Hello Bob&Brad. I’ve been suffering from bad sciatica pain for the past week, and watching your videos fixed me and saved me a trip to the Doctor. You similarly helped me two years ago with chronic shoulder pain which I thought would be the end of my sports activities. Now I’m fully active again in gym and tennis. I spend time everyday watching your content anywhere, and enjoy the learning. Thank you sincerely, for your generosity and time helping me and others feel better physically. An honest patient.
God bless you guys. I had moderate, constant, irritating sciatica pain 3 years ago. I started doing the back stretch you demonstrated along with the “sciatica floss”. After 3 months, all my pain was gone! Bob and Brad, you are awesome! Thank you for being the best physical therapists on the internet!

Found this video last night. I don't have a wedge but my bed raises on the head I did it for 5 minutes. I thank God Almighty for you guys. I will be doing it everyday 2-3 times. God bless and love to all.
So funny/sad! For all my sciatica years I wouldn't do anything involving arching my back as I thought it would set it off. In the 90's my GP told me to keep a block or stool under the table and always have my feet up on it. When bed ridden I would pull my knees up just like this (felt good at the time!). This cobra position has enabled me to go to work, to stand upright, to carry a coffee cup, brush my teeth. It truly is amazing and I thank you so much. I've been to chiropractors, to different complementary medicine practitioners and had never been told this before :(
Thank you so much for this! I damaged the entire back of my leg, my butt and even my lower back doing deadlifts. Ive been suffering for 3 months with this pain and by doing this exercise, the pain is now 90% gone.
@@hendrikkleyn8571 I felt extreme pain in my buttocks and hamstrings. At the beginning of the symptoms, I felt a sensation like I wanted to defecate in my rectum. Over time it became intense pain in my buttocks and hamstrings. If I sneeze, cough or vomit, my buttocks and hamstrings really hurt. I don't know if I have piriformis, sciatica or herniated discs. I have gone to the doctor and physiotherapist but it only makes my pain worse. I felt the doctor who treated me was less experienced. Several friends advised me to do an MRI but because I don't have the funds for that (because I have to support my 3 year old child), I wanted to find out which syndrome I was experiencing via RUclips. I can't stand for long, I often have difficulty sitting and I have to lie down in bed all the time while my child is very active and still needs me all the time. I also have to work making cakes to sell to support my family. But now I can't do anything because of my illness. I hope that through friends on RUclips I can get instructions and how to overcome my problem, what exercises I should do so that I can recover quickly.

I perform that cobra press-up exercise for about 5 to 10 minutes any time I spend a lot of time bent over doing yardwork or at the end of a long day of sitting. It really helps to stretch your back in the opposite direction that we tend to spend so much of our time bent over in.
I used your protocol several years ago when I had sciatica. It worked within a few days and I was so thankful I had found your videos. I now use the primary exercise periodically whenever I begin to feel some lower back pain (not sciatica since this hasn't recurred). It clears it up almost immediately. This has been so helpful. @Wubba Wubba If youre adopting the routines like what Bob and Brad talk about, you have to temper that with some kind of strength training. Also research the nature of fascia tissue.
I had some pain in legs early morning upon waking. I tried this and it's gone! Also I was trying for a while to crack my low back but in the winter it wouldn't do it. After doing this I was just sitting in the chair and it just cracked on its own. Amazing.
Another awesome video. I get bilateral sciatica pain. Very similar to what your showing, I just use my kitchen counter top. What is the name of the book?
It’s nearly always calcifications along the nerve path or integrating around the transverse processes of the vertebrae or lateral border of the sacrum or the posterior surface of the sacrum. Sometimes it’s a mixture of all of these. In people who wear tight belts or those stupid wetsuit type workout clothes you will feel belt line calcifications from garment contact. You need to just destroy these deposits with cross fiber friction techniques. The only other major variation is a tight piraformis causing mineralized tissue at the intersection of the nerve. Or if they are of the unlucky bunch to have the sciatic nerve go through the piraformis it can just be a shortening and tightening of the muscle. Then just use pin and stretch techniques.
The pain reduction from lying prone with the back arched up comes from this position giving the nerve more length inside the body. The up and down motion is actually plausible to help because it could possibly break the mineralized tissue up that is on the nerve but could obviously aggravate any mineral buildup getting pinched between the vertebrae and the transverse processes of the vertebrae.
A lot of times you need to push the inflammation out in order to palpate where the mineralized tissue is. What I use is river rocks of various sizes that are refrigerated that I just place over areas of local swelling. This is a common sense very basic approach that is always successful at treating sciatica.
What if I have spondyliosys and herniated disc which is causing sciatica?
With this specific diagnosis, this video does not apply. Good Question. Brad
