@@AbsoluteHuman I first misread is as "constipations", but it actually also makes sense in this case. And yes, his level of inefficiency is truly impressive...
belts can automatically go over other belts without changing levels. changing levels is mostly to go over other buildings. matrix labs and storage are the only thing i know that stack. matrix lab will feed all upper labs as long as the lower one has input storages will start to fill all upper storages after the first one is full, you dont need to change belt level. buildings can eat items from 3 tiles away, (sorter length) idk if you played factorio but instead of feeding belts in directly, you can collect output items in a line and then feed them to the machines in order, so overflow works out. this also means you can just have 1 belt and snake it around.
Just 3 small tips that triggers me as a DSP player: -Direct feeding with sorter from machine to machine (no need to put belts in between) - you can pile storage boxes/labs and only feed the whole pile from the lowest one’s, it will automatically distribute rss to the entire pile - Shift + R to rotate miners freely: you want each of them to be on at least 6 veins and 2 miners per belt is the ratio Enjoy😉
Given I just started playing this will be very useful, thank you. Any other tips if you don’t mind me asking? While I had the direct feeding and piling, the amount of miners and belts is very useful
as a DSP player who has stopped just before building an actual dyson sphere every time i play, i never new the direct feeding trick! that's good to know.
best tip is to try thing by yourself ! Do a map on which your purpose isn't really to finish the game but more to understqnd things ( for example for red science you can achieve perfect ratio just from oil and 18 rafineries, it is a good exercice) ! Trying is the best way of learning and you will feel a lot of pleasure to discover things by yourself ! Other than that I would say: - Think bigger, you factory consuption will always be more than your think - Take a lot of space, its easier to walk a bit longer in the begining than rebuild the whole factory cause you can fitthe new recipoe lol - power generator is the best way to produce consistant power, turm coal into graphite (use spray on graphite), if I remember correctly its 8 miners (4 full belts) into 12 graphite assembly (2 full lines) into 30 power generator - use a dyson swarm to power your fisrt titanium outpost on 2nd planet (easier and faster) - Once you get to planetary/interplanetary transportation, its pretty straight foward you can do dedicated planets for dedicated rss/assembly But more importantly, never forget fellow engineer, just as in Factorio, the factory must grow ! @@daemonlordmagnusthered6213
@alexandreclement8885 While I did learn the game completely on my own, every time I realized I was doing smh in a convoluted way, I just felt stupid rather than pleased. People do things in different ways, and want to achieve different things in the game. In my current play through I didn't bother with the swarm altogether, I took my time to make sure my production is in order and scalable on the same conveyor belts with no rebuilding. By the time I launched the first sail, my tech tree was complete, and I had a very strong production on multiple planets. All running on deuterium cells until I had my first shell up. All because my goal is to see how much power I can generate with every star in a 10 O-type system having a compete sphere.
I've been playing DSP since day 2 of early access. Whenever I start it, I lose all meaning of time and then a new dyson sphere pops up.... and my roommate informs me i haven't moved in 2-4 days. I love this game, but its so addictive.
YESS!!!!! This needs to become its own series. One of my all-time favorite games played by the best engineering youtube. This needs to be a full series!!!
If you plan to play more of this, build the conveyor go next to the facilities and have the grabber take the items off the belt as they go by. That way you can chain multiple factories or smelters using only one belt.
i hope you enjoy this, i find it very hard to keep the whole simulation in my mind and so get pretty distracted, but its very satisfying to see things come together.
this update is so hard to adapt when you don't even have knowledge from youtube, i almost died at the first attack wave cause i was chillin in my brain and even if i was speedrunning the reasearches, i didn't even build a single turret 🤣🤣🤣
ok so 1 great video RCE but also Have you heard of Solar belts? all you need is a pavement factory to pave a belt around the equator line wide enough for 5 to solar panels to wrap around the world as tight together as possible. once done this belt will have constant power & will provide full power to everything you can build on a single planet to exploit all its resources.
OH MY GOD! I've played this game for more than a hundred hours and I just realized that you can just fuel the icarus early game with coal.... The comments are roasting you, but remember that one of the biggest sources of progression fun in these games is making better and more effective designs as you learn to understand the game. If you did it perfectly and flawlessly the first time, you would miss out on what's arguably one of the most fun parts of factory games. So embrace the mistakes and enjoy the sweet sensation of learning a new mechanic and trick and the satisfaction of the neatness and efficiency (and ironically, simplicity) of your new designs compared to the old ones. This is the journey that everyone who is now giving you tips went through - and most of them learned from videos and comments on them with the community in turn. The learning is an essemtoaö part of the fun.
Also, you can pass the belt of ammo through the turrets, or build the turrets on top of a belt, no splitting necessary! :D I'm still early in the update myself due to lack of time, but I get the impression the defenses are not so much strong as that the game is just introducing us to the concept of enemies and that we should build defenses against them at all. We'll see how the devs update it, it's certainly more forgiving than Factorio.
The thumbnail says: "Biblically Accurate Dyson Sphere" RCE in-game: "Oh, wait, you need to refine copper ore before making it into bullets? 🤔 Huh, news to me." It's a good thing for everyone that Matt decided to go into Civil Engineering instead of one of the fields where things are more at risk of exploding, like chemical engineering or large-scale electrical engineering.

If you hold shift while placing buildings, they don’t snap to grid. If you hold shift while trying to rotate a building, it will slowly spin so you can place it at an odd angle. I only do this with mines, as the grid is useful for everything else...
You don't need to do research with the cubes in your inventory! If you just untick "Use items in inventory" it will take it directly from your matrix producers :)
sadly you are wrong, the blue cubes producers don't reasearch directly, you need other labs to have the option "reasearch" and give them cubes to auto reasearch
You only need one input to a stacked storage, it will automatically fill the top storage when the bottom fills. You should build another matrix lab as research and have the blue cubes go directly into it. You can free place miners instead of being snapped to cover more veins at once. You can put one sorter between 2 machines you don't need a small bit of conveyor either
This is an awesome game... and conveyor belts are guaranteed to be spaghetti no matter how much planning you do... but I'm not sure how I feel about the added enemy presence. More of this please... and your editors are brilliant.
you can stack your matrix labs up to 3 high before you even research vertical construction, and they don't just produce your matrices - you can set them to research to have them consume matrices for automated research
