will be interesting to see what happens over the rest of the season. I wonder if the issue was that he moved to F1 too soon, since he moved straight from Formula3
John Aggett Verstappen jumped straight from F3 and so have a number of drivers in the past, but it probably going to get a lot rarer. I can see the claim having some ground in the drivers first year, but after three years in f1 they should probably be used to f1
I really don’t dislike Stroll. He has proven to be a good driver, and he is still very young, a lot of time to improve. 2 podiums and 1 pole last season!!
Agree. That’s very solid considering he was hit with a massive string of misfortune during the middle of the season, admittedly a portion of which was his own doing. However, he’s looks to be on an upward trajectory going into this year and while I know Preseason can’t predict season results, both him and Seb are looking solid
Solid points throughout the video! 😁 Can you do a Vettel video similar to this?? He went to Ferrari and all was good until Leclerc showed up, and we saw the rest. Would be intriguing to see your thoughts on Vettel etc Cheers 🍺
I think he definitely is going faster so far, hearing about his recent 6th place qualifying is definitely helping me get motivated to watch F1 for the first time. I'm gonna keep an eye on Stroll in tomorrow's race, because I want to see him shine.
With Perez out and Hulk DNS, the only RP driver who could beat Stroll this Sunday was Stroll himself. And he did, dropped from 6th to 9th in British GP. LOL
I think he is doing well all things considered. He has to have more pressure on him because of his father's money than any other driver in the field. Considering the turn around of Racing Point and Perez being far more experienced than he is, I think he is holding his own. I'd be more worried about Albon this year. I would have stuck with Gasly personally but as is the way with Red Bull, it's always harder to be the 2nd driver. Back to Stroll, I think whilst he may have been out qualified out outraced by his teammates, the very fact that he has podiums and highest finished for the team for the years, puts him into a position that makes his position in the team justified!
I thought I wasn't a fan of paid drivers but it turns out I'm just not a fan of Lance Stroll. Latifi has been better personality wise already. Stroll is just a bit socially awkward and yes his racing has improved but he needs to work on the PR side.
I love perez and while I hated Stroll at the start of his F1 career, he has grown on me. I would love to see Stroll/Perez at Aston Martin next year, Vettel can spin at Another team. but that wont happen
Good luck to him, i’ve liked stroll since his maiden podium. I dont care if the way he went into f1 because of his father. I mean, ask max and kimi. My prediction for him this year is atleast a podium.
Perfect timing Josh, this video comes out the same day that Perez sadly tests positive for Covid19 and so will miss at least the two Silverstone races! Im undecided on Stroll's performance this year, he was largely being outperformed by Perez at both Austria races and whilst he did very well in Hungary, Perez was reportadly unwell that weekend (not linked to Covid as far as I'm aware) making a direct comparison between them difficult. If Hulkenburg gets the seat at RP then might get a decent benchmark, depending on how quickly Hulk can get up to speed, but if it's Gutierrez RP might as well only run Stroll for the Silverstone races.
Stroll is just really easy to hate on. There are just way too many factors and variables for people to hate him on. But if people think practically, the guy is legit good. No matter how much you hate him, if you give him a good car, he can easily outperform at least a whole lot of drivers who are currently on the grid *cough* Grosjean *cough*
Also keep in mind that this guy has consistently been bullied both on and off track. considering that, I'm more than surprised he didn't just quit f1, but rather kept battling head up
Some drivers start performing as expected later than others. In this age of Verstappens and Leclercs people tend to forget that. In the case Lance is able to step up and stay close to Checo in the rest of races, then he deserves a seat for 2021 (which would also be a shame if Checo is kicked out but that is a whole different thing)
very good video but a quick suggestion. Use lap time percentages instead of tenths of a second when comparing qualifying gaps across a season. If somebody has the same difference to his teammate at both Spielberg (1:03 lap time) and Spa (1:40 lap time), he will have a much bigger gap in tenths at spa, because the lap is so long. Even tho he was equally fast on both occasions.
