I'll forever regret buying Azabache from the Santa Lucia Dark collection by the guy who does Teaching Men Fashions. Very mediocre sweet coffee scent. What made it even worse was the completely misleading advertising where they solicited additional orders when they didn't have the raw materials to fulfill current orders, 6 weeks to even ship, and when it arrived the bottle was just thrown in a shipping box with packing peanuts and a leaking collar. Most craptacular purchase ever.

I am thankfully too poor and too paranoid to blind buy online. 😅 By Killian's Dark Lord is still my biggest regret. I had a crapton of Mancera and Montale samples accumulated over the years and I've regretted nearly every one of them.😅
I have regretted every sample of Mancera and Montale I have bought. They are all chemical messes.
Decantx grab some cheap sample bottles of something you hear about, way before buying it. I've gotten everything from there, the wait is a bit long but its super cheap. Or, always look for clones, remember, the companies can never copyright the scents, only the bottle shape and name, beyond that, there's always someone making a clone of something ridiculously priced.
I feel very called out when you had that line about gifting Azzaro Wanted. I did exactly that. 😂
I'll always regret purchasing Joop Ice 🤷♂️ I'm just glad that bathroom spray was cheap 😉...🤔 However, it's the most expensive bathroom spray I've purchased.
Saw the title and thought "Wanted Tonic will be in this." Boom first one. Ash never misses an opportunity to tell us how much he dislikes it LOL
Yeah Ash I’m finding that most of my collection aging /maturing on my shelf is a real thing. Some I didn’t care for now smell amazing, or they are better than they were initially. I’m reaching for older bottles- 1/2 years old and I’m pleasantly surprised. Like my bottle of ADG Profumo smells so much richer than it did when I first got it.

My VCanto Mastin faded most of its bugspray note after letting it sit for almost 8 months. The flip side, it got too strong I can only wear it at colder nights when I used to tolerate one puff of it even at a baking hot summer day.

I regret buying Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Eau Intense. It is loud, headache inducing, and metallic. Paid full retail.
Geee, we all have these... These you use not much, but still have to use until they're empty, just to not ever buy them again.
But hey, we all got hooked on the opening once and have to spend the tuition fee...
Hey Ash, have you ever considered picking up/reviewing any of the Jo Malone "Cologne Intense" series? I picked up the Myrrh&Tonka one specifically, and it's excellent! My skin tends to eat fragrances very quickly, but this projects hours on end for me. After a shift at work I'm still smelling it. That as well as Oud&Bergamot I recommend!
Myrrh & Tonka from Jo Malone is absolutely fantastic! Totally underrated, not any big channels talk about it. I'm curious about Ash's opinion on it!
I find ALL of those to be lacking in all honesty. I love the Velvet Rose & Oud, it starts out pretty strong and then within 45 minutes to an hour it just falls flat. Lucky u though.👍👍👍
I was only really disappointed when I blind bought Jovan Black Musk. The fragrance itself is freakin magnificent, from first spray to dry down. The only problem is that the only people that can enjoy it are the ones who get about 3 inches away from the exact spot where I sprayed it. I suppose the cheap price reflected performance and not fragrance quality. To say its performance is underwhelming would be a gross understatement
My fragrance nemesis is one I'm still stuck with - Gucci Guilty Love Edition pour homme. It's performance is miniscule, and the smell itself is nothing impressive. I don't care for germanium/sage fresh scents so that's another tally mark for me. I've gone through half of the 50ml bottle and let's just say I'm looking forward to finishing it

Bucephalus was Alexander the Great's horse.
I can say that i dont regret buying armaf bucephalus XI cuz i really like it,for me it’s a nice scent and funny is i get compliments and on top of that it lasts all day
Not for nothing but olfactory cells regenerate approx. every 60 days which might account for the reason why that to our nose fragrances change over time and not just maceration and evaporation. Just another reason to hang on to a bottle and try it a couple months later before chucking.
Bucephalus or Bucephalas was the horse of Alexander the Great, and one of the most famous horses of classical antiquity.
I regret buying Mugler Alien Man. Sounds cool and looks cool but that’s about it. Smells like a dill pickle, dill being one of notes, so I guess I had that coming. Also don’t care for the Robert Graham fragrances I blind bought, Fortitude and Valor. Fortitude gives me a headache. Smells like a ashtray. Valor is just boring. You can even throw in Ck One Shock and Valentino Born In Roma Coral Fantasy. Tobacco notes give me a headache. I do like the sickly sweet of Coral Fantasy though.

