It's my top secret gem as well. Last time I wore this at a wedding, someone's girl is scooting at me and we were talking like ear to ear. I didn't make anything out of it, but I guess it's the fragrance lol
Try „L’ Intense de blue“ Tuxedo Oud before, you pay 30 dollar and it smells 90% -95%same, oh i forgotten mention younger 200ml, you can thank me later😊👍🏾
Now you've nailed it, JC! Great topic and video! Quality vs Price Ratio is the name of the game, not giving in to hype and brands dictating unrealistic fragrance prices based on recognition and marketing. Pricing does not always equal quality in fragrances.
I started my fragrance journey with a blind haul of clones and as I began to try try the OG's there was no denying the higher quality which I enjoyed more. My collection is now 80% niche, but I still love the IDEA of a "clone." The reality is that any art that inspires will always be replicated, but if its not the original, I want scents that offer a new perspective on innovative DNA
I bought the massive sampler set from Niche4all (31 samples) and I am impressed. The inspirations are clear but there is also obvious skill applied in creating interesting variations on the originals. I love the variety of things they are jamming on. At least 10 of the samples were for scents I had no knowledge of. (Taklamakan, multiple Byredos, Astrakan) My favorites were Gypsy Water, Intoxicated and Astrakan on first sniff. I will admit some (8?) of the samples were very much NOT for me. But thats a good thing and a hallmark of artistry. I cut down the 31 to about 12 candidates for full bottles. Will start working through that list a few bottles at a time. Definitely worth checking out.
Perfumers most often create alternatives to their most successful fragrances. Usually those alternatives are cheaper. An example might be Angel’s Share by Kilian and Zara Sand Desert at Sunset both created by Benoist Lapouza. Great topic🙂
Love this, glad you had Bucheron on your radar, I use the pour homme EDP and EDT as a daily office scent. They are fresh citrusy, with amber spices and woods (more in the EDP) that creates a fantastic aura on he dry down, they also perform very well.
The ones that I own : Bois Impérial : simply amazing floral woody. perfect for spring and summer and it lasts. Bleu de Chanel EDT : exceptional scent especially because of that bitter grapefruit mixed with woody notes. not cheap but worth it. Xerjoff Naxos : Just pulled the trigger for it on Black Friday. amazing scent. That honey and tobacco mix... love it YSL Tuxedo : Bought it last spring (discounted), Very classy. worth every penny. Never had the chance to smell Moustache though
Love Day Three! I've picked up bottles of La Tacita and Ambar Dominicano in the last 2 months and will probably pick up a bottle of Filosofia if I catch one of the old bottles selling for the right price. SO GOOD. A friend referred to Ambar Dominicano as Grand Soir's much more fun cousin, and I agree with that 100%.
Day Three has a well-priced discovery set. I highly recommend it. As it turns out, while I appreciated what they do, none spoke to me enough to pull the trigger on a full bottle. But I'm glad I got my nose on them.
Hi Justin, cool video. I just wanted to tell you that I think it is great that you are being precise and honest in your Videos. I think you put a great perspective on spending money and expectations towards perfumery. Not only because of you, but in General I really think honesty is what our Media lacks. Therefore, being honest might not contribute to your success necessarily. I Hope the Route you just pays off for you. It really is well deserved. So good luck and off to a good 2025
Lune Feline is absolutely Beautiful. I’d buy it from a discounter in a second. But the gold flakes is a problem for me. Don’t want glitter on my clothes or my skin.
An alternative to Layton is L'Arc Evasion... you should try it. Amazing fragrance, most similar to Lalique White in Black, which is a inspiration from Layton (not a 100% dupe) but niche quality and great performance... and just little bit more sweet!
Burberry London - of course it's completely different but could be used as an alternative to Herod, Tobacco Vanille or Spicebomb Extreme. I kind of rediscovered it last fall. I have a little 30ml bottle which I got extremely cheap but it aged beatifully, getting much longer lasting and perhaps even deeper. Moustache is a great scent, very, very similar to Tuxedo in my opinion. I had problems with its performance at first but it got much better as well. Good list, I have to try Niche 4 All. Luckily, they're from EU. Cheers!
Haven’t watched anything but the intro to the video yet, but I do know that clone fragrances have a way better value tag than almost all niche or designer house fragrances. Is the quality or smell always 1:1 or even, no, but the value comparison is always better. Have I spent more on some niche bottles because I think they smell marginally better and make me feel good, yes, but some of my favorites are still clones. I get some oils may have a higher quality and therefore price tag, however this isn’t representative to the overall experience compared to cheaper clone fragrances. I know some of them smell not the greatest, but I don’t usually think that’s from oil quality, but rather formulation. I’m not talking about the fragrances you covered at all, I’ve only seen the thumbnail and own Moustache EDP and love it; it’s in my top 10 fragrances I own. Overall, I just think that niche and designer houses charge way too much for what they are producing and the market agrees that that is the case. If there wasn’t such a price discrepancy I could understand arguments about buying niche, but I just can’t justify that for nearly all fragrances. I am now off my soap box, but I just feel it needs to be said that the price tag and name tricks people’s minds into believing things that are seemingly untrue.