I think todays race (Portuguese GP) says alot about Stroll. He can race, but he is awfull at it when he's under pressure he needs to master that before he deserves an F1 seat imo

Usually love your videos. But this one just seems pointless. Why ask a question if your conclusion is "its too early to answer". Why not just wait until later in the season ?
Watching this post Turkish GP is funny lol. Stroll deserves his seat and has really shown immense progress as a driver this season. I'd take Stroll over Kvyat and or Ocon tbh.
Totally agree. I still think that Checo is the better driver overall, but Stroll is not the Grosjean some people think he is. He's pretty consistent and has shown that given the right opportunity, he makes the most of it - and any podium for a non-top tier car is not to be sneared at. You've got to be in it to win it, as they say, and he's often nearer the top group than many remember. I honestly think that for his own sake, going to another team if they bring Vettel in, would do him more good than harm. That break from his dad being his manager helped Lewis mature, as did Max's trip to Canada without Jos. Sometimes dads, no matter their great intentions, have to do what us mums do and that's cut the apron strings and let your kids sink or swim for themselves. Be there to pick up the pieces if necessary, but you are not doing them any favours by using your influence or expertise to do anything other than help them get their foot in the door. After that, it's got to be up to them.
So far he looks good, but, just like you said, it's only 3 races. If he can come close to Perez or even beat him then he is formula 1 worthy. However, we need to wait and people need to stop judging him off three races.
So many of the jibes about him before were a) he's slow and untalented and b) he's got a rich dad and that's why he's there. Now almost all of the jibes are just option B. Says a lot. Will never be a world champion or maybe never even a race winner, but a perfectly solid upper midcard driver.
I always hated him because I felt he wasted the talent he had because he knew his seat was guaranteed. However, it seems like that might've changed. I really hope it did, and this pace stays relatively consistent for however long he has left in his career. Nothing pisses me off more than wasted potential
Worth remembering that Checo was severely under the weather during the GP weekend in Hungary. I actually believe that Lance would have still come out on top but the gap to Perez was certainly accentuated. Here's the thing right. What if Stroll and Perez both have good years? Then surely the smart call is to actually respect the contracts and see past the four world titles to discover that Vettel is still in very indifferent form. Perez/Stroll the Aston lineup for me personally.
What I find interesting is that Stroll always gets better when the car is actually good. We saw how much he struggled with the Williams in '18 and the RP in most of '19 but when the car was on the pace so was he as well. And it seems to be the same this year with him being more confident having a good car. Also people tend to forget how good he actually does in rainy or mixed conditions
i actually hope that lance performce super good this year for a good old underdog story and i also do have to admit that i actually do not hate him and am a kind of fan u can argue
Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasnt Stroll excelled in wet conditions. I rate perez highly, but in the last few wet races, Lance has had the edge over Sergio

El cactus de la muerte and he has got better, remember he’s been against proven drivers, Massa is far from a bad driver and same with Checo
As a canadian, I really hope Lance does good
👍🍁
Happy to be working with you!
Solid points throughout the video! 😁
Can you do a Vettel video similar to this?? He went to Ferrari and all was good until Leclerc showed up, and we saw the rest. Would be intriguing to see your thoughts on Vettel etc
Cheers 🍺
I think he definitely is going faster so far, hearing about his recent 6th place qualifying is definitely helping me get motivated to watch F1 for the first time. I'm gonna keep an eye on Stroll in tomorrow's race, because I want to see him shine.
With Perez out and Hulk DNS, the only RP driver who could beat Stroll this Sunday was Stroll himself. And he did, dropped from 6th to 9th in British GP. LOL
He's now joint 4th in the drivers championship
I think he is doing well all things considered. He has to have more pressure on him because of his father's money than any other driver in the field. Considering the turn around of Racing Point and Perez being far more experienced than he is, I think he is holding his own. I'd be more worried about Albon this year. I would have stuck with Gasly personally but as is the way with Red Bull, it's always harder to be the 2nd driver. Back to Stroll, I think whilst he may have been out qualified out outraced by his teammates, the very fact that he has podiums and highest finished for the team for the years, puts him into a position that makes his position in the team justified!
