This video helped me so much technically with the slot position. I tended to try and do a nishikori and angle the head and then pull it through and up to get topspin. However this led to huge vertical problems.Zverev simply lays it back, and pulls it forward flatly.Hugely simple and effective.
That’s a big clue In tennis what you don’t do is super important. The racquet has to accelerate smoothly. And think about the wrists as part of the forearms. The arms need to back off on the muscular effort to allow for proper acceleration
Who has a better backhand than Zverev?
basilashvili, djokovic, nadal
Love Tennis
Nishikori🙏🙏🙏
Hard to say. I think the best that can be said is that he’s among the best 2h backhands on tour along with Nishikori and Djokovic.
YoureInMySpotFBPAGE no way Rafa has the same backhand it’s his weaker side
Love Tennis Rafa’s backhand honestly is an underrated shot. Much as with Roger, the dominance of the forehand overshadows a very good backhand.

watchu mean? u need topspin tho
@@addyphoenix2655 True, but you can still be effective with a flat shot. My forehand is topspin heavy, just cant replicate that on my backhand
Zverev:: I'll put myself in there.
Thank you - very helpful footage
Great double hander.
How did you mostly remove that black screen? This showed up pretty well.
Special camera
He has so much flex in the wrists... Difficult to achieve.
It is crucial for control and topspin.