I bought Moustache hoping I would get the same experience as Tuxedo (which I previously sampled and loved). Tried to like it for a year but eventually tossed the bottle in the garbage bc there is something that I just could not tolerate.
My wife loves Ganymede on me. I am absolutely done with it after half an hour of wear unfortunately :') there is something that rubs me the wrong way but I can't put my finger to it, might be the immortelle.
I don’t know your opinion of Dossier scents, yes they are “clones” but they claim to be inspired by, so in essence, really going for the dna but not trying to be perfect. They do not smell cheap in my opinion, their Tom Ford inspired scents smell terrific. They are more expensive than clones. They are priced from about $30 to $50 for 1.7 Oz. But I find them on sales on occasion for much better prices.
I love the YSL tuxedo dna but it’s to heavy to wear as casually as I would want. Rochas mustache scratches that itch for me and lets me get the vibe of tuxedo without the heavy feeling. In my opinion it definitely leans inspiration of Tuxedo but more of a sport flanker than a clone.
That Niche4All's Vanilla Oud alternative to Layton sounds interesting as I find Layton to have a VICKS® VapoRub smell to it that makes it a bit off-putting to me
absolutely agree ... i only blind bought few clones back in 2017, 2019 and recently ... almost 95% of them were disappointing!! the quality is almost always low
Missoni Parfum Pour Homme is very much like Bleu de Chanel EDP. A better Tuxedo clone is Divain 678. I have Tuxedo-Moustache & Divain. At first I didn't get the similaraties between Tuxedo and Moustache. I do get it now, a bit. But I cannot tell Tuxedo apart from Divain, which costed around 20 €/100 ML. And that with a nice bottle. Must admit Moustache is a beautiful bottle too.
I only have two clones. One is of a fragrance that's been discontinued for awhile. I have no idea how close it is to what it's cloning, I just know I like it for what it is. The other is for a really expensive frag I couldn't get a sample of. So I went with the clone, and I enjoy that one as well, even though, again, I have no idea how close it is to what it's cloning.
Short Story, I got a 7$ dupe of bdc, ard al zaafaran dar al hub, it macerated for about 1 year bcs I forgot about it. One day, I was going to the airport and used it,like 6 sprays,1 on my hand especially to do a 1 1 with bdc. Went to the duty free, tried the bdc,the normal, the eau the parfum and the parfum, for about 20 minutes after comparing them with the dupe on my left hand, i thought they are fakes. Repeated the test when I came back home, in Sephora. Same results. I have a 7$ dupe with a better performance and projection, not as smooth and complex as bdc parfum but it's not trying to be. That was the moment I decided I'm completely done with spending 170$ on crap designer fragrances.
I used to buy OGs only for perfumes and makeup, but after trying many cheaper interpretations and discovering that many have better quality and last longer, i don't understand how can the expensive brands (in many if not most cases) justify the ridiculous high prices. I stopped buying expensive makeup and from perfumes i buy the OG when i think it's worth it.
I didn’t get it from a discounter. But I’ve seen it pop up on Jomashop, I linked it in the description of this video but not sure if it’s still available.
I am a rock girl polished or unpolished . Ganymede smells like wet slate to me, I like it. It was a HELL no to M. Tiger to him ir smelled like a blown electrical circuit.
Got unsolicited compliment from Layton last week. She said "you smell really really good!". Like what you like and don't what you don't, for me without compliments I love everything about Layton
You’re right-the original Moustache predates Tuxedo by several decades. However, this 2018 EDP version of it is a complete departure from the original (it’s closer to an aromatic profile like Dior Eau Sauvage), and Tuxedo came out in 2015. So some folks might say Rochas took after Tuxedo…but I just say it’s a coincidence.
Clones are amazing. I mean perfumers can probably tell you're not wearing the real thing, But 99% won't. Now no clone is going to be the same side to side but who's going to have a sample card of the real thing. Is true there are some awful clone scents. Just like you'll think some really expensive fragrance is garbage. I mean to each it's own but I can't be happier with the clones I've bought.
6:30 no hate for the product itself, but the Niche for All logo looks way too much like the 4C logo. First time I saw it, I legit thought it was one of those bizarre publicity colabs like the KFC perfume.

