  • We used to serve peanut satay in our Cafe a long time ago, it's always been one of our favourite, its rich and creamy and the high calories keep you satiated for the day. We think sauce recipes are so handy to have as you can really add any veg you want to them. This sauce will serve 2 dinners too, it means dinner the second day is twice as easy.
    All the best,
    Dave & Steve.

They did a while back a vegan yogurt which actually came out like tzatziki (if you add dill and garlic a pinch of salt and finely diced cucumber; you start with soaked cashews, lemon juice 2 capsules of probiotics and keep warm over night, or I just throw in Instant pot on yoghurt setting (sorry water and blend 1st). 1st time I made too much and it really kept in freezer and found I could use it in vegan mushroom stroganoff and a million other things. Or tahini lemon juice garlic water hot sauce, water for consistency takes one minute whisk with fork .. depends on what it's for. I make marinara with own tomatoes but also best tinned tomatoes from Italy; use fresh herbs, take your time make lots, mason jars and you can add ginger garlic chili cumin etc. for Indian based things or fresh basil and some wilted ripped up kale and mushrooms over pasta … you're right the sauces are key!!! Great request actually.

This is similar to the satay I usually make, but am looking forward to trying it with the vinegar and maple syrup (as opposed to my usual lime juice and coconut sugar) over the weekend. Re any sauces or any recipe, really, the easier and faster the better. I've been vegan for about 5 yrs now and I did a pescatarian year where I ate sardines or salmon 3x a week, also couldn't resist smoked salmon or occasional sushi but all the while I was watching documentaries and reading books and didn't realize how far the sea is over-fished, never mind the fish version of factory farming BUT during that period I ate no crap and bought an instant pot for beans etc. and my meals really looked different over that period, which worked for me, and as a result, I had no digestive problems when the fish disappeared. I know Valter Longo the expert on longevity who recommends a monthly pseudo fast -- I respect him but I just don't do that, just make sure to eat in a window of 12 hrs or less to give digestion a rest -- he eats a bit of fish and some olive oil because he's Italian but otherwise his diet is exemplary -- but I needed to draw that line in the sand and everything is better now. I love these guys; everything is affordable and doable and doesn't take forever and tastes amazing. You are in the right place!!!

    • @MsJosiejo32
      @MsJosiejo32 4 года назад

@@evelynbaron2004thank you for your reply! my diet has changed so little this month from before, and cutting out dairy has seen the biggest change. While I expected to be bloated and gassy, I've been less bloated than I have been in years! It's been far less of a change than I thought it would be, and I'm planning continuing the vegan diet at home (where I eat 99% of my meals) and occasionally eating sushi or nice cheese on special occasions outside of the house, largely due to wanting to minimise my impact on the environment.
I've been unofficially doing a 9/10 hour eating window for most of my life, which I do think, again, has made the transition no transition at all!
I agree mostly that their dishes are affordable, however I honestly cant understand why people choose to make creamy sauces out of (very very expensive) cashews, when I make vegan bechamels all the time at a fraction of the cost, I guess it's a rich thing 😂

I loved the roasted pepper pasta sauce because it was a creamy pasta dish and because it was unique unlike many of the vegan creamy pasta sauces there are out there (usually variations of mac & cheese and carbonara). Bell pepper in pasta sauce and easy to make? How cool! Would love to see more variations of weird and wonderful creamy pasta sauces (sorry, Italians!) which ALSO contain at least one type of veg

This is a really good recipe. I used the “whole” ingredients instead of the powders. Used monk fruit as a sweetener instead of maple syrup, but accidentally added a little too many drops and it became super super sweet. So just be careful when you try this out. Otherwise tasted fantastic.

    This sauce looks super yum!
Regarding the pasta recipe: number 1 because it’s vegan 🌱, number 2 it’s quick, I grew up cooking Italian dishes and I love how you turn all-day traditional cooking into simple, but flavorful recipes. I remember when you did a recipe cooking dry noodles in a creamy sauce...that was earth shattering for me (and yes, my Nonna would NOT have approved - I got a laugh when you guys apologized to Italians for that 😂) But it works! And it’s no nonsense and super tasty. The kitchen has changed since my Italian grandmother’s day, I do not have time to cook all day...so thanks for reducing the cooking time in order for me to continue home cooking traditions (and now without the dairy and meat! Again, my Nonna would not have approved of plant based Italian either 😂) I’m such a rebel!

I am starting a weight loss program and will try this now only because I can try it with peanut butter powder. Have to do very low or no fat. Plus I need to learn sauces and this looks yummy. An added benefit is that you actually wouldn't need to use a blender.

I make a similar sauce and use it on cold noodle salad. Going to try this hot dish, thanks! I use PBFit to greatly reduce the fat, so hoping it will hold up under cooking heat...

I make my own satay sauce. I have watched the hawkers in Malaysia making them and it is not as complicated as this one. Just some coconut milk, crushed peanuts and chill are used. Some cumin powder at the end and some Kitjap Manis to taste.
The coconut milk is heated and I add homemade chilli oil and then the peanuts are added. In the end I add the sweet soya sauce and ground cumin powder.
I dont add lemon juice or sugar as I am looking for the bite of the chilli oil.

I'm trying out going vegetarian for January and the creamy pasta caught my eye as its not too far away from pasta dishes I already eat (makes the move easy as we eat with our eyes) also not a fan of Indian dishes but love Italian and Asian dishes!

In regards to the easy pasta sauce, for me it was ‘creamy without dairy’❤️✨
