such a classic and the show elevated the overall experience of the whole book even without diminishijng its essence
Well, I 've never heard of this show but thanks for telling about the show. Look man, in creative arts, there are no rules. I 've read the Forrest Gump novel as well as I have watched the movie. Just the main characters are same in both novel and the movie but the plot is entirely different. I will suggest you to read it, you will find it as amusing as the movie.
I don't think it can be a big reason. Our bengali film industry, which we call as Tollywood, is currently at the worst phase that we don't even know what films have released in last 5 years. But what we've seen, atleast >50% of our films are direct adaptations, with genres ranging from romance, horror, detective, social setup/periodic. What I believe, why Bollywood is failing (even our industry) and the Southern industries are thriving, us because they have larger level of conviction and think out of the box. You can have millions of stories written for you, but if you lack the ability to setup it in large frame in grandeur, it's waste of money.
But that is the case with Bollywood, they can do grandeur and large scale easily. But they need to appreciate story and writers. Good writer - director is the foundation of a film, not an A list actor.
wrt to writers, Korean industry seem to be doing something right. They give due credit to the writers, many dramas would have hype around who the writer is compared to actors. Since Kdrama caters to an international audience rather than relying on star power, many times writers will also be part of casting. You can also see interviews where writers like kim yun sook would share why they took a particular actor for their story.

Every artist should be respected. I think that Bollywood should focus on fun and realistic stories and avoid cringe scenes in movies. And also that it's better to use songs as BGM while progressing the story, and not as overextended filler dance video.
Honestly Bollywood has always been known for the dance numbers, and that is the essence of it. Change needs to be made but embracing and keeping the essence in mind is also important

I want to add about the studio era. Being a person from Andhra Pradesh, I can say this: Some of the Epic classics, which are even widely acclaimed to this day were made during the studio era. Films like Mayabazaar (1957) and Pathala Bhairavi (1951) were epic fantasy movies, which were made by the Vijaya Vauhini studio, are still considered classic movies even to this day, with their beautiful dialogues, set pieces, and story+screenplay combinations. PS: Thank you for raising the issue with Tollywood as well (even if done in passing). The problem of high upfront fees is prevalent not just in Bollywood, but also is creeping up in Tollywood.
The worst in south india for high fee for actors is in Tamil Nadu and producers cry over here and hail Malayalam industry actors for their nominal fee and Telugu actors for reducing their fees or helping producer in case of movie failure but in Tamil industry 60 percentage of the budget goes as salary to the main actor
@@GuruPrasad-tb3qk only the biggest of the stars do that. Rajni, Vijay, Ajith do that. Rest of them don't do it (because they don't have a big box office pull) But in Tollywood, even small actors are increasing their fees which is not there in Tamil. And Malayalam is benchmark example for actors fees.
Main problem with Bollywood is: Bollywood movies are mostly low in IQ and actors stardom centric rather than content centric (Irrespective of few directors) If they continue to do so then we will witness the fall of Bollywood Sometimes I just think what the hell they are doing... The reach that Bollywood has in India also around the world if they had focused more on content than actors stardom also inefficient star kids by bringing/exploring new faces around India Today instead of struggling, Bollywood could compete Hollywood Indian Film Makers should set standard, evolve and make movies like Marvel Studios, John Wick, Avatar, Jurassic Park, Matrix, Terminator etc. instead of Bheekh manga, Gharelu Bibaad, Emotional Fool movies, Illogical Love stories etc.

