The middle step (it's 3rd from top or bottom however you count) puzzles me. Its vertical rise (the one closest to the right vanishing point) doesn't reach to the top vanishing point's guideline. All the other corners hit the guidelines but that one.
Hi Lineke :) that was fascinating, I love the way you explain so clearly, I learnt a lot from watching this! Stairs in perspective are tricky to draw, this tutorial is very very helpful!!! Thank you :) btw, my Koh-i-noor pencil erasers arrived today...they are superb and work great, definitely better than what I have been using:) thank you for telling me about these! take care my friend:)
Hey Smoothie! Thank you so much on this big compliment and, of course you are very welcome. ;) * About the eraser pencils: I tried out quite a few but the cheap Koh's really stand out. These should be a great help for your exquisite and detailed drawings (still envy your patience hehehehe...) and I am sure these will show up in a tut ^.^ one day. - Lineke
Great tutorial, I don't know if Im incorrect here but it seems your third step finishes a bit short. All of the other steps come up to your second helper line from your third perspective point but your third one is under it. Am I incorrect or should the vertical line have touched the helper line?
Thank you Shamoo and that is correct. I had to make it shorter for people to be able to see in the video but you can make the thirth dissapearing point farther away ;)
I saw that - thanks for bringing it up. I ran the video several times. Then I read Lineke's answer to you - but I don't think that would work. At eye level, you have to draw the vertical to the top of the stair - which isn't at the helper line. That's the step that breaks the rules. I tried doing it with the vertical touching the helper line & it distorts everything.
Thank you so much Muhammad and you are very welcome ^^ I will look into drawing spiral staircases, this is very difficult and I hope I will make a tutorial out of it All the love - Lineke
This was indeed very helpful
All other videos did not show the actual distance between the stairs. They just measured it equally
Thank you for the big compliment Udita! 🤗
Really great tutorial
Thanks for your tutorials. I love to see more perspectives drawing please. This's great.
Can be done Artist!! And thank you so much ^.^
Very clear explanation! I'm glad to watch this kind of videos
Thank you for this compliment María!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Super helpful! Best wishes!

Thanks a lot 🙏🍃🍃
I didn't realize that there was so much work in doing a perfect staircase, but now I know. Thank You.
^.^ You are very welcome Douglas!

There’s ominous music in the background cause clearly it takes some dark magic to draw stairs

I'm using a canvas want to know how to draw the stairs.?
In that case you could best use charcoal
Excellent - but I can do without background music.
Thank you Gothamette!
You're welcome. I really don't mean to be critical - the video has helped me. I just have to repeat it 50 times.