Mancera Black Vanilla has become my expensive air freshener. I totally agree with your take on it. Its sickening sweet vanilla from start to finish and thats all it is with nooooooo development. Seriously I turned it into an air freshener and even then a little goes a long way.
Any time I consider dipping my toes with Mancera and Montale I always see so many conflicting takes, they just seem like some of the most hit/miss risky blind buys to me.
@@Lemonpeppergoblin Those earlier Montales were the worst niche frags I've tested (no wonder samples by the handful were given a lot by the perfumery I was buying frequently around the early 2010's). Those aluminum bottles aren't too enticing either. 🤣

Well molecule 01 u can wear it with something else to boost up the performance
They both stink on their own. However, like Anouar said, they work well to layer with other perfumes.
I think theres a pill that can help with Bucephalus now
It wasn't too expensive, so I'm not angry about it or anything. But I still regret buying CDNI Pure Perfume. While it's okay when dried down, it's horrible at the beginning (and it's said to be better in that regard compared to the EDT/EDP) and not so great throughout. Also, tbh, I had to realize it just doesn't fit to me well. Very clubbing, very macho like. So I guess that's just more of a personal problem. But my brother likes it, so I gave the bottle to him. No problems there.
I regretted buying Paul Sebastian Design for Men(1995).I bought that fragrance thinking that everyone would love it.I wore it to church the first and only time. I was on the church van and I chocked my friend out.She coughed violently. I apologized for it and I never wore it again.I gave it away to my little cousin. This was in 1995.It was syrupy sweet. In 2014,I bought Tom Ford fragrance for $ 125.00 it was very weak.I was ticked off.I had never paid that much for a fragrance before. Huge mistake.
Man I have a lot of fragrance regrets. When I first got into fragrances I didn't have as much disposable income as I do now, and was all about those cheapies. now that i have a lot of niche and upper tier desinger frags, i can't stand most of the cheap ones. There r a few gems, but u usually get what u pay for.

I bought Herod. Very expensive. Very weak. Very... disappointed.
I kind of regret two. Not that they are bad necessarily, but they just aren't for me. First one: Dior Sauvage Parfum. While it smells ok, just didn't work for me The Eau de Parfum and Elixir are nice, and I went and bought the EDP, but the Parfum is just ok. Second is Prada L'homme. Again, not that it smells bad, but I don't really find myself reaching for it like I thought I would.
Complete opposite for me, they are two of my favourite fragrances😂 sorry you wasn't a massive fan of them
@@cropking Yeah, I mean, like I said they just aren't for me. I have a fairly small collection but it seems like, for me, the others just work so much better. I'm keeping the Prada L'Homme and hoping I come around on it. The Dior Sauvage Parfum I'm going to give to one of my sons if one of them wants it. I replaced that one with the EDP version which I really like. Glad you like them though!
Prada Lunna Rossa Carbon is better than Sauvage, imo. Might want to check it out. Smoother and more depth on clothes and in nose

I think Sauvage Parfum is one of the worst designer scents I have smelled…it reminds me of Robitusin…I love the other 3 concentrations of Sauvage but the Parfum is 👎
Tres Nuit Lyric and Club De Nuit Sillage. Better off just trading both those bottles in for a designer frag.
Penhaligons sports car club. New release. No fragrantica reviews. Harrods, smelled beautiful in the opening 30 mins. Parted with £150. After several wears the fragrance literally lasts 40 minutes and gone.

Dior Sauvage Elixir. I fell victim to the massive hype this fragrance is getting, totally overrated in my opinion. I really think there's a thousand much better fragrances out there.
Agreed. It's way too cloying for me. It's like a ridiculously strong smelling axe spray.

This is why I bought the clone by Lataffa called Asad and I really enjoy it! Not as ridiculously strong and quite wearable. If you guys wanna give that DNA another shot at at a MUCH cheaper price, I DO recommend it!
Dior sauvage and creed aventis I fell victim to both. And both are not really cheap fragrances.
Opposite to Nivea Man, Nivea EDT smells great although does not last long. I could wear it all day and all night since I got used to smell of after every shave when I use Nivea cream.

Oud for Greatness, bought out of curiosity. It makes me sick to wear. My toxic trait is thinking I can make sweeter saffron/Oud profiles work. I can’t.

For me Bois De Vetiver. I know some like it but all I got was old man vibes. Smelled like I was back in 6th grade and just got in my friends dads car lol
Afnan Royal Imperial London is the one that I regret buying. It definitely not mass appealing. EVERYTIME I wear it people say that it smells like " Raid" roach spray. 🤢🤮

A fragrance regret is ariana grande cloud, just way too strong and bit of a mess on my skin. Tried other clones of baccarat but simply not for me.

