He tried to save Sharon Tate's life. He is a hero, and his courage will never be forgotten.
RIP Jay Sebring and all the victims of that night also 🙏🙏💗💗
Jay was ADORABLE!!! RIP Mr. Sebring 😪🙏
If only he had known some years later his life would be snuffed out. So sad to imagine he suffered as did the other victims.
I think Jay was very good looking.I feel so sorry for him.
Jay Sebring had such a young looking face. RIP to all the victims
Kitty Carlisle is so poised and classy. Marvelous thick hair.
She and Arlene Francis.
She was never seen in public looking less than 100%.
So true , they didn't stand a chance !!!!🙏
Jay didn't look like he was having a good time. RIP.
It’s sad to think that around six and a half years after this aired, it’s likely that all of the judges knew who the real Jay Sebring was... 😢
Of course
I believe that all of the judges knew who the real Jay Sebring was 8 minutes after the start of this show, when the real Jay Sebring stood up.🤔
Rest In Peace to Jay Sebring and all of the lost. Peggy Cass and Kitty Carlisle were popular game show panelists in the 60s and 70s. wow.
Jay was seemed very shy and also soft-spoken.
That's why the pussy got wasted.
@@tonycole6473 Shame on you!
@@tonycole6473 you're an asshole
@@tonycole6473 - FYI- Jay Sebring is a Navy veteran having served during the Korean conflict.
@@tonycole6473 Polanski probably would have run.
So sorry for what happened to Jay and the others. May you all rest in eternal peace! 🕊️🕊️🕊️
Celebrity fact : Tom Poston , Kitty Carlisle, and Barry Nelson all died in April 2007 with Tom and Kitty only 13 days apart .
That's freaky weird
Loved Tom in Newhart.
He was royal.
Thanks for posting. He was very handsome.
Its been 50 long years......RIP Jay
Yes he would have been in his 80's now...hard to imagine...
@@lindalee5871: Sharon Tate would have been 78 this year. And her unborn baby boy, Paul Richard, would have been 52 this year.
Jay really lit up when Kitty explained her reasons for voting for him. You can tell he was charmed by ladies.
Thank you for the post. Loved this show and many thanks for the post. RIP, Jay and all the other victims of violence.
Good night and God bless you ! wow you'll NEVER hear a tv show host say that to anyone anymore !!!
Jay Sebring seemed sweet and shy
$25 in 1963 is equal to $197.49 today.
Woe, thanks! I go to Magicuts and pay $28.
Wow!
@@judymac2590 My thoughts exactly!
Jay was a lonely person according to Roman Polanski. I always found it amazing Sebring became Polanski's friend after Sharon Tate broke up with him after falling in love with Polanski. He kept a friendship with Sharon. He even died for her. RIP Jay - on the 50th anniversary of your tragic death by the hands of the Manson family Aug 09 1969-Aug 09 2019.
Every word of your comment is false.
Mark Gibson what the fuck are you talking about. You know nothing about Sharon Tate, Jay Siebring or Roman Polanski
Polanski is a pig and cheated on Tate constantly ! Wouldn't believe anything he says and I think Sharon would have left Polanski and return to Jay!!
Thank you for sharing; I didn’t know he was one of the victims of those maniacs.
RIP Jay Sebring, a hero right up to the very end!!
Jay Sebring looked like he was having about as much fun as having a root canal...
Yvonne Leslie He was thinking about his future.
Appearing on Live TV must have been difficult.
He looked uncomfortable on the show. He also seemed kind of quiet and reserved.
That wallpaper salesman was very handsome!
Yes!
Jay Sebrings eyes are strikingly beautiful
Rest in peace Jay
50 years ago, RIP Jay, Sharon et al.
Poor Jay Sebring met a nightmarish death at the hands of the Manson Family.
Yes, so sad...
Oh absolutely! They were all killed just after midnight Saturday morning. Later on that morning, Sharon Tate's housekeeper found their bodies when she reported for work.
Horrifying. He got slaughtered protecting Sharon. They dispensed him immediately.
... and Bud Collyer died only a month after the murders.
@@aaronz7056 Yes, Bud Collyer died September 8, 1969 on the same day the new syndicated version of To Tell the Truth aired.
Jay Sebring seemed like an excellent hairstylist. Too bad he couldn't have lived longer.
He’s so handsome…young….and serious.
