I am hooked on this show. Sadly, Clayton "Bud" Collyer didn't live long. "When To Tell the Truth was planned to be revived for syndication, producers Mark Goodson and Bill Todman wanted Collyer to once again host the show.[6] Collyer declined, citing poor health.[6] When Goodson and Todman called Garry Moore about the job, he immediately called Collyer, who told Moore that "I am just not up to it."[6] Collyer died at age 61 from a circulatory ailment in Greenwich, Connecticut, on the same day the new To Tell The Truth premiered in daytime syndication.[2]" -- wikipedia.

      Bud portrayed adio 'Superman character.
Then in the years after we got our RCA TV in 1951, we watched him host 'Beat the Clock', a popular game show.
He served an important role in the early days of television.

Standards for television were higher then, but adults in general then could be coarse, vulgar, or violent just as now. Just check out footage of the hostile crowds opposed to integration and how they behaved in various cities from Little Rock in 1957 to Boston in the 1970s.

I keep wondering if Dristan had more than cold or allergy medication. They mention a gift package from Dristan in addition to the money. Each show they offer a package of products from their sponsor. I rarely take meds so I'm curious what would be in that package for this show. With cigarettes, many people know a smoker - especially back then. Cosmetics - Even if I don't have a girl-friend or wife, I could offer them to my mom. For me, Dristan is something that might go to waste unless they had a connection to another company that offered other items such as bandages, first aid kit, or vitamins, and those items were part of the gift package.

    • @tomservo56954

Wait a second. In the first segment the first name of the circus performer was Adrian. It seems to me that when the panel was "following along" as Bud was reading the affidavit, they would have noticed how it was spelled. Adrienne is normally the spelling for a woman, and Adrian for a man. So the spelling, which ever it was, would have given them a big clue. But I must be missing something because the lady got two votes. Somebody help.
