Just bought the OMP M2 Evo and I dont have a spare reciever yet, Painless 360 to the rescue again in helping setup just using OMP protocol, not explained by anyone else. Thanks again
Thanks man! I received my M2 yesterday and struggled with configuring it with my TX16s until I found your video. You are the only person who addressed how to configure the M2 with the built in OMP receiver. Excellent information!
I want to thank you for helping me set up my OMP M2. I spent a half a day trying to set it up. Because of your awesome set up tutorial I'm up and flying. Please keep the coming 😊
As usual, a clear explanation of how to use the OMP Protocol. I initially set up my OMP2 Explorer using the native protocol with my Horus X12S. I didn't find the set up process intuitive. I subsequently changed to SFHSS because I'm more familiar with the tuning possibilities using that protocol in OpenTX.
Hi Lee Great video and review of the OMPHeli M2, this is the heli I have been wanting for the last two years. I have been told that it's one of the best Helis to date. Thanks again for the video and information
Hi Lee, hope you are well. Great video, this appears much simpler than the downloaded file from OMP that has logical switches coming out of its ears, and for the life of me I cannot decifer it. This looks much easier with no curves. I have an M1 Evo, will these settings work with that. Thanks in advance. Paul 👻
If still apply the pitch curve into the setting, what is the result ? And, is the OMP protocol suitable for beginners to practice hovering and further their 3D learning?
Not sure I understand the questions. ruclips.net/video/-SSMPYR0mO0/видео.html covers what a throttle and pitch curve does. The OMPHobby protocol on the MPM doesn't affect how easy (or hard) a model is to fly, it is simply how the radio communicates with the model.. I hope that helps.
Hi Lee, Thanks for the great content. Dumb question incoming - On the Radiomaster TX16S, did you have to buy an external module for the multi protocol? Or does it just come with it? I'm using the original Taranis X9D plus, with the latest update. But I'm being told I'll have to buy an external module, in order to use the multi protocol. I opted to use a receiver instead of just binding to M2's flight controller. Thanks again
The 4in1 multiprotocol module is all fitted inside the radio so you can add extra things like ExpressLRS or Crossfire into the JR bay at the rear. See my videos on it.. best of luck
Hi, thank you for getting back to me so quickly, I have followed your advise and watched the video, confused as there is more information than I could follow as the new Edge TX comes with an OMP widget already installed, am I supposed to copy and create this model, I think as I said a lot of the help out there is related to previous versions of edge TX
Hi Lee - thanks for a very informative video! I just got my TX16S 4-1from a local retailer here in Norway and it comes with EU LBT firmware, which seems to limit the number of protocols available in the MPM module. The OMP protocol is not among those few that are listed. Any ideas on how to get access to the OMP protocol on my radio?
@@Painless360 I have a TX16S MKII with EdgeTX 2.9.3 and internal MULTI module 1.3.3.24. Radiomaster's web site states that the 4in1 LBT Version (Europe) is limited to LBT compliant protocols FrSKY X/X2 LBT, HoTT LBT and DSMX. Any advice on how to enable the OMP protocol is much appreciated!
@@larspettereliassen8410 and @Painless360 I did do the same, all the protocols showed up in the menue, but only a littel number of protocols is usable. When switching off the radio and switching it on again, I get only a reduced list of protocols including: BayanRX, DSM, DSM_RX, FS2A_RX, FrSkyRX, FrSky X, DrSkyX2, HoTT. I cannot use the OMP Procotol. I use MPM firmware 1.3.4.0. Any ideas how I can get hans on the OMP Protocol while in LBT? Did it really work for you, larspettereliassen8410? I use the TX16 S firmware 2.8.4.
Thanks Lee, nice and clear. Only recently set mine up the only difference being I did the throttle cut as an override special function but as always with EdgeTX there's usually more than one way to do these things. Also I noticed you had throttle cut at low stick, is that something you added? I did the same but had to use a logical switch.
I have mine set so that the throttle is live only when the throttle switch is in the middle position. Makes it easy to kill it if things go wrong... Happy flying
Hi, love your vids, I just picked up an M2 and a TX16s, I've swapped it to mode 1, what settings do you think I need to look out for when setting it up? As Mode one is it still ok as AETR when its kind of ATER I appreciate your help Cheers Simon New Zealand
Question: is not longer the case that if you bind using OMP's protocol that you cannot apply your own curves (meaning, the FBL unit's internal curves and mixes override anything you do)?
Mixing is done inside the flybarless unit. This is so that simple radios can be used. If using an external reciever you can change the curves and mode behaviour. Happy flying!
Hello thanks for your videos I have learned a lot from watching them I have a question I have bought an omhobby m2 evo rtf with a radio master zorro and now I have bought an omhobby m2 evo bnf so my question is how do I set it up and tie the one with Muli protocol for my radio master so I have two profiles on it thanks in advance
@@Painless360 one helicopter is satup on my radiomaster zorro so I can fly with it, but I have bought a bnf omphobby m2 evo which I would also like to have on my radiomaster zorro
I see. I'd copy the model and setup the copy with the new receiver. Otherwise you'll end up trying to keep track of the setups for the Rx's in the model settings.
Hi, I have been watching your channel for a while now, very intersting, is it possible for you to do a video with the new Radiomaster TX16s Mk2 using the latest EdgeTX and the OMP Hobby M1\2 using the OMP system, I have just received both, I have setup other helicopters using Spektrums, but never used edgeTX, all of the RUclips seems old and use open TX, again, never used these systems, any help please?
Help please! I got a new MK2 tx16s running edgetx and omp protocol not showing frequency fine tune.before that I was using opentx and a reg xt16s.and had frequency fine tune
Fine tune is not available on all of the protocols and depends on which chip is being used to generate the protocol you are using. I wouldn't worry if it isn't there. If it was, then I'd use it. Best of luck
Yes, I have 3 Omps (M1, M2, M3) all bound to the same t6. Once they are bound, you just connect them like normal without having to do any model switching.
If you still monitor this video and fly your M2 I had one question. I was gifted an OMP M2 Explore. My TX16s has EdgeTx 2.9.1 presently and as such shows the MIXES and other windows differently. My question is, "How did you get 3 positions programed in your CH 6 - MIXES ? You did not click INTO that channel to show the 'workings' and it seems to show on top as only 100% on Sw SE. How did you put -100% on Sw SEfwd for normal, 0% on Sw SE- for IdleUp1, +100% on Sw SEback for idleUp2 ? ON EdgeTX 2.9.1 I used 3 separate mixes on CH 6, one for each weight and Switch position and was just curious how you did it with just ONE mix. Your content is not only PAINLESS it is often TIMELESS :-)

Hello, will this method work for the new M2 EVO?
Yep
Hi, do you know if it is possible to use a micro elrs receiver on the omphobby m2? There is a DSM plug
I'm not aware that ExpressLRS supports DSM...
If it was SBUS it would be really easy. But DSM? I don't know any solution. 😕

Same was as any other protocol. Only those where there is an option for it on the radio, need it though.. Happy flying!
