The list of flankers that’ve missed the mark is extensive. Doesn’t mean an obsessive completionist won’t still buy them to add to the collection though.
I believe the JPG le Male line has some stinkers as well. I distinctly remember reading reviews of le Beau Male going 'no human being will want to smell like this'
Almost all designer fragrances have some appeal. And the least commercially successful ones are often discounted heavily making them a decent value. Maybe not the sticky Azzaro, but overall. I spent most my 20’s rocking cheapies and making them work for me.
I disagree with the y eau fraîche, i think it is better than y live. I get complements with this one and it might be the best fresh cologne i have in my collection close to dior cologne
I think longevity of "sport" scents is intentional so you can spray it on, assuming you'll be showering in short order, and putting on something else later. You don't need "beast mode" for 4 hours. I wear John Varvatos Vintage to Christmas for 3 hours or so with the family. It's perfect for that. I think longevity isn't a universal intention though some of the fragrances I love most last on me all day long.
I get average longevity [6 hrs] & I pull compliments with Jimmy Choo Man Blue plus it has decent projection. In fact, I pull way more compliments than when I wear other blue scents such as VERSACE POUR HOMME DYLAN BLUE, Acqua Essenziale BLU by Salvatore Ferregamo, Polo Blue EDP by Ralph Lauren, & DAVIDOFF Cool Water Parfum. Please don't 💩 on Jimmy Choo Man Blue. It's a blue fragrance! Of course it will smell close to the other blue style of scents. There's so much a perfumer can do to design a blue fragrance in a way that stays in the blue category.
I knew as soon as I saw the title Wanted Tonic would be in here LOL. I don't get why Ash hates this frag so much. I like it and think it's a unique nice smelling freshie.
Stronger With You Only > Stronger With You Freeze imo. I like what they did with Only, the freshness shouldn’t work but it really does. The OG, Absolutely and Intensely are all better, but I’d take Only over Freeze any day. 🙌🏻
I blind bought The One Sport years ago from a discounter. First time I’d ever bought from a discounter and when I sprayed it on I was so disappointed. I thought it was a counterfeit because it was so weak. I didn’t hate the scent but the performance is absolute trash.
I have to agree on Y eau fraiche. I like the fragrance in my summer rotation, I just don’t reach for it much amongst other preferred lemon, fresh scents.
I’d love to hear your thoughts(Ash)on what EXACTLY fit into the criteria to count as one of the “flanker”brands..did they have to have to have at least 5 different flankers to the scent?..or maybe 3?..
It's not bad, a bit linear and smells like another fragrance from a different house, I don't remember which one. I agree though EDP and the EDT are better. I have yet to try Cool or Extreme. Intense is not my favorite.
Acqua di Gio Absolu is one that comes to mind for me personally.. now the craftsmanship is on point and it performs really well, but it's kind of generic and trendy for the line IMO.. it barely has that classic Acqua di Gio DNA, although the DNA definitely comes through as it dries down.. I can definitely understand why someone would like it though.. it's definitely not "bad" and there are far worse flankers out there, but this is the first one that currently came to my head..
One flanker is okay, more than that is a low-effort cash grab and confusing for normies. Just look at Acqua di Gio. Original and Profumo, anything else is not needed.

Another interesting video. Among tour list I’ve only sniffed Glacial Essence at the store, not bad but nothing memorable, then I grabbed Wood Neroli..
I would add spice bomb Night Vision edt as well
Tonic and Glacier Essence pulls massive comments for me 🤷🏽♂️
Many ppl love tonic especially if u can pick it up at a low price .....is it wanted by night absolutely not but horrible no way.

If you live in a hot and humid environment and your winter is not that cold, stronger with you only is the only wearable flanker from that line…
