Gene Rayburn hosted The Match Game on NBC at the time. Gene was a semi regular on TTTT on this version here, Garry Moore/Joe Garagiola in the 70s, and Robin Ward in 1980. On a separate note, this aired on my dad's 24th birthday when he lived in Staten Island.
Her name is Shirley Abicair, and I recognized Cicely Tyson instantly, married to Miles Davis, was in Roots, Diary of a Mad Black Women, she's won almost every Award there is plus the Presidential Medal of Freedom, I think for her tireless efforts for Civil Rights, a truly great woman and American National Treasure.
I don't know Cicely Tyson's background. I wonder how she went from a student in social research to an actress? Interesting. Makes you wonder if she got "discovered" from being on this episode. Thanks for the video.
What's My Line had a town crier and I thought it was one of the imposters because he looked familiar, but the other imposter also looked familiar. The real town crier was not on What's My Line. The imposter who I thought was the real one was on What's My Line for being the masseur he said he is. The other imposter said he was a commercial artist, but it's possible he was also on What's My Line.
It would still have been relatively unusual in 1963. From 1901 to 1952, our national anthem had been God Save The King through the reigns of Edward VII, George V, George VI and the one we don’t mention. Having said that, for us Elizabethans, it still feels bizarre to be singing GSTK.
Wow, all beautiful ladies in game 2, but non more so than Phyllis Newman who I always had a crush on. Cicely Tyson of course went on to become a very fine actress.
Oh how cool, Cicely Tyson!! Gorgeous as usual. Thanks for the upload!!
I recognized actress Cisely Tyson right away. Her eyes were a dead giveaway.
No one in that entire panel is more renowned than Cicily Tyson and no one sitting there that day would have had any notion that that would happen.
Love that Shirley Abicaire sang Waltzing Matilda! I didnt even know she was Australian. Yay for us! Beautiful.
Cicely Tyson. Wow. A legend!
did that ever catch me, I knew number 2 was someone I had seen , but Cicely Tyson ... wow .... so very young ..

My favorite Cicely Tyson role was when she played Chicago public schoolteacher Marva Collins.
Cicely Tyson also won the Emmy Award for The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman.
You know it's funny, I didn't recognize Tyson right up until before she revealed her name, and we finally saw that great broad smile of hers.
The town cryer was great. He looked like one from the start.

Wow. The great and wonderful Cicely Tyson in her first supporting role. What an unexpected thrill. Thank you.

Correct spelling for contestant #2: Shirley Abicair
Wow! Cicely Tyson before her stardom.
Is Buddy's wearing a hair wig !!!!????
Game #1: 7:33 Is now surreal to listen to him saying “God Save the Queen” now that she’s passed away. #RIPQueenElisabeth
Yes it is. God save the King. ☮🔥🌹🤷♀️

Number 3's real good.

Lady #3 in Game #2
Man #2 in Game #3
Cicely Tyson , I should have recognized her . She was very pretty ..didn't loose her beauty either .
17:24 NAP TIME!
I guessed correctly the Town Cryer. I was impressed with his speaking voice.
He was such a sour puss on the show though. It just didn't seem to want to be there
Wow, all beautiful ladies in game 2, but non more so than Phyllis Newman who I always had a crush on. Cicely Tyson of course went on to become a very fine actress.
Cicely Tyson appears on game 2
Cicely Tyson!!!!
#2 is Cecile Tyson. Recognized her immediately
Goodness, that town crier looked like the least happy person they've ever had on the show. Cheer up dude
Shirley Abicair, not Abercare.
I love folk music; I wish it would come back.
There's still plenty of folks singers. Go support them, attend concerts, ask to have the perform.
I still listen to all the greats on You Tube. You can find just about any one on YT.
I didn't know Cicely Tyson was one of the impostors on here. I didn't even recognize her.
I did!! I thought, Wow she looks just like Cicely Tyson!!
She's not a bad singer. But I HATE folk music!