Creed Royal Mayfair, Escentric Molecule ‘Escentric 04’ & ‘Escentric 05’ 🤢 I don’t like sharp medicinal notes that smell astringent. Maybe passing by and smelling it in on someone else, or whiffs of it in the air are tolerable & might be nice tbh, but I couldn’t stand smelling it on myself

I have the Noble Oud body wash (TJMaxx for $5.00) which smells great. Having the body wash, I can't see in any way, how that would smell like Royal Oud. When the price on the fragrance comes down... maybe... I will invest in a bottle.

My biggest regret when it comes to perfumes I've ordered is moschino toy boy .. I really don't like it.. It's on the back of a shelf.. and I hope it gets better with time ..
For some reason I think they made you boy for layering! LOL. When I need a rose scent that is a beast in longevity, I bust out the toy boy. Try layering it underneath some things. You might be really surprised.

I had a bad experience with Dior savauge I don’t wanna say I don’t like it because when I brought it back when I was in high school it was a blind buy and through the bottle it smelt fantastic but once sprayed it smelt like a chemical mess someone please say if I should try buying it again or not

worst purchase i blind bought was boss the scent absolute... a lot like it but i just couldn't stand it and had a lot more cold weather scents that i enjoy wearing, knowing i would never really wear it i gave it away to a work colleague

CH Men Sport. Not only is that stuff disgusting to me, it's un-layer-able. I will usually take something that I don't wear and layer it with something else to improve on it and dull the parts that I don't like. But, with CH Men Sport, that super-sharp sourness perseveres no matter what and ruins any cologne it comes in contact with.
Summer Vibes by Authentic Perfumes is probably one of my biggest regrets. 🤢🤮

Amber Oud Gold Edition by Al Haramain, the fragrance I regret buying. It's too strong and too cloying even with just one spray.

My worst blind buy ever and biggest disappointment I'm sure many may disagree but for me was Azzaro the most wanted on my skin it smelled like a fruit basket mixed with candy topped off with bazooka bubble gum just awful luckily I got a full refund from Macys.
i like Bucephulus best out of all of the clones. The vanilla in there kicks it up a notch for me but not trying to buy it overpriced on ebay or shipped from India. :/

Yardley Gentleman Classic. I enjoy Yardley soap, I match them with my shave soap and aftershave. I was like, cool a cheap bottle I can wear around the house. Nope, it is so bad. It smells like medical strength disinfectant. Worst scent I own, including some ELDO that are intentionally artistic.
I regret it, nowadays, Le Beau. Jpg hit it out of the park with the bottle and I don't hate the scent at all, I just never have an occasion to actually wear it. If it was lime on top instead of bergamot, I could see me having a use for it, on the one or two beach parties I'd ever attend in my life. Again, I don't dislike it, I just never wear it.
Le Beau is a banger for Summer Nights, Girls love it and you will get a ton of compliments. Try it.
Kilian Dark Lord is a way better fresh (a bit, like, really a bit) leather than the PP (hehe) No Linit$ super fresh

I regret blind buying PDM pegasus, Dior Homme intense and Terre dHermes edt.. i cant stand the smell.. i occasionally spray it in the closet.. Dior homme intense remind me of my sociable grandma at night.. i love my granny her perfume is great for her but for me, oh noooo

Ugh...regrets...Sab'ha Wa Oud by Rihanna and Oud Vanille by Frank Olivier. Just terrible. Both are loud musky Rose Oud with Vanilla and stink. People like it but I fail to see why. Loud funk? Ain't nobody got time for that!!!

I regret buying F.malle dries van noten...too milky...also dans tres bas,smells like cats fur/sheeps wool and lastly opus 8 amouage...love it but too girly for a man,wear it in bedroom with my lovedoll but not outside..p,s joking on the doll part.
I wore azzaro wanted tonic last night at a restaurant. Sprayed about 15 sprays. ALL of the female workers in the back came up to my table while I was eating and wanted to know what I had on. I was also in a suit and tie as usual so that definitely helped to compliment the fragrance. Azzaro wanted tonic is a gem

Not a massive regret, but still on the fence with Guerlain L'Homme Ideal Extreme. I think I was hoping for more of the Almond and other notes I guess but on my skin I'm just not big on the opening, I just get the tobacco and plum until the drydown. I may still give it some more wears as it's colder and see if it grows on me, probably still give l'homme ideal edp a chance though.

@@AdrianVegaOfficial it smells like something only fit for a person aged 80 or older. Along with the others I named. Individuel, I have as well. It’s ok... Just smells like nice clean laundry and I rarely use it.
@@HollerAtcherBoi hmm interesting 🤔 i wonder if yours is a newer batch, i have the bottle made by lancaster which is no longer produced by them, I believe yours might be a coty made bottle. Could be a formula change, but the one i have doesn’t smell old, in fact i would say it’s probably immature scentwise and very potent, a little too much can be off putting but with 1 spray does just fine
