I see that you didn't run the aux cable from head unit to "Aux in" plug, is that not necessary?. I am thinking of buying one, i have 2014 bmw 328i xdrive F30 NBT.
90% of F30's do not need to be connected to the AUX input jack in the armrest box. Unless you properly adapted the fiber optic to android harness still not getting sound.
If you buy a Linux product, it does not have a 4G antenna with GPS antenna. If you purchase an Android item, it will definitely have the above mentioned accessories in its harness package .
I dont have a usb slot on my 2012 F30 to thread the USB. However, my glovebox has a usb drive already on the right, a usb in my center console and an aux in my center console. Can i just use those?
Install the PEMP Android screen without interfering with the original USB work. If you can't get sound, you need to connect the Android AUDIO OUT and AUX IN together to get sound.
@@pempcar thanks. I'll give this a shot today. I was able to boot it up and I ran into a few issues with the original OEM screens being cut off on the resolution in the texts. Slightly shaking. Also, the cameras seem to work in the OEM view but I think I bought the package that has extra cameras like the top down view the front side cameras and those don't seem to work. I'm going to check your FAQ video that came with the kit and see if any of that documentation helps me solve for these other issues. Overall it felt very clean. My wife joked that I'm making my own Tesla.
@@jeffcraig8475 1. You can set the oem screen resolution. ruclips.net/video/jOK8bPDxtzo/видео.html 2. If you have the OEM camera, you just need to buy a front view camera to get front video. Hello, I am getting sound but it sounds very poor in comparison to the original setup before. The strange thing is: i do not have any green optic fiber caples that i had to unplug from the original power harness and plug to the android harness. So that piece simply doesn‘t exist in my car. And i don‘t have the problem of not having any sound. I just have very poor sound over the android system and it does not reach maximum volume, so quality is worse and more quiet than the original thing. When I switch to the original bmw software (while android is still plugged in) Radio and my music over the original setup sounds way better and how I‘m used to it. So it seems like a software issue. Can you please help?
Thanks for the info. Yes, the Android sound is fed from the AUX channel of the OEM radio, so it does sound a bit worse than the OEM sound quality. We are trying to fix this by using the OEM Bluetooth or USB interface. Guess it will take a few more months to get it done.
No, if your original head unit isn't working, you won't be able to get the Android sound, and the OEM menus won't show up. I suggest you restore the original headunit to normal before purchasing it later.
I just installed yesterday. And I am not getting audio. I tried the AUX cord and nothing. The optical fiber cord is connected good. It played music one time after I turned the car off it stopped again
Please select the OEM's AUX menu before each entry into the Android. If it still can't be solved, please contact our after-sales service team at service@pempcar.com

If your car doesn't have 2 green fiber optic cables. You just ignore it. PEMP Android will work fine.
How come the sound only sounds clear when it’s plugged into the aux? And then when I unplug the aux it sounds like static?
Yes, all Android sounds can only be input from the AUX channel of the stock interface.