Lets talk about Kantara, a huge hit. Such a low budget movie. But strong story and impeccable script and brilliant acting. Bollywood should focus on that. Be with stars or without.
Let's also talk about Kantara's prequel, Chapter One. from 16 cr of Kantara to 125 cr of Kantara chapter one. The thing was that the actor was not a star before so he was no one but now he is at least for that movie, so fees up. Same is the case with KGF.
and who says Bollywood never focused on script and acting? Take out the lists of the top 200 films made in India, most of them are in Hindi or Bengali language, this sudden negative campaign against Bollywood is only running down South. Not a fan of SRK but the man showed how at 58 he is far better than most of the Southern superstars being hero-worshipped amongst their audience, two films already crossed the 1000cr + marks one more biggie left. Bollywood has always been content just that people have been brainwashed into thinking that they don't make good films anymore and I am not even talking about the critical cinema here.
I make it a point to NOT go to the theatre for mass movies that has garbage story and only has an actor’s name attached to it. Never been a fan of ‘larger than life’ movies. Even as a kid. I definitely DON’T want to spend my hard earned money on them. Rather, I’d happily spend my money on movies like 12th Fail etc, where there’s a beautiful story, wonderful acting and a good message too.
Hollywood is kind of realistic, and they try to fit logic in even fictional movies, whereas Bollywood is a kind of dreamy thing where there's a dance, song, colorful costumes, action, and heavy dialogues in its core form.
It's a tricky situation in Jawan's case: there are 2 producers gaurav and srk. So after all the equations, the movie made certain crores and from that srk takes percentage sharing as an actor which directly goes to his personal account.... remaining amount would be shared by gaurav and srk(red chillies) as per their percentage investments. Here Shahrukh got more benefits as compared to Pathaan but with that extra headache of managing everything needs to be handled.
No , Gaurav Verma works for SRK. he's employee Red chillies & producer by profession. Film was completely produced by Red chillies entertainment only , SRK invested his own money.
Gaurav is a part of RCE as far as his LinkedIn says. Actually what happens is that when their position is too high in the company, their name is displayed probably because they are a part of the decision-making body as well. Like he must have also sanctioned that they should invest in Jawan
Red Chillies is wholly owned by SRK & Gauri Khan! Gaurav Verma works for Red Chillies. Basically, SRK/Gauri Khan ne khud SRK ko hi 100 crore ka paycheck diya! 🤣

How do you expect a writer to give his 100% when you pay them 8 to 30 lac for the movie being made on the budget of 50 to 100 crore.. There are thousands of writers in the industry getting scammed.. there was a writer who only got paid 10000 for his movie in exchange of credits.. Indian movie industry will not get better until writer and other artists are paid well..
Shahrukh’s most of film are produced by red chilli production and sometimes in collaboration with yrf . So ultimately he is paying himself those fees. That also reason he works very closely to make film commercially profitable.

Do not pressure artists for such a useless norm of every friday release is a must. Unnecessary time limitations will not give better art so just forget about Masterpieces. There is absolutely never-ending material already present in the world of Cinema that is sufficient for any individual for a lifetime, so it is my sincere request to all the movie studios, filmmakers that take your time and give it to the writers to create something meaningful, put your money in surveys and do the needful accordingly. One correction (in 19:34), Andhadhun wasn't a remake remake of L'accordeur, just that it had taken an inspiration from it, big difference as many and most original movies take inspiration from some movies or others. L'accordeur was a 14 minute short film, while Andhadhun was a 2+ hr long movie, with personal dynamics, twists and interests driving the movie.
@DeeprajChauhan-oh8vvnot defending anyone or anything, but andhadhun was genuinely not a remake in the genral sense, remakes have almost the entire plot same as the original, run time not very different, many scenes are remade but in different context, but this movie (as per the admission of the creators) had taken inspiration from that short film, as in the part where a fake blind pianist witnessed a murder, but it wasn’t shot-for-shot remake, instead they expanded on the story with character motivations, greed, lust and dynamics, and finally a open eding, something the 14 minute short film lacked. Look mate I believe bollywood needs ti learn from different industries (also the its old self) but this was one of those movies that was innovative and different from other bollywood movies, and you will find many ‘acclaimed movies’ that are infact inspired by other movies but take a very different turn from the original movie and only have a fraction of it similar.

One solution to this problem could be to make movies with new actors who are formally trained in acting, such as FTII graduates. Bro after seeing hollywood films and series why would anyone watch Bollywood movies with low quality vfx
I surely will
I don't think it can be a big reason.

Also in the west they have relatively homogenized language and culture(except the immigrants but even they adapt) so you can easily adapt because lot of people are interested already. Hello mohak, one topic suggestion for video
Please make video on ielts industry,
Nowadays in India study abroad trend is increasing so idp is only company in India for ielts exam because of that idp enjoying monopoly in ielts industry, which unfair for students
Government don't have any interfere or regulation on it so idp also increased exam fees and some time exam results are unfair
Also black marketing of ielts bands in Gujarat and punjab
In others countries students have choice to reappear in one module ( pen paper based exam) but in India it's not available
Many students face struggle to give exam again in all modules, mentally it also effects the amount of time and money involves
Doesn't British Council also conduct IELTS?
@@meerars4906 no, British council left India during covid time
Mohak, you are doing a great service to this country. Keep going.

