I can agree with the first one. But I genuinely believe the hindi sequel topped the original film. Way more dramatic and Akshaye Khanna was just the right addition needed
My problem with bollywood remakes is the fact that they aren't even trying to upgrade the original film, they are just remaking already popular films, remember that the films like hera pheri and dhamal were also remakes but no one was bothered from them because 1) No one knew about their original versions 2) They were faithful to the original scripts and even better than the original on ones at some aspects

@@vsansanv29101_sd there's a difference even though I didn't like jawaan much but the difference between what Akshay does and atlee does is that atlee amalgamates these other movies in such a way that they become really fun to watch even if the plot is predictable and it's still joined to gether as something new. Whereas Akshay Kumar's remake in recent years never Elevate what the original movie stood for and either copy each and every scene or it just feels underwhelming with forced comedy or romance.
I’m feeling bad for Akshay Kumar,. He is no less than a legend and is talented. But due to his over versatility and releasing 5 films every half a year made his fall. His remakes of South Indian films is also adding to this. He should take a break and pounce back. By some means he should create hype which is missing in the audience
I genuinely think Jolly LLB 3 may be his big return. Welcome and Housefull 5 are just franchise cash grabs. Arshad and his comic timing may work wonders

Surya is like a legend in Telugu with his gajini and his Tamil dubs Bollywood made money usually by whole India watching when remakes as the budgets were low for local industries and production levels were low bolly remakes were like a premium product back in the day but with the south industries getting better production quality and larger reach Bollywood is ending up spending equal amounts in remake’s than the original making them look cheap and feel like a knock off. Not even getting them the basic. Primarily cuz Bollywood is so bloated at this point they need to spend nearly double what other industries spend to even come close the same quality

Honestly Drishyam 2 worked majorly because of attachment to the original actors/ characters in Hindi Drishyam. It was extremely tactful of the makers to retain every character, apart from the obvious stars, like Gaitonde and the chai shop owner. Malayalam drishyam 2 not available in hindi is a major factor yes, but I remember my excitement was off the charts for Drishyam 2, even though I had seen the malayalam... because they were not the Salgaonkars and Meera Deshmukh I was attached to. And adding Akshaye Khanna was a masterstroke, he was so good in his brilliant cheeky investigator avatar.
Jeethu Joseph got a thread for the 3rd and last part. He narrated it to Mohanlal and obviously he is interested! Currently both are shooting for "Ram". Maybe in future if that thread turns into a script, we can see the 3rd and final part of Drishyam, if it becomes successful we can see the remake in Hindi also 👍

And what business suspended/dismissed SI Gaitonde had in taking part in a criminal investigation? Poor writing actually.

@@TriedRefusedProductions That's the best part. Jai Bhim may change peoples perception towards Tamil cinema. The other genre of films that are reaching a point of saturation (for me I guess) are biopics. Because it’s always the same trope of being an underdog, overcoming against all odds and then being victorious. They do work, however it’s just tiring that less and less fictional movies are coming out lately. 12th fail was great along with Srikant, Sam Bahadur and the list just goes on. It’s a rarity to get good fictional tales that are worth watching. And what even happened to the comedy genre!
Comedy is literally dead in the Hindi film industry! Kathal and Madgaon Express are dime a dozen!! Subsequently what this has also lead to is the death of the horror genre and what we have is the khichdi - Horror comedy on the rise!! Nothing against it but it has inadvertently made producers just continuously milking the same instead of trying to make a true horror film!!🥺💔
@@TriedRefusedProductions I absolutely agree. Maidan was such a banger sports biopic with great choreography and cinematography but flopped massively, if it would've been popular like any masala film it could've revived Indian football fans or general interest in football amongst indians.
They remake so many movies and yet when our regional movies become a pan - hit, they say our movies are over the top, too much masala, over acting or bad. But they never care to watch drishyam, jersey or ratasaan and only look at the masala ones, of you overcome the language barrier (like how we do with animes), then i assure you indian movies industry would go beyond bollywood.
I feel that remakes if made with passion and conviction plus a real intention of making it its own film can really deliver even today. Problem is we've just got so many subpar ones that the audience loses interest just by hearing the word "remake."
Films of Ayushman khurana and Rajkumar rao from 2015 to before covid was breath of fresh air. Sad that in the age of so much information and evrything available people still watch remakes when better original are available. 😢
I don’t get why akshay would get inspired from south indian stories /biopic and punjabify it . Be it gopinath in soorarai pottru or mathunny mathews story in airlift . Wouldnt be surprised if he remakes the life story of rabindranath tagore and renames it ravinder thakur
Veeram is NOT a mediocre film. It's one of the most enjoyable Ajith Kumar films of the last decade. It has significant viewership in the TV re-runs even after 10 years.
I find myself questioning the mindset of Bollywood producers who persist in investing in remake projects, despite the many failures we've witnessed. It seems incredibly irrational to pour crores from your pocket into something the public has already seen and can easily access before the new film even releases.
The problem is they don't have big risks taking minds. They are always going to go with the proven formula of making a remake with a big star and few dance numbers and nice songs. The movie will be a hit. I hope When Kalki 2898 AD gets a superhit producer and big studios show some bug heart for these nig projects.

Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan have been very lucky, they survived the transition from the 90's to the 2000 unlike Govinda, Bobby Deol and a few other actors, but now the audience are much harder to please and need way more, things are not like the simpler times of the 90s, hence why many established actors are struggling to connect with the audience and deliver a hit
After the Southern industries started dubbing their movies in Hindi I don't think there is a point in making a remake people can just watch the original in hindi why would anyone care going to the theatre
I believe, Akshay need Gabbar is back returns, he has to invest in the story, appearance. But the problem with Akshay is, he won't be able to do so, as he is working for the government but need a movie which must be based on anti- establishment.
OMG😮 This was straight from heart, well done Jammy. We all are tired of remakes, what we want is a simple relatable story with proper casting. Kabir Singh and Jersey were the two exceptions because of the actor who does make us believe in his performance.
I still don't understand why filmmakers fail to recognize that if a regional movie's dubbed version is easily accessible for general public and there will definitely be many comparisons made once it's Hindi language film is released, the risk of failure becomes huge. As Late Irrfan Khan had said, filmmakers should stop catering to image of stars and focus on the story primarily.
In my opinion Akshay performance in "Atrangi Re" is gone unnoticed....he gave such a brilliant performance in the movie....and Akshay in OMG 2 is just wow😍.......Hope Our Akki Came Back in form because his screen presence is unmatched 😍
The thing about remaking is, it used to work in 2000s because we didn't have resources and exposure to other cinemas due to language barrier. However, now OTT platforms provides movies with subtittles and dubbing which doesn't make sense for audience to watch remake and not original.

1. Due to pandemic & rise of OTT platforms, people have become accustomed in exploring good and original content beyond their comfort zone and known language. 2. Subtitles are happily accepted now. 3. Quality of dubbing has tremendously improved. Because of the above three points it makes zero sense to watch these remakes even though they are good, than watching the original. Hence, only those remakes can survive that can strike a balance between being faithful to the original material and introducing enough original content that is actually good.

The only reason remake of post apocalyptic hollywood movie is exciting me is because one the only zombie movies made in india are like parodies of the genre that is comedy and second it is directed by kabir khan so there is a chance he will improvise and make it a lot more engaging considering his past films. Meanwhile a really amazing video jammy, i strongly recommend you to watch the interview of bharadwaj rangan with karan johar (it has other well known directors like anurag kashyap and even actors like pooja hegde and dulqar salman). Akshay Kumar is really not learning his lesson from choosing the right script of movies. His roles are over saturated when I am talking about him in a utilized villain character like Amrish Puri and supporting roles like Anil Kapoor. He is also humorous in comedy, which he can continue doing. He should do not more than 1 film every year to get into real character. That’s how big money will come into hand for Akshay.

Absolutely without the shadow of a doubt.
My problem with bollywood remakes is the fact that they aren't even trying to upgrade the original film, they are just remaking already popular films, remember that the films like hera pheri and dhamal were also remakes but no one was bothered from them because
1) No one knew about their original versions
2) They were faithful to the original scripts and even better than the original on ones at some aspects

