    Djokovic with no doubt. Especially that jumping/sliding defensive backhand.

      IMO the Djokovic SBDTL (Sliding Backhand Down The Line) is his iconic trademark move. Nobody does it better than him.

      Nole, and Agassi. No surprises here. Some folks keep their wrists stiff as an iron rail: no racket drop, no top spin.

    Thanks for the video!
    I think Novak and Nalbandian have the best backhands. Zverev and Murray have solid shots also.
    Man, Cilic has an weird technique and his right leg is pointing too much to the left, makes my knee hurt only by watching him rotate when hitting. But seems to work for him.

    Great examples of how to start the swing with the lead shoulder tucked in toward the chin helping keep that racket path true through the strike zone. Something completely lost on me as I hit fly ball after fly ball to the right field corner shanking the ball off the frame of the racket.

    I can’t find a balance between pace and topspin. I can hit flat, but inconsistent, topspin, but weak, and rarely is it in between. If I do too much topspin, the ball floats and usually goes way out, and with flat it’s the same just a line drive. The point where I pronate is where I think the problem lies, as it’s either too extreme or non existent. My forehand is fine, I just have no idea how to fix it on my backhand. Any tips?
    Also, I can’t seem to hit cross court that well anymore. Is it just positioning of the body? I’m a senior in high school who’s played varsity singles for 3 years, but with covid I haven’t played much and thus forgotten much. I’ve tried playing more but it’s slow to come back. Any help would be appreciated :)

      Honestly, both of those sound like a contact point issue. But I can’t tell without seeing your shot- you should find a good teaching pro

    • @Abc-qm5to
      @Abc-qm5to 3 года назад

      @@coleschemistrychannel4172 yeah I figure it’s contact. And I’ve had coaching for years, and then it was fine, but in the last 2 years I really haven’t had much training, more just playing. And currently, good coaching is extremely expensive, which is why I’m hesitant. Just have to keep practicing I guess

    One thing I don’t understand is that most of the players in this video don’t move their feet at all after they have set up. It is kind of like they have planted their feet and won’t move unless they absolutely have to. I play Junior professionally and I have always been told to do this.

    • @svettenisa1
      @svettenisa1 2 года назад +1

      In professional tennis ball is much faster, they have to block the ball in most cases, they don't need extra power. Also in some situations you need move your feet but not together with the hips (many coaches explain wrong), that feet comes naturally as a result of balance. Coaches force that leg so juniors don’t fall on their backs.

    Agassi the best backhand........ rest is trash. look at all the rest flexing their wrist. no power in that because the ball doesn't sit on the strings as long. probably gonna get a lot of hate from all the current gen little kiddy fans.

    • @goodwinholley9986

      djokovic and nadal extend just as well as agassi

    • @svettenisa1
      @svettenisa1 2 года назад +2

      Flexing a wrist is consequences of holding the grip. There is nothing wrong about that, it's just different style. If someone has a different style doesn't mean that he has a bad backhand.