That's true
Larger than life movies are preferred by audience
Because They want to escape from their day to day mundane life for 2 to 3 hours
Biggest problem of bollywood ❌
Biggest problem of Indian cinema✅ no offense
Except malayalam, their movies are pure story based and i hope they dont fall in this pan india movement infection, telugu movies after pan india success seems like they are also going somewhat low on content same with tamil

Hollywood actors also charge high fees. But Hollywood films always spend more on script, story and film production.
You know this high fees problem is also seen in Bangladesh too. That's why films get flopped over the time.
Not only in Bollywood but also in Hollywood it's a major problem and a misinformation is that jawaan was produced by gauri khan and she is srk's wife so how in the world srk charged fees? PLEASE REPLY
You walked me through 1930 India to 2023 beautifully produced video man you earned my subscription
Actresses are really underpaid. Can’t believe that after almost a decade in the industry Kriti charges only 3 cr
No one goes to the cinema to watch kriti or katrina , and thats a fact , dont label me a sexist.
You cant expect a very high fees when you dont really contribute anything in the profit.
@@PantheraGoat If they are not watched why are they included in films?
@@asthasingh1016 the bollywood of india mostly include female characters just to oversexualise them , and to certain extent its the fault of the actresses as well.
When actresses treat themselves like an object , they will be paid like an object only.
They need to choose better script , stand for themselves and focus mainly on the acting and not just try to sell their bodies , like many do.
@@PantheraGoat you have to be bold enough to ask for more as well. Unless you ask, male producer will not pay you more than what you think you are worth. You also have to back it up with the results as well. Kriti plays a relatively less sexualized roles than other actresses, she definitely deserves more.
@@nikhilkay1 Yes , you are right and not only Kriti but all other actresses who play less sexualized roles and act well should be paid to their worth. Moreover, the male actors who show their bodies in films should be paid less. But, the problem is that they are being paid more for doing that ,😔😔whether they are good enough for acting or not (e.g. Salman Khan)
I beleive that retro actors should retire like cricketers do so that we can have fresh talent in the industry while keeping the price in control
Akshay is the one who needs to go first!
As per Porter's Five forces, the power of suppliers i.e.actors here, is super high in Bollywood, which leads to poor allocation of funds to other major activities in making of a good movie leading to poor movie scripts and repetitive production of typical Bollywood movies
The way to resolve this problem is to have a profit sharing mechanism with actors as fees
3 issues in this video
1 - Andhadhundh was not remake of that French short film
2 - RRR had very bad VFX
3 - UTV motion picture is no more
No RRR's vfx is not that bad, it's still watchable comparing to adipurush.
@@vedantsuryavanshi9656 rrr was a shitshow i have no clue why anyone with critical thinking would love that movie.
it was so boring the entire time, there was no proper story line, its like he mixed 3-4 stories which can be their own movies, there is a start to each story, there is the establishment of characters but that's it, there is no proper role like ajay devgan in the movie, they brought him onto the screen, gave little backdrop and gone, again something else only starts off.
but ofc, indian audience loves seeing their stars on screen even if it makes 0 frickin sense or if it adds nothing to the film lol.
but i am being honest, rrr had fantastic cinematography and hatts of to the camera crew and director, the shots were beautiful, songs were good but rest was a shit show.
Appreciate your point of view. But once James Cameron says he is a fan of a film, we have to accept its greatness - no matter how we like it
A remake is a film, television series, video game, song or similar form of entertainment that is based upon and retells the story of an earlier production in the same medium-e.g., a "new version of an existing film".
RRR VFX was definitely below average but the fun factor made up for it. Adipurush took itself too seriously so it was just boring
We are a middle class family or a common man
We don't need stars but we need stories 😞
I always choose my indian things before choosing foreign things but hollywood movies, foreign series, anime, manga are just best then 99% of indian movie still there 1% which are good but overall nahhhh
Dont Target only Bollywood every industry has same problem.
South industries have nepotism, woman discrimination, high fees.
This year Bollywood earned over 5500crs which is way ahead of all other industries from south. Moreover this 2023 is the most successful year in history of Bollywood.
In my opinion Bollywood content is more evolving and progressive rather than south mass masala illogical movies (except Malayalam cinema)
Tamil cinema is most balanced industry 😊😊😊
When you say South Indian movie, you are referring to South Indian movies which are dubbed into Hindi. Southern Industry offers a wide variety of stories across Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam. Some of the great movies outside Malayalam which never crossed borders are Asuran, Karnan, Jai Bheem, Soorarai Pottru, periyurum perumal, Sapta sagaradaache ello, Dia, Garuda Gamana Vrushabha Vahana, Kavaludari, sa hi pra shaale Kasaragodu, ondu motteya kathe, Daredevil Mustafa, aachar & co, hostel hudugaru bekagiddare, Sita Ramam, Thiruchitrambalam, Gargi
The list goes on..
@@pavankumarhk7074only thing which is eats creativity in any industry is PAN INDIAN SUCCESS ,believe me or not , pan indian south movies have worse content than their regional story
Bollywood may not stop making films anytime soon, but its golden period was over after the 90s. The industry is now creatively bankrupt, doesn't provide meaningful entertainment anymore and well past its prime. Plus we have a plethora of other options when it comes to content in this digital age.

