Kento footwork is so on point and that's one of the reasons why he's so good at covering the court even he's small and play patiently with his splendid stamina.

175 cm is small? Lin Dan is 178cm and LCW 172, I would say there are less tall players, only good ones being Viktor, Chen Long, LZJ at the momtent.

Exactly. Hope he will get better & better, slowly but surely. The coach and team must also focus on his mental strength. All the best to Kento Momota for next tournament 💪 Btw just like the commentators said actually this is an advantage for Victor to win because of Momota condition (still in the progress to getting back to his top form because of the injury and so on). Despite that Victor still have to play rubber set with Momota.

I thought Viktor would be taking the 1st game when he was 14-7 up in the game, but the turnaround brutally happened.
When Momota was 17-14 up in the 2nd game, I thought he was winning the match, but Viktor showed his mentality to level the match.
In the deciding game, honestly, I was afraid of the same thing would happen when Viktor was 14-7 up, but thankfully this time, Viktor capitalised it.
Finally, congrats to Viktor on continuing his winning streak and also it’s good to see Momota is getting better and better after the car accident.

Kento... getting close to 2019 form, but still needs to improve his focus. I was thinking if he could beat Viktor again today, that would be the mental springboard to get him "officially" back to his 2019 self, because of Viktor's own white-hot form at the moment. 17-14 in the second game and in all honesty, was doing all the right things to keep Viktor at arm's length. His defence was working. His net shots were good. He was patient, just waiting for Viktor to make the errors in some of the long rallies. Gone were the meaningless, unthreatening clears he's played so often recently against the likes of Heo Hwang Hee. Every clear was at the right height, that would make Viktor run to get to, but couldn't attack outright. He was using the dead zone hits to good effect, and just at the moment Morten Frost suggested in commentary that he should "whack" some of the attacking shots, he did it, and Viktor had no real answers.
And then for some reason his focus goes out the window at 17-15. Needlessly lost the second game by winning only one point of the last seven of that game, and the confidence goes.
If I were his coach, I'd give him the encouragement that he obviously still KNOWS how to beat Viktor but needs to keep it one point at a time. That's important moving forward.

I agree with you, he should keep playing rally in the second set rather than keep hitting the gas for the kill, but, nonetheless, this will be a good experience for momota because I never knew he will be this good after playing poorly since the olympic, rather than feeling disappointed, I feel happy that he lose because from there he will rise up again to be the best again ☺️

I thought it was very shocking how he made 5 misjudgments that ended up costing him the 2nd set. It seemed like he was looking for easy free points. The 5 that he misjudge were clearly in.

Incredible fight...I wonder if I have ever seen so physical a match with multiple rallies over 40 shots before. Momota's rhythm is amazing and he is not the best match-up for Viktor as he reads Viktor's game better than all the other players. However, Viktor solved the puzzle in the end by daring to make the feints and increasing the pace when it mattered the most. He just cannot allow himself to be passive and predictable. I hope we can get this kind of match again :)
