- Part four in the ongoing fix up of a well used Land Rover County.
Martin (not the full Aston) recently got new LED lights all around and the worst of the dents kicked out. Now its time to deal with the dashboard that falls into your lap when you slam the door.

That's exactly what greeted me when I got my duct off my 1997 Wolf. I refit wherever possible, but I ended up buying a takeoff replacement. I soaked the 19 top cover screws in paraffin for 2 days and had to maintain my bodyweight in the stubby Bahco ratchet screwdriver. I also bought a new, genuine flap rod and springs.
Mine is too far gone. Ive just salvaged a hot water cylinder and Ill use the galvanised sheet wrap to fabricate a new one. I have a folder and a small guillotine . It is officially the worst part of the vehicle.

GOOD EVENING SIR
Good evening officer....
Can you explain the white powder all over your dashboard please?
Happy to share- there's mushrooms in the back too😝
@@t.h.o.r. HAHAHA!
I don’t want to be a safety Sally, but inhaling silica is pretty bad for you. Just what they told me at the sand factory
haha- I hope you were holding your breath then? Cos I was blowing it all your way. I do this maybe twice a year. All the chassis will be wet sand blasted. double the mess- but no dust.
@@t.h.o.r. no we had to wear respirators
Great video. U can use ash and super glue too cheers Graham
Thanks- It was a job I really enjoyed. The superglue part- not the rust part. Ive misplaced one of the vent flap levers- I I cant assemble the dash till I find it !- Or I have to strip the dash again to fit it when I do find it!
@@t.h.o.r. lol U find it one-day
