Totally! Sometimes the parents are worn out, but they also can be rude and snotty back which isn't mature.
But however hard they mustn't give up.
We all can learn from this show and similar ones to be kinder, open with feelings, try to find solutions to focus energy on positives. Don't abandon your children to be with friends all the time. Love but be firm, give suitable consequences that suit the bad choices, but for the right reasons not to vent your own anger.

Kids don't just need discipline, they actually crave it. Discipline actually makes kids feel valued and cared for. Emily was troubled precisely because her parents weren't around to say yes or no. Children need rules and structure, to feel valued.
