Ah yes, Commander Gaius, the one boss where apparently just decides if he wants you to either love his fight, or absolutely despise it.

@@cynreiusacari3163 man, I just gave up and respeced to a full strength arcane build. Unga bungad the final boss ass, still took a few hours even with a broken build.

Afro make sure to explore the abyssal woods its actually one of the most laid back and fun areas to explore in elden ring. Its pretty safe too.
Make sure to go up to the npcs with the big yellow heads too, they give cool items

Commander Gaius irritated me so much that I made a challenge for myself through the fight. Each time I died, I’d do 10 push ups. Ended up doing 260 push ups that day.

For the invasion thing back in the specimen storehouse you want to assist Sir Ansibach because later in the game he'll give you a reward but if you fight him now you don't get it

I mean the levels doesn't matter much in the Shadowlands. It's just the rest of the stats for HP- Stamina- FP and general small boosts in damage but I get that feeling.
Lol idk why all the content creators are getting into a secret dick measuring contest with each other to see who’s playthrough is more difficult
Afro the statue where you got the fragment at 14:59 is how you get to the secret area. You have to go back to the Bonny village and find a tree where the emote “oh mother” is and go back to the statue and do it and that’s how you get to that area.
Another thing you might want to do before you beat the DLC is, there is a secret boss you can find in a manor inside of a forest that has been scorched and corrupted by the Frenzied Flame... a hint to finding this boss is, (the paintings).
don't forget to jump as a dodge. I've noticed multiple boss combos in the DLC expect you to jump mid combo to avoid some attacks, it's very cool the DLC is utilizing more of the games main mechanics

You know... Despite his cousin bashing him, he kinda receives a good feedback. That he knows that people are asking if he took the advice or not. At least he shows now that he learned or got a huge feedback. I'm glad Afro got that from his cousin, eventho he might not like the way his cousin puts it. However, that kinda got what he needed to improve on the videos a little. Provided context or show exploration and be involved and interested in the quests. I like that.

Especially he’s using bleed weapons, thus the fight got significantly easy.

I know that the finger area has a complicated quest line so I would research that so you can mess it up and you can get the boss battle and everything. There is also a really cool and unique weapon you get for completing the things in that area so I’d definitely do some research first

If you have the bearings, at the very least use your runes to buy a bunch of each type of smithing stone. So you can always upgrade w/e you want
That boss at the end wasn’t necessary to kill I also think it’s bugged that ram attack kept getting me annoyed how it still dealt damage after he runs through you.
You can roll the charge if youre light rolling. As a souls vet It’s super cool to see you adopt the learn and then win mindset

Afro if you do a specific emote at that statue it unlocks a whole other area 14:58

Ngl, seeing Afro lock in at the end was cool to see, so overall good vid.
A lot of people hate Gaius' fight I personally found it fun and cleared him pretty quickly. Once I learned how to maneuvor with his boar it was over. His lores also pretty cool. He and Radahn shared a Gravity magic teacher where he was Radahns senior. It's also cool because in his lore it also states that he and Messmer were best friends as well as elder brother figures to Radahn. It's just so cool learning the bonds between these bosses and characters.
The level up from training with LMSH is so respectful. I bow to your warrior spirit Afro!

Bonny village - go east from the grace, cross the ditch, head north until you find a statue under a white tree, loot the O Mother emote.
Unlock Hinterland - go back to the site of grace right at the Gaius fight, turn right (go east) into the room you looted the scadu fragment from, perform the O Mother emote in front of the altar.

So to basically explain the lore mogh is not a moghlester he got moghlested by miquella controlling him like a puppet on a string till you kill him he then takes his body throws out his soul and shoves final boss in moghs body to make his consort (final boss is still being controlled) who he pledges himself to to become a god since hes an empyrean

Commander Gaius is a beeech! i tried him alot and then i used the aoe spell in a corner method, else he was not doable. The get hit box of this guy is ridiculous. You dodge the piggy’s head and then still get hit by his behind legs all the time

Yo idk how useful this will be to you but if you go to the bonny village and go to the left there will be a statue with a emote called O'mother use that on the statue to the right before entering the commander gaius boss fight :)
Btw gaius has like 6 attacks where the hit boxes are generally impossible to dodge on a incline. so yeah, so don’t fight him on a incline.😭

if you go to the north? I think edge of Bonny village you will see a purple item it’s a emote that you can use on the statue of Marika to the right of the grace going into Gaius arena and use the emote in front if the statue the statue will move and lead you into the top right area with some
very familiar enemies and if you to the middle of the giant evil looking finger areas and then use the I think it was a whistle on what’s in the middle you will get a item for bot areas and it will progress his quest line leading into a very missable but very cool.
something Gaius can double hit you with his spear and his boar having two separate hitboxes the boar does less damage and the spear does more damage.

A little tip .. riders are weak on the opposite side they use their weapons on.
Usually a counter to protect that side but a lot weaker than the dominant side.
Please do the sword of night quest . The weapon is super good