My dad was telling me Jay Sebring made Bruce Lee a movie star.
Gravydog316 true
Beat Girl
kewl beans
yes jay sebring did make bruce lee a star jay knew the director of tv series
the green hornet and jay recommended bruce lee for the part kato

oh coolness. i love bruce lee haha
yeah bruce lee was an orignal
Who's here after Once Upon a Time in Hollywood?
Was he mentioned in the movie. I heard Sharon Tate had a different ending compared to real life.
ivan720 Yes he was in the movie.
@@leval1000 cool thanks!!
who is here because they actually remember the summer of 69?
@@jv-ep2tc Me.
Jay almost looks like a dwarf standing next to the other two fellows. Good head of hair though.
Also, (@4:26) incredulous that Number 2 actually believed that "Old Blue Eye's" eyes were brown.
Such a great find...
Too bad the Panel just made jokes and remarks about the cost of his haircuts- probably not what Jay expected. His PR person probably thought this was good for press, Jay looked painfully shy here
Very handsome man god bless you
In the first set of contestants number 1 could be a double for Hugh O’Brian.
Better looking that Hugh, although he was a handsome man
Interesting fact, three members of the panel would each pass away within a month of each other! Thomas Poston (October 17, 1921 - April 30, 2007), Barry Nelson (April 16, 1917 - April 7, 2007) and Kitty Carlisle (September 3, 1910 - April 17, 2007). I couldn't imagine what they're personal thoughts were, on the news of Jay Sebring's passing in 1969.
Very interesting co-incidences. I wonder if they remembered having met Jay through the program -- I would imagine the panelists would fail to remember every single guest.
Passing? He was brutally murdered.
Rip jay
We love you Jay!! You cut great hair and were a hero till the end.
The third and final handsome guy is the real Jay Sebring ❤
RIP Jay
Rip Jay, Sharon and all the other innocent souls brutally murdered by the Manson cult. It still horrifies us 50 + years.
Good on you Kitty for standing up about men's prejudice against women in racing! First time I've heard her say she's a feminist! A very elegant and ladylike feminist. You don't have to be aggressive to ve a feminist. 😁😉
Kinda strange - Sharon Tate went for shorter guys it seems. Polanski (who didn't deserve her) and here, Jay Sebring (who truly loved her and never stopped).
Sharon Tate was only 5'5.
Sharon and Jay were about the same height.
Who are you to say who deserves who? Ask yourself why did Sharon leave Jay in the first place! Stop creating this fairytale about their relationship. 😒🤦♀️
Jay was 5’6 I think, he and Sharon were around the same height - no he was not a very tall man but not super tiny either, those two guys must be very tall they tower over him
@@Luvie1980 I love your comment. People always make victims of murder innocent because of their deaths but don’t realize we are all human. Death doesn’t make anyone innocent….
Rest in peace jay sebring
I always loved the music as the wall goes up to reveal the 3 challengers.
Thank you so much :)
My pleasure-- glad you were finally able to see it. :)
Jay seemed so reserved and elegant, he was also very handsome,he deserved better and so did the rest of the victims !!!!🙏🇬🇧
Roger Tory Peterson is a legend, and what a treat to see Connie Mack Jr. All in all, this was a great episode.
Jay got a free plug on this show for people in the east USA...
Having recently watched a documentary on the Manson cult, I knew Jay Sebring immediately, but being from Philadelphia and an avid baseball fan, I'm embarrassed to say I didn't recognize Connie Mack Jr. lol
This is CRAZY!! I’m gonna go with 3.
Hairdresser number 1 could be almost be
Hugh O’Brian’s (Wyatt Earp) twin!
That's over $200 for a men's haircut in today's dollars!
Poor Jay, his life was taken away. So sad 😔
Dawn that's cheap
Jim Jonrs
I agree, even though I don't think to further her career was the reason, people who knew her claimed she was naive. Her Father was high ranking military so she probably was probably drawn to the authorative type.
I had to look up the female jockey because it raised red flags with me, as I knew women were not allowed to become licensed jockeys until the late 1960s, several years after this episode. A very few women were jockeys in this country, but they worked unlicensed. It wasn't until 1968 that one woman, Kathy Kusner, successfully sued a state racing commission to be able to be licensed to be a jockey in that state. Diane Crump was the first licensed female jockey to ride in a Thoroughbred parimutuel race in the U.S. It was a big story back then.
