    "If we are critical of systems in India". Jammy you said it right but a lot of us are not ready for this conversation. I do feel people have accepted that flawed systems are part and parcel of our country and some of us are beneficiary of it. It will take people a few years to understand what you said here because people are busy in maintaining loyalties to their favorite political parties although it must be the other way around. PEOPLE MUST UNDERSTAND THAT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PEOPLE AND THE POLITICAL PARTIES MUST BE LIKE A ONE-SIDED LOVER. Only political parties are supposed to work and love us, not the other way around.

    DUDE. That is my favourite scene from Simmba.
    The scene was like this,
    Sonu sood's brothers were encountered by Simmba so he angrily starts shouting on him for the betrayal. He says 'tu toh anaath hai, tujhe kya pata maa kya hoti hai, baap kya hota hai, bhai kya hota hai...'
    Simmba replies to him 'mera poora family hai, meri maa hai, mera baap hai, meri behen bhi hai. Haan mera koi bhai nahi hai, par vo toh ab tera bhi nahi hai'. 💀 (Scene zooms in punch line part)
    Dude, that scene is frekin good. Epitome of hindi mass commercial cinema. 😭🔥

    Absolutely aligned with Anmol's take on Kabir Khan's filmography. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is what it is, because of the brilliant script of Rajamouli's father. I've felt the same what Jammy said while watching 83 and Chandu Champion, its creatively beautiful to look at personally but screenplay and storytelling feels 'sooo mundane' repeating exactky what you except, very predicatable and extremely mediocre from writing stand point.

      Bajrangi Bhaijaan had a brilliant script? 😂 Story was predictable as hell, characters were childish and one-dimensional, the climax was unnecessarily stretched, and some scenes (Bhaijaan saving the girl from the brothel, the entire scene of them illegally crossing the border) were some of the most stupid scenes I have ever seen. I don't care if it is an unpopular opinion, but I liked Chandu Champion better.

    Majority of the people were actually calling out the hypocrisy of the statement "I don't feel safe in India" rather than threatening Amir Khan. Just bcoz 1 or 2 jerks threatened him maybe to get media attention doesn't mean people were wrong to call him out on that one. And as far as Naseeruddin Shah is concerned the less we talk abt him the better. Dude's like Kangana Ranaut but on the other end of the same scale.

    Question for shan,pj and jammy ,is it easier for you guys to separate ideology of filmmaker from the film. I can speak for myself i cannot do it now. I am fan of movies but contributing to success of a writer/director/ actor of a movie who overlook atrocities on one community and only highlight fault line of that community is where i draw the line. I didn't watched kerala story as people said that its a propaganda piece but when i see similar type of propaganda in works by Mr Kashyap or in stand up of Varun Grover my conscious prohibit me to watch their work(Jigra is written by Varun Grover). Do you also face same dilemma while evaluating a piece of art

    • @asp11177
      @asp11177 16 дней назад +2

    You could say Taxi Driver might feel boring on a first watch, but that's not true for The Shawshank Redemption, which remains captivating even for someone new to Hollywood films. Movies like Taxi Driver and Mulholland Drive tend to grow on you over time. But both the early mentioned movies has much more cinematic value comparatively. Gold and Maidaan looks visually gorgeous and camaraderie between characters, music, sound design, overall feel is way ahead of Chak de. It might be a very hot take but, songa nd Shah Rukh Khan are only reasons people like it more than the other two i mentioned. 🤷🏻

    The reason why I think people are so pissed at bollywood and why bollywood can't do things what they used to do earlier is their selective targeting of one particular community. Just like you said a brahmin eating beef... did you ever think a maulvi eating pork? Why is it that the 2nd scenario never even comes to our mind? Because bollywood has been pushing the narrative of one particular community as loathsome and inferior for decades while always portraying another one as superior and that should be looked upto. Let me give you another example. You would have heard of this saying khoon ki holi. Have you ever seen this phenomenon happening in real life? However bloodshed is there on bakrid but you will never hear khoon ki bakrid. Why is that? The examples are countless and I can go on and on but I guess you get my point. Bollywood has lost its credibility given this selective targeting followed up by their hypocrite and inconsistent nature (the environmental activism during diwali, holi etc isn't maintained during eid, christmas etc.). Bollywood didn't mend its way and thus the fallout with the general populace has been worse than it should have been.