I want people to know about moustache, but at the same time I don’t want people to know about moustache
8 in 10 ppl do not wear fragrances so even if it is "known" it will still be _unknown_
I believe you mean 8 in 10 people 'do not ' wear fragrances...!
It's my top secret gem as well. Last time I wore this at a wedding, someone's girl is scooting at me and we were talking like ear to ear. I didn't make anything out of it, but I guess it's the fragrance lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You're not alone, I understand your feelings... 🫂
I smelled Tuxedo for the first time over the weekend and my goodness, I get it. I get it now. Currently saving up for it.
Did you ever smell moustache?
Tuxedo is way overrated, just a boring fragrance. If you like it go for Moustache.
@@DonMascarponI haven’t! I was thinking about getting a bottle of that first

@@tonnykeizer4732 Disagree. It's superb for it's price. Another clone that's also incredible is Rifaqaat Adorn. A cedar heavy twist.

Bro, you make my day. I apreciate this video a lot. Thank you man,
Thanks for watching!
Big fan of Day Three Fragrances. I love the way they interact with the air around me without being as "in your face."
Great to see that the alternative to Ganymede is Bois Imperial. Only you can explain it clear enough that theyre not 1:1 substitute but rather cousins
The ones that I own :
Bois Impérial : simply amazing floral woody. perfect for spring and summer and it lasts.
Bleu de Chanel EDT : exceptional scent especially because of that bitter grapefruit mixed with woody notes. not cheap but worth it.
Xerjoff Naxos : Just pulled the trigger for it on Black Friday. amazing scent. That honey and tobacco mix... love it
YSL Tuxedo : Bought it last spring (discounted), Very classy. worth every penny. Never had the chance to smell Moustache though

Every guy must have Tuxedo in his collection. It's a timeless masterpiece.
Singulier is just good all on its own.
It has about of brightness and it is my main gym bag fragrance.
Best low cost blue out there!

Best quality per dollar was atelier des ors lune feline. I still can't believe how good it is and it's relatively cheap imo.
Lune Feline is absolutely Beautiful. I’d buy it from a discounter in a second. But the gold flakes is a problem for me. Don’t want glitter on my clothes or my skin.
@Cornelle6319 I've never noticed any, they won't go through the atomizer. Don't let that stop you!
I agree with you 100% on Moustache. Phenomenal fragrance. Try Arcadia from Parades de sens, very close to Tuxedo & top notch quality for much less.
Loewe 7 cobalt is my favorite bdc upgrade/alternative. It's awesome and lasts over 10 hours on me.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🎉🎉🎉

I like a few Mancera fragrances, and I think the prices for them are pretty decent.

Hey Justin, thanks for giving us your thoughts on these scents! My question to you… with Ganymede, does it matter if it’s EDP or Extrait?
I prefer the EDP!
I bought Moustache hoping I would get the same experience as Tuxedo (which I previously sampled and loved). Tried to like it for a year but eventually tossed the bottle in the garbage bc there is something that I just could not tolerate.
I can live with approximations. I also love more muted or feminine interpretations ❤

Moustache is a legitimate beautiful scent.

@stayfreshproductions thanks broski
Layton without the vapor rub would be amazing lol. It's unwearable with geranium in it.

I bought Moustache from Jomashop a few weeks ago for $20 😁
That was cheap😢
