Fritz and Korda did pretty good. Best one-handers I have seen: Stan, Roger, Thiem, Guga, Gasquet, Gaudio, Almagro and Henin. My personal favorites are Stan’s and Henin’s.
I agree with McEnroe. Justine Henin has the best backhand men’s or women’s. With her semi western grip she gets the most spin and handles high balls the best.
De Minaur says the right thing : "I wanted a one handed backhand, but my coach didn't let me do", that's exactly what happens in all the tennis schools all over the world since the end of the eighties.

These days my one handed backhand is better than my forehand, definitely raises some brows at the club. I’m really happy I made the switch from 2 to 1 a decade ago.
Fritz really has a pretty good one-handed backhand... he might as well consider switching to it from time to time!!! Ons is so adorably funny... "cut, cut..." & "see you!" *long look...* Hahahahahaha...
As the official defender of Norrie's backhand......a large part of his success has been that players have hated playing against his backhand. The lack of height over the net and flatness is something they don't normally have to deal with.
I used both, but my one hander was better. Like, I wanted to use both hands because I was an Agassi fan. But nope, my body disagreed. Now my right shoulder is completely shot and I can’t even play Wii Tennis. 😂
Stan when he won French open Crazy backhand, only Nadal could have countered it on clay otherwise his backhand during that title run was much stronger than any double handed backhand
Jannik Sinner hits a nice single-handed backhand - he hit a great running single-handed backhand pass against Tomas Machac in Miami this year. Taylor Fritz has the best one, in my opinion, on display - his single-handed backhand is crazily good!!!
Fritz and Korda were really impressive. funny that no player uses both solutions, 2 handed backhand for high balls, and one hand for lower balls and slices.
The ease with which these pro players can hit one handed backhanders like that is amazing. Almost perfect technique by lots of them and no frame hit at all.
Do you mean that's a good or bad thing that they were using that grip? I'm an absolutely terrible player, been learning for 15 years and still suck. I am left-hand, single hand backhand and use a continental grip.
I guess these players never watched Henin, Kuerten or Gaudio. They could do whatever they wanted with their backhand. Sure Roger was amazing but come on...

Fritz best, Ons, Korda and Sinner showed promise
i saw him play a lot one handed in another video when he's practicing.

You’re using your chest more with the one hander so it expels more effort
Chest open for single handed backhands and more wrist . Normal back head chest compressed more waist movement.

Yeh Henin had the smoothest onehander technique of the WTA, maybe even the mens honestly. Beautiful and versatile shot!