Poor Jay did not look happy to be on the show. He looked very awkward and shy.
Thanks for posting this video my man
We always hear about the "Tate Murders". They should have been called the Sebring Murders. He was among the most famous people in Hollywood in 1969.
Huh? He was among the most famous people in Hollywood . Yes one of which was Sharon Tate
i miss u jay, u were the best buddy ......HUGS
Really great to see Roger Tory Peterson. I first heard his name in about 1964 when I was about eight. Someone gave my father a copy of his "A Field Guide to Western Birds." I have remembered his name ever since.
The suit on Contestant One is immaculate. Love it!
He looks like the adult John F. Kennedy, Jr. to me.
You might have already heard....
Quincy Jones invited Jay to accompany him to Steve McQueen's place for a screening of his new movie Bullitt. Afterwards Jay in turn invited Quincy out to dinner the next night, for them to meet up at Sharon Tate's house on Cielo drive. Quincy says he forgot. The next day Bill Cosby telephoned "Did you hear what happened to Jay?!!! He's Dead man!!!" It then became the 3rd time Q escaped death. Ouoooooooo!
Everybody and their mother claimed they were suppose to be there that night. In reality Sharon was suppose to go to her best friends house but cancelled because she wasn't feeling well. Them going out to eat was a spur of the moment thing!
@@rgreene152 Well, Not according to Quincy Jones the horses mouth. 'Spur of the moment' is here say. Jay invited Q over and dinner most likely would have been part of the evening but Quincy flaked out. At the time Q was in the studio recording music for the film Bullitt... GQ magazine Feb '19
Sharon Tate also auditioned for the role of Liesl von Trapp in the film version of The Sound of Music. But unfortunately, it was Charmian Carr who got the role instead.
I never knew about this, thank you for sharing
Why was that unfortunate?
It's funny to me how people are so surprised Sharon had a type.
I'm 75 years old... at that time, my haircuts were $2.00 ... now I wish I could get it cut for$25!😊
MY my my ... Poor Jay ... devoted to Sharon Tate until the end ...
At those prices Jay wasn't poor.
Sharon Tate married Polanski because he was a director. She may have loved Sebring but a hair stylist isn't going to get you too many roles in Hollywood.
So very horrible how Jay Sebring met his end.
Those other men look like giants next to Jay Sebring. Jay Sebring was reportedly 5'6"
Impostor number one gave a very good answer to Peggy Cass' question as to how old Sonny Jim Fitzsimmons was. He was then 88 years old and would live another three years.
25 dollars for a HAIRCUT!! (even 15 is bad). I get MY hair cut for 10.00 (or 9, depending which salon I got too). And this is 2020.
But TWENTY FIVE??!! WOOOOOOOW
25 in the 1960s is close to 200 today!
His clients are not the average Joe. 25$ for multimillionaire is cheap

Sadly RUclips spoiling and trolling is becoming all too common today.
I'm confused about why the audience was laughing when Peterson was answering in the third round.
That's funny - that's the price Great Clips charges now
And the 50th anniversary of this terrible tragedy is this August.
Jay Sebring was the top hairstylist in the world before being murdered in gruesome fashion along with actress Sharon tate and 3 others on August 9 1969 by the infamous Charles Manson gang Sebring was known as the hairstylist to the stars the dreadful fate he met included 1 gunshot wound and 7 stab wounds before being strung up by rope to hang from rafters 20 ft above floor
I need a couple Dristans.
Anyone else believe the panel may have seen photo of Jay before this game? Also, how did the one panel guy think 2 was the correct answer saying Frank Sinatra had brown eyes? Both dolts.
See the real Jay Sebring in his documentary JAY SEBRING....CUTTING TO THE TRUTH
He was handsome….and so young here.
Would have been 30 that year
In game 2 I was surprised the panel did not call out number 1 for not knowing that we race counterclockwise in the U.S.
Yep.
This is from Jim Markham a friend of Jay Sebring. Jay was the celebrity hairstylist in 1960s Hollywood who had famous clients including Frank Sinatra and Paul Newman. He also allegedly hustled drugs to some of the stars at his salons, earning him the moniker “The Candyman.” So as much of a good guy Jay was, he wasn't innocent at all.
