Thank you so much for putting up about the errors on you tube. I had tried several times to put in the code and it wouldn't work. After seeing what it did to you with the errors I realized I had transposed a couple digits on my code. Thanks again so much.
Hero ...thank you sooooooooo much. I wasn't getting anywhere with my Honda dealership or 9ther videos, as I had no idea how to get out of error screen. THANK YOU BIG TIME, I dedicate the first song I hear on my radio to you!
Warning ⚠️ If you disconnect the battery the anti-theft alarm will go on! Honda website says if you enter the wrong code you need to WAIT 1 hour and then enter correct code.
I watched three other videos this is awesome I did it you're awesome this was the easiest way some Hondas in the newer Hondas they said you could just hold the power button down for about 40 seconds and it just automatically bypasses that but your way worked for me thank you so much I haven't had a radio in so long
I don't know how I could thank you enough! It's been so long I've been using my ipod for music and I ran out of songs. and the radio is so much better!
Thanks for the fix on this. I had to do this on my Honda Odyssey yesterday. I actually just removed the negative lead and then also removed and re-inserted the "backup" fuse and that did the trick! Glad I had the code.
Thank you so much for the help. I tried to remember code to enter instead of looking it up and ended up locking radio. You saved my nerves with this information. Again thank you 💙
Instead of messing with the battery, you can just pull the fuse out. I believe it’s the number 9 slot and a yellow 20 fuse, that fuse is for the cigarette lighter and the radio. [BOOM]
I say to be very careful about disconnecting the battery. Since we replaced the battery in my mom's car, the radio has had issues. Something to do with disconnecting it, makes it a problem passing smog (good ol California), now we're having to drive it a lot of miles on the highway, hoping when we bring it in the 4th time, it passes. Was able to get the code for the radio, but get "Error 1, 2, 3..." when we try to put it in. Will try removing the fuse and see if it'll work. The instructions in the manual are basically nonexistent too.
It's only necessary to disconnect the battery ground cable to break the circuit. You don't even have to do that if you pull out the fuse in the fuse box that feeds the memory circuit in the radio. That will also reset the radio so you can put in the correct code.
Pull out just the fuse doesn't work in every car model. Honda Pilot 2007 needs disconnect at least the Battery ground cable and reconnect after a few hours
Thanks a lot, from Bolivia South Americaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
I just bought my honda but the code isnt mine and I have no card for it. Is it still recommended to try this method ? I attempted to reach out about the code no luck.. What to do from here ?
Thank you for this info but im a girl without the tool to disconnect my battery. But when I find a wrench your info will come in handy. I do have the correct code though so I guess thats something. Maybe someone from ORielly's will help me if I ask.
Thx a lot good Man. I almost smash the fracking radio until i remember the car belongs to my cousin. Honda Corporation really?. That anti thief system is so annoying.
You need to hold #1 and #6 and hit power. You'll get a serial number. Give that serial to a local honda dealership so they can give you the code. Or find a website that can decode it you. Check out the comments I think someone may have posted a link
Why not just remove the Fuse for the radio? Removing the battery resets the computer and makes the car run rough for a while while while it re learns how the engine idles.
What do yo mean exactly? Like removing it and putting it back on? Or just removing it for good? sorry I'm a bit lost in cars but I'm having this problem.
Shalanda Elise I made another video on how to retrieve the serial number in order to get the radio code hope this helps ruclips.net/video/D0rzX3GxcKM/видео.html
Removing the fuse & reinstalling it an hour or so later worked- & the code was on the glove compartment sticker. I had inadverdently gone over the 10 code limit messing around with the buttons when the 'code' message first came up.
Are you referring to the radio fuse in the engine compartment fuse box? I tried that and was just taking it out and putting it right back in. Knowing it works after a full hour is very helpful. I will try it again later.
I have a 99 civic and it didnt come with an Anti Theft card with the code or serial number for the radio. What do I do? Ive tried everything other than calling Honda an paying money to do something that is not worth $100 to do. I appreciate any help/advice. God Bless!
For year 2001 and later models, you may obtain the serial number from the device display. For models earlier than 2001, the serial number is located on the back of the device. This will require a trip to the dealer to obtain the number. radio-navicode.honda.com/
I got the code straight from Honda and it doesn’t work. Disconnected everything, tried the code again, nothing. All the time I’ve wasted I could’ve just installed an aftermarket one by now.
I don't know is all Civic the same ,but my 99 ex have the radio number on the side inside the glove box.Hope this help, like he says, you need to disconnect the battery,to reset the radio.

check your manuals or any paper work that may have come with the vehicle for a written radio code. Also check any stickers in the glove box there might be a RADIO CODE in there. if no number is found, press power and number (1)(6) on the radio itself and it will give you a serial number. use that serial number to locate the radio code. do some research and you may a website that can give you the radio code when you use the given serial number. If nothing works you may have to pay the dealership to give you the radio code. if you find the code simply type it into radio, if you mess up to many times and you a permanent error, disconnect the baterry for a couple off minutes and try the radio code again. hope this helps

Right, or just the positive (red) cable. No need to disconnect both.

To deter people from stealing the stereos
Would ErrE code in 2004 radio have anything to do with it starting
