Thank you so much for this video! I just purchased one of these to start to share my family's old photos. This was an excellent "first read" on the things I should be aware of. Great job! I really appreciate it.
Excellent info! Thank you! A helpful addition to this digital documentation process, is to occasionally visit the local pub to enjoy your favorite beverage and talk to yourself about the frustrations of dealing with thousands of photos! Or, better yet, bring a friend who is familiar with what you are experiencing! Be SURE to have someone present who is a designated driver, or have someone pick you up!!!!!! 😄😄😄
I have two of these scanners, they work really well except you have to clean them very often otherwise you get a line on the scan and also on the photo. I had forgotten about the thicker photos, I had been using my flat bed. Thanks!
How well does this work to scan documents and invoices?... I need a scanner to scan thousands of photos but I don't want to have to purchase a separate scanner for my documents, receipts, invoices (typical other household and small business paperwork)....
Hi Java - sorry for the delay in reply. . . been on Christmas vacation! Anyway, if you are still looking for an answer, you can use the Fastfoto Scanner app for receipts and invoices but they will only be saved as JPGs (or TIFF, if you choose.) You can use the Epson Scan 2 software to scan as PDFs. I think it did a nice job on the receipt and invoice I just tested it on. You'll have to play with the settings related to getting front and back, etc. Hope this helps! Cheers! Mollie
Hi Richard - Two ways. . . 1. Here at this point: ruclips.net/video/gG9VdzR7kbA/видео.htmlsi=jrhozKvwSE7FnWf4&t=123, I explain where to save the photos in a folder. When you choose the folder, click the thumb drive which should show up on the left side. Then, the scanner will scan the files to your thumb drive. 2. Copy the folder to the thumb drive. (if you are using File Explorer, open the file icons and copy the folder to your thumb drive.) Here's a video about using File Explorer: ruclips.net/video/Zayw5I0MuMo/видео.htmlsi=x87YOSG-RmucWgco Hoping this helps! Mollie
Thanks- I love Mine - 12,000 K Scanned.. the Major thing I learned is that you must have a can of Air and microfiber cloth handy because these photos degrade and make both scanning sides dirty which produces streaks etc... TY Again !! I need more info in the future on how to better handle meta data from inside Apple Photos- ( can get messy as the devices get changed out--- Just got METAPHO App and so far love it -works on my MAC Pro and iPhone... will set GPS even - see below pls
when looking at the apples photo "location Data" it will mark it but for future uses and when opened in Metaphor also gives you the WARning - "Although this location is assigned , but file has no Geotag. to export them-or even ad that data - what I like is that it adds it - DELETES the prev version and saves back the new Data if u wish- that was - it can't keep " accidentally " default to an old edit.....
Hello, re; FastFoto dating feature, Q1; can you edit photo date after it has been scanned ? I have literally thousands of photos in numerous albums, with most albums spanning multiple years & events. I would like to batch scan the photos per album (maybe 10 or 20 at a time) and go back to each photo and edit the date. Will the software allow me to do this ? Q2. Along the same line of thinking, the photo digitizing project/task may be divided bt siblings, some who only scan, some who would 'at a later date' take care of dating and naming each photo, .. will the software allow this 'back editing' ?
The software doesn't allow you to change the photo date. However, you can do this in Windows 10 and 11 File Explorer. Also, you can do it with Adobe Bridge, XNView MP and other programs. Windows 10 - ruclips.net/video/Zayw5I0MuMo/видео.htmlsi=_m9xexHErNwfMhRP Windows 11 - ruclips.net/video/rH2L3o76pCk/видео.htmlsi=mAv9hIXUeWSKkDXH Adobe Bridge - ruclips.net/video/Vx9ORQyihL8/видео.htmlsi=_1d_sIVkU0ij_wC8 (talks about renaming, but you can change the Date Taken field in the Metadata Panel Hoping this helps! How does the scanner handle photos with rounded corners? Does it keep the corners intact or does it crop the image a little to not have any rounded corners?
Hi Thomas - I meant to test this but forgot… I believe the rounded corners are cropped off. We have other scanners where that rounded corner is left and a weird little pattern where there is no photo. I don’t recall that this Epson fast photo has that issue. I will double check when I’m back in the office on Monday! Cheers! Mollie

I can't speak to Metaphor. I am sorry! Do you use a Mac or a PC?