You should do a “wtf happened to Rio Haryanto”
I like how we're hating the same people :D "World's fastest catfish" almost killed me. =)
if pastor Maldonado can win a race, so can Lance Stroll.
4:05 "This sack of misery" lol
I thought I wasn't a fan of paid drivers but it turns out I'm just not a fan of Lance Stroll. Latifi has been better personality wise already. Stroll is just a bit socially awkward and yes his racing has improved but he needs to work on the PR side.
I love perez and while I hated Stroll at the start of his F1 career, he has grown on me. I would love to see Stroll/Perez at Aston Martin next year, Vettel can spin at Another team. but that wont happen
Who else is here after he got POLE POSITION in Turkey?
Yep
So fucking good
@Ddhfacetyy less good
But I won't let it take away from the pole pos
Even tho he was equally fast on both occasions.
i wish Sergey would get another opportunity :( He's a good guy and a underrated driver imo.
Honestly, we all jumped the gun on him. He is turning into a solid mid-field driver. Could become Hulkenberg-esque.
"Especially ones that haven't moved on to solid foods yet" caused me to spray the solid food I was eating all over my desk 😂😂
"I expect stroll to get pole position at monza"
How does P3 work?
I think todays race (Portuguese GP) says alot about Stroll.
He can race, but he is awfull at it when he's under pressure
he needs to master that before he deserves an F1 seat imo
Turkish GP 2020 Q3 called. He is.
Stroll: "I might be able to finally beat my teammate."
Vettel: "hello there...."
Vettel. would probably get beaten by stroll
Stroll: you are underrestimading my power

Usually love your videos. But this one just seems pointless.
Why ask a question if your conclusion is "its too early to answer". Why not just wait until later in the season ?
Watching this post Turkish GP is funny lol. Stroll deserves his seat and has really shown immense progress as a driver this season.
I'd take Stroll over Kvyat and or Ocon tbh.
So umm........
Who's here after he got Pole?
Waiting for your review. (Your prediction about him getting a pole did come true but differently)
I don’t like but I have to admit that he is doing pretty well so far this year. It will be interesting to see how he does for the rest of the year.
It's like Korg is explaining F1. I love this channel
Don't forget, those good performances you mention at the start all came in the wet or otherwise effected races, just like his pace in Hungary.
Never thought Button would win a championship looking at the first half of his career, never say never.
Me: Sees video on Lance Stroll
RUclips: Okay... let the video have 69 views when you click on it
Just sauntering in after qualifying at the 2020 Turkish Grand Prix...
In 2019 he also had the most overtakes of the year
Worth remembering that Checo was severely under the weather during the GP weekend in Hungary.
Holy FUCK josh I just noticed you’re almost at 100k subs goddamn son congrats on that growth
"The focus should be on his performances relative to his teammate, Pérez."
Sergio: Aight imma head out
Hüllkenberg: hello
This video aged well
Lance stroll has become Lance Strolled
What I find interesting is that Stroll always gets better when the car is actually good. We saw how much he struggled with the Williams in '18 and the RP in most of '19 but when the car was on the pace so was he as well. And it seems to be the same this year with him being more confident having a good car.
Also people tend to forget how good he actually does in rainy or mixed conditions
i actually hope that lance performce super good this year for a good old underdog story and i also do have to admit that i actually do not hate him and am a kind of fan u can argue
I watched this video when you first posted and thought hmmmm. You have a point. Then a watched the British gp on Sunday
He is a decent driver with potential the question is can he unlock it
@3:48 was that a shoutout to simpleflips? In an F1 video? No way!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasnt Stroll excelled in wet conditions. I rate perez highly, but in the last few wet races, Lance has had the edge over Sergio