Funnily enough Sudha Kongra wanted to make this and the producers were more than happy to oblige!!😡
I think less biopics but sports biopics that are just reaching a sense of boredom! No one is watching them
Comedy is literally dead in the Hindi film industry! Kathal and Madgaon Express are dime a dozen!! Subsequently what this has also lead to is the death of the horror genre and what we have is the khichdi - Horror comedy on the rise!! Some of the film makers who do unrealistic and over glamorous depiction of working class-
Karan Johar
Yash chopra
Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Aditya chopra
Imitiaz Ali
Zoya Akthar
Ayan Mukherjee (I was shocked to see pictures perfect orphanage in Brahmastra)
Rajkumar hirani
Well saathiya is a remake of alaipayuthey(tamil) , saaki is a telugu dubbed version of tamil.. Original is alaipayuthey
@@arunsmanohar1352 because bollywood add extra glamour dresses and make-up
First one to comment. A big fan of yours from Bangladesh.
Bro, what Indian language movies are popular in Bangladesh?
@@WranglerDude She's a sis, not bro.
I still yearn for those amazing love stories from Bollywood where you could relate to those characters and feel their emotions. I miss those old films. Now its not love, its just lust or cringe and hate the characterization or story itself.
Why always criticize bollywood when their own south director and producer want to remake their own movie
Unhe aur paisa kamana h
@@kashutosh9132 so South industry are greedy ok
They’re making 💰 it is a game of money.
He as a producer has given a really great insight on why many bollywood movies don't work or why they need improvisation.
Konsi film ki adaption ki baat ho rahi h?
@@kashutosh9132 Its not revealed and jammy mentioned it in the video but i rechecked kabir khan has said its a rumour
Jammy bro.... I m actually surprised that you are convinced by the glimpses of acting from Akshay Kumar in this trailer..... Cuz I actually brought together the same clipping of the 2 protagonists - Surya & Akshay - seeing the aircraft from far through a glass window with thick tears on his eyes.... And the contrast in the intensity of their emotion was so stark that Akshay looked like he doesn't want to emote as much as Surya does....
It is unfair to compare Akshay Kumar with Surya even though Akshay is a good actor. Surya is just another level. Him, Dhanush, Prithvu raj ( Malayalam), Jr NTR and Allu Arjun from Tollywood are the best in this current era.
@@sunnyshabaz4615 then isn't it unfair or rather disrespectful to cast Akshay Kumar in a Surya movie's remake???
With all due respect to Akshay, he has huge shoes to fill as Suriya nailed each scene.
The airport scene still moves me.
the pleading airport scene, the late arrival for the last rites, so many moments!
Drishyam 2 and Shaitaan were remakes of films that didn't have Hindi dubbed version available for the audiance.
Holiday first offered to Akshay Kumar but Vijay's Thuppakki release first Akshay gave permission to make movie with Vijay due to date issues
First that script was offered to suriya. Ar murugadoss narrated 2 stories to suriya 7am arivu and thuppaki(holiday) , suriya choose 7am arivu. After that only he narrated to Akshay. Even at that time also the script wasnt completed fully. Akshay wasn't the first here😅
@@vikram7978 I'm talking about Thuppakki ( Holiday) it was first decided to be made with Akshay Kumar but due to date issues Thuppakki got made first then holiday got made
@@TarunMBhiseDude I have clearly wrote I'm my comments do you understand. Thuppaki script was first offered to suriya not Akshay. Akshay wasn't the first guy. See murugadoss interview on galata plus he clearly tells that the thuppaki script was told to another actor and after that only he told to Akshay both didn't finalise and the script wasnt fully completed. Finally he made with vijay. Thupaaki was initially planned to make with suriya not with Akshay or Vijay.
@@vikram7978 Bro I am not talking about Suriya
I'm talking about Thuppakki and Holiday
How technically Holiday is not Remake
@@TarunMBhise Holiday is a remake only accept and move on that's all. It was Akshay mistake. And hadn't Akshay acted in a film which was first to another actors. When murugadoss narrated to Akshay the script wasn't completed first of all. It was only half script. This was also told by murugadoss only. After that murugadoss made several changes.so technically murugadoss made full script for thuppaki only.
I think bollywood industry feels that people dont watch tollywood movies and they rather watch bollywood but they dont even know that even non indians people stopped watching bollywood movies because they found tollywood movies and how they have various stories unlike bollywood 90% about wars between hindu and Muslim people ate fed up and also this thing applies to indian dramas people stopped watching and switched to pakstain or korean or turky because they have stories plot not like drama over dramatic. That my pov
Problem was they original films have Hindi dubbed and they remaking Hindi…. Why 😂
bollywood needs new blood, it should be embarrassing that there is no new talent ruling the box office
No one can match Surya's Acting performance 🔥🔥🔥 should have dubbed in Hindi and released it 😂 maybe Akshay Kumar acted well. but but no where it can be compared with surya's acting
Thank you! This was well made and cohesive in delivery. I hope Akshay and other actors get to show something that is unique and original soon, but its fantastic that we live in a time where movies of all langauges are getting well deserved praise. 🎉
Akshay Kumar needs to start playing more of a father role he needs to stop romancing younger female co-stars on screen like he's in his 30s
not only Akshay but many more
For someone who had seen Forrest Gump twice, I absolutely loved Lal Singh Chaddha. The Indianization of the story was spot on and it better connected with me.
I liked Shahid Kapoor's Jersey, have not watched Nani's original but if you watch it as a standalone film it's quite a good watch. Shahid brings that charm, energy and kabir singh kind of attitude in that film.
Upon all the thing one that make the remakes awkward is remaking a film and making that a second installment of any previous successful films.
Jammmyyyy yaaaarrr.. 💯 ❤ your feelings have been felt!
Akshay is good actor but I feel that intense role like nedumaran rajangam would only suit Suriya sir since he played intense roles before but Akshay sir played mostly action or comic roles and it doesn't suit his acting ability
Veeram was actually good. For the tamil audience it was indeed refreshing even though its a basic commercial it has few good elements ❤️
The only good thing that comes out of these movies are the "Matlab Kuch Bhi" episodes we get to see.
Finally some reviewer talkin in detail about this remake bs
The best thing about Sarfira trailer was Suriya's glimpse
what is he playing. What joint universe is this lol
I think it was Sudha Kongara's cheeky way of saying no one can come close to Suriya's performance in Soorarai Pottru 😅
Though Jersey is a remake but Shahid kapoor's performance in Jersey ( Hindi version) is so powerful ❤
