PLUS, I picked up the Punisher 1 last week at a local shop for $10!!! It was part of a consignment sale....also picked up Avengers 260 for $6.....origin and cover of Nebula. You should expand and do a Classic Cover for under $25 budget too or whatever amount you feel would work.....but some Jim Lee and McFarlane covers are treasures and VERY affordable. They also add some great quality to any collection!!!
Thanks for this content. I am a big fan of Longshot, Rocket Raccoon, and Darkhawk as off the grid picks. One thing I've noticed that there's a lot of Facebook hate toward Darkhawk. I'm not sure why. I like the series, I think it's well-written, and I think it has room to grow. Am I wrong on this?

I talked about how sharing what we like and discussing why we like what we like is the best way to find common ground over discussing problems and dislikes about the world that dominate our daily conversations. A bit deep but my love of comics always provides common ground for my students and I and I know everyone lights up when having that kind of conversation

Stallone ruined Judge Dredd for a bunch of Dredd fans. I thought he was decent but I remember discussions with lots of people back then. Dredd was huge for an Indie character. Good picks though. I hope Darkhawk hits the way you think it will.
Great picks! Love the Rocket Raccoon limited series. I even have a few OA from that series. Rumor has it Longshot will be coming to the MCU so not so much of a longshot. Punisher 1 limited series is also one to consider. Other than ASM 129, it was THE comic to have if you were a Punisher fan back in the day. Would have to settle for a lower grade though on $25 budget.
For sure! I’ve actually seen a decent amount of punisher 1’s in the wild that we’re NM at this price range. So like with a lot of these, you gotta be a little patient and choosy. But the deals are out there.
I'd personally go after the spiderman 30th anniversary cover set except the black one which is 40 and over. The other 3 are 10 to 20 each. As a set they sell for 80 to 100 and more for news stands
I think Terrax will happen sooner or later but I think Marvel is heading down the path of the Skrulls being the first FF villain. Then maybe we get a teaser at the end hinting at Galactus (or a herald). For real though...I think all 10 of these are great buys if you can get them at the right price/condition. Nice vid
I just got AMS#129 CGC 5.0 cause the punisher is mu favorite character but i still have 4 more grail books to get a TMNT#1,X-Men#1, Hulk#181 and Amazing Fantasy#15.
Awww man I have been looking for an Ironman 219 because it's the story that got me into Ironman Oh I found a Captain America #354 in the wild for 15, pretty good shape as well When I get Nova #1 and complete my original New Warriors first appearances, I was gonna go for every members first appearance so Darkhawk #1 may be one I go for before then
What if the MCU has Galactus with Multiple Heralds... If they come in the Fan4 movie would make sense... play up the 4 elements, Silver Surfer, Nova, Air Walker, and Terrax. One each for the Fan4 to deal with before Galactus shows up.
Yeah I guess it depends on the deal you're looking at on ebay, but I've seen high grade copies in the $25 range in LCS's and you can sometimes snag those live auctions.
archangel is def underrated that whole x factor run was really good the xmen movie failed to really do that story justice hopefully the mcu does better as they have been at times hit and miss with some characters as well.
I would have added sleepwalker 1 to the list tons of copies out there for under 25$ and he ties to the supernatural phase going forward which is what we will see more of

Was the Punisher really that big, ever? I feel like everyone thought he was really cool back in the 90s including myself. But I never read of his books (and I read a lot of everything back then) and no one I know ever read them either. And apart from ASM 129, none of his books are really worth that much. It's like the idea of the Punisher and the his super cool logo were more popular than his actual books.
I def thought the Punisher was huge in the 80's and 90's. I mean its hard to truly measure...but it does say something that he got a movie in the 80's with Dolph Lundgren :P
Personally I love reading Punisher books, it's a fun read since a lot of the times it feels like I'm reading an action movie. Jim Lee on War journal is probably one of my favorite runs to go back and read out of all comics

Punisher was definitely just as popular, as was Ghost Rider in the 80's-90's....that's why they popped up in everyone's book.

As far back as the early 90s he already had three series running ("punisher", war zone, and war journal). He was definitely a big deal even back then
