I love this one and had a great time making the video. While living in downtown Denver, I walked into a hip salon and told the Goth-chick, working there what I had in mind. She broke into a huge smile and said, "I've been waiting my whole career for you to walk in here. Let's do this!". A great fingerstyle cover of a great cover by Tears for Fears, written by Roland Orzabal and sung by Curt Smith. It was covered by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules for the soundtrack to the movie Donnie Darko in 2001. Get the TAB or notation here:

This is the type of playing in I enjoy the most. It's not reliant on the dreaded percussion-guitar, the notes are clear and ringing, and you can hear up to three notes all playing in harmony, weaving them all at once.

My first thought was, oh - ok I might skip the liner. But his portrayal is so majestic he might as well have worn a space suit and it wouldn't've mattered. This is probably the most gifted rendition of this song, and the only one fingered this way. The harmonics in the beginning and end are absolute genius. Bravo Chap. Truly.

I think that makes me pretty happy with it. The video isn't serious, but the music really is. So, yea, I got made up and dressed for Halloween, but as always, the music swept me away and BAM....there you have it.
This music had always inspired and enchanted me.

In case you were born before 1980, this tune is associated with a dark film, "Donnie Darko" which has kind of a cult following which is heavy with "Emo" culture. Hence the make-up and black nail polish and the general darkness of this video.