It doesn't get more cringe than this
It's was like this that actress like mamta Kulkarni could visit chota Rajan and tell him to make a movie for her but due to govt eyes on movie business they can't do that so they co finance a director or producer project and make it with big budget and if producer denies than he will have his her worst time of life
Pahle hota tha jb film industrialised nahi thi tb ab corporate companies produce karti hai aur unko sirf profit chahiye
Actual mein producers ko nhi distributor ko loss hota hai production company profit kama hi leti hai
Aur Akshay Kumar khud one of the producer hote hai uski movie mein
And also thank you movie ke stats aapke galat hai 50 crore movie ka sirf production budget tha without key actors fees
You should make a video on the failure of the Indian cricket team's failure to win an ICC tournament. A detailed and deep analysis on how BCCI's greed and politics is causing this failure.
It's not BCCI'S fault that the Indian team lost in the World Cup finals in front of more than 1 lakh people on home soil. They are chokers, can't handle the ultimate pressure and as such they deserved to lose. Simple as that.
This video would've been complete if you had done some research into the Malayalam film Industry which is a complete opposite of the Hindi and Tamil movie industry. Other than that this was a great video.

Just a question mohak. Jawan was entirely produced by Red Chillies Entertainment (Which is owned by SRK himself). So how can he take fees from his own money?
he will reduce red chillies profits by debiting this fees as cost thereby reducing the taxable profits of red chillies... Dont go abt correcting people without having any knowledge.
Probably to optimise to the minimum tax burden
Red chillies is a company it has seperate legal identity from its founders, hence he can take fees salary whatever he wants

How long will it take for us to have channels like Discovery ,Netgeo ? i dunno but i am not wasting my mind on saas bahu ,roadies and big boss or whatever is showing on the tv these days. This is not the problem of only Bollywood but also of other industries.
Exactly
But criticising Bollywood is a trend now😅
Isn't this the film industry of your country? The other industries have law of taking only certain % of the earnings
I literally want to say, this days we need content. We love to see faces of stars but we also expecting him or her to create good films and cater for what kind of taste GENZ had developed it over the decade from drama all over the world. People need something new stories and talented cast.
If producers are ready to pay, actors will charge, only 2 options are left, either producers should invest only when actors agrees to their fees, or else let actor himself produce,, For example Shahrukh Khan himself produces most of films, recent ex: Jawan and Dunki, and some other actors as well, like Aamir produced Laal singh Chadda, so even if its floo its on him, not on the producer
Wow, great research in depth with all the reasons and solution 😊
And I think Indian cinema needs to have more targeted audience. A general film can only work as a family entertainer
Still I will say Bollywood is best for me ❤
There are many many movies with changed my life 3 idiots, Swadesh, Tamasha , Lakshya....
But I agree they are now running for money than a good story.
But I believe Bollywood will sure make a comeback 👍