Jim goes on to say "I believe Manson had gone up to the house and Manson wanted to sell cocaine and marijuana,” he added. “He showed Jay [Sebring] and Wojciech [Frykowski] the product. They were going to buy some of it, but the two of them beat him up at the gate. The next night, Manson sent the Family up [to kill them] ....and to burn them for whatever money and drugs they could.
I believe Wojciech was to blame. Sharon hated him and wanted his drug dealing ass out of her house.
He even ran Sharon's dog Dr Saperstein over just days before the murders!!
Quite the cover up huh??
I also heard drug deal was behind the murders not anger over former tenant. I am sad to hear about Sharon's dogs fate. Bad omen. Dogs run over in their own driveway happens quite a lot according to veterinarians.
Panelist Barry Nelson is/was the manager of the Overlook Hotel.
Steve…you have a good eye for credits!!! I liked his sinister interview with Mr Torrance…and how he cracked his jaw when mentioning how a certain Charles Grady put both barrels of a shotgun in his mouth!!!
@brittoverbaugh4035 why thank you. Been obsessed with that film going on 44 years. I'll have to check on that moment you mentioned.

So sad, knowing that only a few years later, he would become a victim of one of the worst crimes of the century.
$25 is cheap today! Yeah two gave himself away with Sinatra's eyes!

I remember this show, will the real....please stand up
Did she say "F@(k no" at 3:28 ? Lol
Another "extra" episode today, out of order, by request. I didn't have a copy of this one when it should have been posted in chronological order. Many thanks, as so many other times already, to Ron Gomes for providing his copy!
They had Doris Tate on this show in 1991 a year before she died. They had 3 Doris Tates talking about the murder of her daughter Sharon Tate and her role as a victims rights advocate.
Randy Stroder. Hardy fuckin har, not funny, I'd say nice try, but that just was, I don't think that bit of humor emanated from anywhere nice. Gooday, all the same. Suum Ciqque
After Doris Tate had passed away, her other daughter, Patti, continued the fight to keep those Manson Family animals behind bars. But unfortunately, Patti passed away from breast cancer back in 2000 at the age of 43. And now, Doris Tate's other daughter, Debra, is continuing the fight for the same reason. Unfortunately, Debra is now the only surviving member of the Tate family. (Their father, Paul Tate, passed away back in 2005.)
@@dickrichards9650 It’s actually true. I watched it a few years back on RUclips. Unsettling, to say the least-not a fun episode. ruclips.net/video/ZWsr-8pD8Rc/видео.html

Havre du Grace is French for Harbor of M.

Mark Richardson, no he isn't.
@rudy melgar no, that was obama that started that stuff defending trayvon etc
@Mark Richardson LMAO!! He's making Russia great!
@Mark Richardson You are a loon. You probably would have followed Hitler. People like you are so easily duped.
How could you vote for #1 in the jockey game. Horses do not race clockwise. They race counter clockwise.
They do in the UK
Never did like Peggy Ass, I mean Cass.
I've been watching reruns of To Tell the Truth from the '70's. Peggy Cass always had such an arrogant and know it all attitude.
$25? I just paid $300! Where is my Time Machine? How did #2 not know Frank had blue eyes?
Even more interesting is that he got one vote! :o/
25 was expensive back then it's cheep today 15 is cheep today a comparison beck in that year the house mortgage was 85 dollars
Jay was charging $50 a haircut in the late 60's thats like $500 today.
It’s really sad this world is evil
3 was Sebring
Everyone thanks you.
TWENTY FIVE DOLLAR HAIRCUT!!!! None of them can get over that outrageous price.
@@nickv7793 Just amused at how things change.
poetcomic1 I guess a $25 haircut today would be a little above average but you are talking about the mid 60’s when most men went to a Barbershop, they didn’t go to Salons. Jay Sebering was a Stylist to the Stars and $25 wa a lot of money. You can still get a haircut and style today from the best, but it’s going to cost you $197.00 in today’s money. Back in the early 80’s I was going to Mario Tracoci’s in Chicago and paying $50 and that was for a 45 minute haircut. Not sure about the change thing. I mean if I want I can go to a chain salon and get a haircut for $18.
@Mike Ross Absolutely. But Sinatra (Sebring's first top client) got a soft, natural image changing look from him that would have well been worth $200 in 1953 money!
His clients could afford it. Not their average Joes
