    This is my DIY minivan conversion build. I have a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivan that I've outfitted for camping trips. I have stand-alone videos for most of the features in the van. Just click here for my channel page: / @minivancampergal1554

    Welcome to Minivan Camper Gal! I'm Kelly and I camp and travel in a Chrysler Pacifica Minivan, doing part-time van life. Here you will find van build videos, tips on the digital nomad lifestyle, general travel vlog videos, and more. I'm into minimalism, and I eat a mostly plant-based vegan diet. I'm still learning how to do vegan vanlife well! I have some great vegan camping recipes to share with you, but would love some suggestions, too! Sometimes I stealth camp in the city, but mostly I like to boondock. Join me and my camper van as we embark on all the car camping adventures!

      Same! If I had $40k I would just buy a small land and build a cabin on it. There are people who want luxury weekend trip in their wans, but for me I need a safe place and a roof over my head. Just a place to live and be independent. Renting apartments is so expensive, it would consume 80% of an average salary... People just need homes, where you can live, relax, eat, sleep. That's all.

    Awesome set up ! I am still building mine ... I like all the clean workable space .. it's obvious you also put a lot of thought into the space you have .. that really shows ! I have half that much space .. so minimalism has been on my mind as you can imagine ... My roof top lifts up like wedge hinged in the front .. I so admire the space you have & the way you have selected to use it ! My tiny 4x4 Suzuki custom Samurai looks like a tiny replica of 1940's military ambulance no rear doors .. drivers seat only ...there's no room for another person ... but my small Chihuahua & I are looking forward to getting out there ... we both are staying in our old Chevy van box truck RV until I get our home on wheels completed .. Thank you for sharing your set up !

    I really like your van build. You have thought of everything! I think I have watched 100s of van tour ( large and small) and I still came away with 2 or 3 more things from yours. I like the way you used your clothes hanger and the floor storage is awesome. I have those flexible water containers too. That is an awesome way to store your water. I now have soooo many items (but no van 😢) YET. I bought way too much stuff. I am also leaning towards a Chrysler Pacifica even before I learned about the driver seat in this video. That is just icing on the cake. Thanks for sharing your great ideas with us. 🥰

    I think with the right clothing fabrics its so much easier to travel and pack keeping weight and keep it simple. I did this on a 9 day train trip and being able to wash certain clothing items when we had a couple nites in one place. Not to mention the extra comfort level. I could have even packed half of the suitcase. Another great item was packing cubes and a nylon laundry bag to keep things organized. Nice job on the van. I would love to do this some day!

    Why do you have a generator? I didn’t see anything that needs power. And where do you keep your clothing and toiletries? Do you have a first aid kit? I assume you are vegan since you have no cold storage of any kind? And why do you have batteries?

    • @minivancampergal1554
      @minivancampergal1554  Год назад

      Hey Ginger! Great questions. I have a generator mostly just for emergencies, for charging my batteries. But, I’m changing my power setup, so I haven’t been bringing it with me lately. I just have a small toiletry bag that goes on the shelf. I have a packing cube with a few clothes that I throw in the back. I have a first aid kit in the orange bags under the floor. Yes, I’m vegan, but I’m working on a cold storage solution. My batteries run my computer, phone, diesel heater, starlink, lights, filming equipment, etc. Thanks for watching!

    • @gingermcintosh6545
      @gingermcintosh6545 Год назад

      @@minivancampergal1554 aahh. Diesel heater. StarLink. Now I get it. You need a small 12 v fridge. I have an 18 qt in my car and life it, but I could have gone even smaller. I carry meds that must be cold so I have to have one. It doesn’t use that much power; about 50 watts when the compressor is running, which isn’t that often. Especially if it has a cover or you can put a quilt around it. And keep in shade.

    Hi. At about 6:00 minutes into the video, you slide the drivers seat all to the front, also inclining it forward.
    I would like to know how it works and if you did use special parts, if you could name them.
    And looked at your home page and couldn't find it.
    Thanks a lot 👍👍

    Nice build. I am curious, how wide is your couch/bed. I am under 5' and I am thinking I could lay across the couch for a bed. Thereby saving the back of the van for some other use.

      I have a Chrysler Voyager van, and it has quite the slope also. My other van had a pretty level floor, so I am quite bummed. Did not notice the floor until all the seats were stowed down into the floor.. oh well....

    I have to admit minivans are the best value for Van life. As a weekend warrior, I travel around in a two-door Bronco and love it. My next vehicle is definitely going to be a minivan instead of those big bulky Sprinter vans or Dodge Masters

    • @minivancampergal1554
      @minivancampergal1554  Год назад +1

      I’m so glad I didn’t go with a Sprinter. If you can be comfortable with not standing, the minivan gives you SO many other options. If I were living in it, maybe it would be different, but I’ve spent 50 nights in a row inside, and I love it

  • @stevenbae8976
    @stevenbae8976 Месяц назад

    idk if you’re one to respond to comments or not but i’m gonna ask my question anyways:
    you said you’re happy choosing the mini van over the sprinter….does not being able to fully stand inside the van affect you or make you wish you went with the sprinter? i noticed this video came out over a year ago so over time, did you maybe get bothered by it?

    • @minivancampergal1554
      @minivancampergal1554  Месяц назад

      Hey Steven. For me, I didn't mind the low height, even after many trips. However, my partner who is older than me, and my mother had a really hard time getting in and out, and were fairly uncomfortable. So, I think it's really dependent upon your physical flexibility - if you can you be comfortable bending and twisting yourself around.
